Mars Hydro FC4800 Showcase

Your plants look great, Prof, even the droopy one.

If you can't grow indoors at your place, is this at your last house? With your in-laws?

Does she suffer something? She looked drained.

Thanks HG. No, this is a friend's house. It's not a perfect situation but it's better than not being able to do anything at all. My only concern is security as I'm not in charge of that lol.
I think they're looking great and any glitches from the heat are excusable, especially compared to buckling runways!
The heat has mostly gone now. Back to drizzle. It is the summer holidays after all.
Does she suffer something? She looked drained.
It was apparently the hottest day ever recorded in the UK and I should have watered her the day before. She's all better now though.

Hey 420. The pics for this update were taken yesterday which was flowering day 13.
The heatwave seems to be over for now and the plants made it through with only one minor incident. It could have been worse but I caught it just in time and got that fast drinking plant watered. You can barely tell anything was wrong at all now. At least I won't need to remove as many fan leaves when the plants get their trim next week. Here's how we look now....

Holy Grail Kush.

She bounced back and looks good again. Still drinks like a fish....

London Mint Cake.

This one is now dominating the tent after the HGK tripped. She doesn't look too difficult to work with though....

Stracciatella.

This one is a bit more on the bushy side. She looks good though she will need a bit of light training soon....

DNA Cake.

She is what she is. I've raised her up to meet the others which will be pulled down to expose flowering sites. I'm sure that whatever she gives us will be worth it....

So all is good again. The light has allowed for us to grow through the hottest heatwave ever recorded here so that is pretty impressive. The guy that I'm growing with said that he tried to grow in the past but using HPS lighting and the plants were killed by excessive heat. No such problems here with the FC4800. Dispite being the most powerful LED I've used to date it could barely heat up an unventilated 120 x 120 tent. The tent has been ventilated since flowering begun though. Really impressed so far with this light.
That's all for today. Happy growing everyone.

Glad to see that they made it through the heat wave! I am looking forward to my FCE4800 to arrive this week. I am currently vegging 3 gorilla glue seeds. I will be pulling up a chair for your grow as it will be good for me to track how you are using this light.

Did you or are you going to bump the light up to 100% as flowering continues? How about adjusting the lights on/off cycle?

All is good again. Looks great in there Professor!
We're still going good!

Hey Sobergrower. We survived the heatwave and now it's back to summer rain. It is the summer holidays after all.

With this grow I have had the light on 100% the whole time. I want to see what it's capable off working at the max. The light cycle is just the standard 12 on 12 off, 8am to 8pm.

Hey 420. Today is flowering day 21 and I've yet to do what I had hoped would have been done by now and that is to get the net set up and to have also given the plants a good trim. I have removed some leaves but it is still very bushy in there. The plants have finished their stretch so next time I visit them we will lower the light a bit as it is a tad too high. For the most part, things are going well. The humidity is up again though which causes me some concern as I'm not there to check on them regularly. It doesn't matter much now but later in flower mould could be a problem. Let's not worry about that just yet though I'm thinking about upgrading the ventilation system for something with a bit more power. Here we are on the third week of flower....

The budsites are coming through nicely. I just want to get the plants trimmed up a little more, especially around the base. Time is not my friend though and I do everything in little half hour bites. Work, kids and communicating with other parties makes things very difficult but we are still going. Here's some more pics of the flowers....

If I can find some time then parhaps we could vote on the next round later today. I've got to go through my seeds first and pick out the sensible options. No landraces' or crazy sativas please lol. Happy growing everyone. :passitleft:

Love the puffballs, and next time you make it over (and before you put the net down): plant risers!

Also a good thinning will lower the RH in there all by itself.
Hopefully I'll be heading over there today so I'll see what I can do.

Time for a quick vote. We need 3 seeds from this bunch. I've already chosen a Sirius Black as I want to see one of those in flower but we need a few more. Here are the candidates.

Zombie Death Fuck
Doz Z Doz
710 Stilton
Island Punch
Super Skunk
Orangina
Fruity Widow
Lava Freeze
Rainbow Cake
Peach Sherbet OG
Black Apple Hitchcock
Forbidden Fruit Cake
Blue Dream
Wonder Pie
Blueberry Headband
Runtzosa
Zkittles Glue
Di Fruity
710 Mango
Face Mask
Mozzarella
Kunts
Pisthash
Maltezerz
Chiquita Banana
Fruity Pebbles
Godfather OG
Stardawg
Original Glue

So those are the seeds I'm willing to part with for this run. I've removed all the regs, autos and landraces' from the choice so those should all be feminised hybrids.

Happy picking all.

If the Original Glue is from Nirvana, I highly recommend it. It's been a pleasure to grow. I'd probably do Island Punch too. I've grown Fruit Punch before and it was very well received.

Kunts
Wonder Pie

:thanks:
I thought you'd pick that one lol.

I'd love to see the Original Glue grown out. This one is from WSE though. I did plant a seed for growing outdoors but it never germinated.

Cool, votes counted.

I've never had any of them but I like the name Black Apple Hitchcock. And, the Black Apple Hitchcock sounds like a good fit with something called Sirius Black. :battingeyelashes:

I would have gone with that one if I had to choose the four. Counted!

Hey 420. Today's update uses pictures from yesterday which would have been flowering day 34. I did go around and water the plants last week but I forgot the camera. Typical!
I lowered the light but didn't set up the net. I also didn't use any risers as I've been watering the plants from the bottom up. I'll be more prepared next time but for now things are going well enough for me. It is really starting to smell now and I think I'll be forced to upgrade the fan and filter set up. Still, there have been worse problems.
The plants are looking great and are packing on the flowers now dispite just going through our second heatwave. This light has been awesome and has allowed me to grow on full power with no issues regarding heat. I think that the temps hit 30C for a little bit but that's nothing compared to what we've had in the past.
So here we today at just over halfway (we hope) through flowering....

So those are looking good but we had a couple of issues with the seeds that we selected recently.
IMG_20220811_084354_copy_6000x4500.jpg

The Sirius Black popped quickly and has taken off. The Kunts also germinated but is a bit smaller and slower than the SB but that's not a problem. The Black Apple Hitchcock sprouted quickly but looks to be a freak. It is growing bit it didn't look like it had any leaves to begin with and it now looks like it's been fimmed. And finally the Original Glue has yet to pop which is what happened to the last OG I tried to germinate. I've set those last two aside and selected a Blue Dream and a Super Skunk to replace them. The SS has popped already which is good. Just waiting on the BD and then I'll set them up under some lights. Here is the weird Black Apple Hitchcock....

Anyways, that's that. Happy growing everyone and be sure to check out @Mars Hydro for some excellent lights. This one is making my life much easier.
