This weather is more my speed! I don't feel like I reside in Satan's ass!
Satan’s ass is probably stanky enough without adding our beloved Stanks to it!

Forecast for today...Sunny with a high of 75F...much better!
Same old jungle scenery....

Autos looking strong....GSC, DDA, Sweet Coffee, OG Rolex Kush...

@SeedsMan OG Kush Rolex in a tomato cage...she got big and I decided to retro trellis her for support

They're all looking very healthy. i'd like to come visit your GH, in late Sept. ?? Growers I know here are crying because the heat wave just over powered their inside grows. We had temps. in high 90s, for 3 days, and over 90 for 6 days in a row.

Went for our annual strawberry picking trip this morning where we get about 30 quarts to make jam for the year. The farmer has about 300 acres and does beef, pork, and crops (fruit and veg). We park the car and get out and my wife says "is that what I think it is?".... I turn to look and see this....

How can you not just shake your head and smile?? Just then the farmer rolls up (they were busy and he was kind enough to give me the scoop in about 5 minutes) and indeed he is growing 3 acres of industrial hemp for sale and 5 acres for sillage/fiber (he apparently uses the stalks to burn his blueberry fields...he says he's never seen anything burn hotter). Turns out it is totally legit to register and grow under the State of Maine Dept of Ag and has nothing to do with the Federal oversight....which is obviously crucial. Turns out his first 100lb bag of hemp seeds (which "fell from the sky") gave him 2 acres last year and from that he got 2000lbs of seeds for this year (and he has leftover and will get as many this year). Says he thinks he could probably even legit sell the seeds. Says the State comes in and tests the hemp (no charge) prior to harvest and if the thc is higher than x you have to burn it.

He says the pigs and cattle love it, it cleans the soil (like us, he does rotational planting), grows easily, and he gets $25/lb for it (he harvested 6,000 lbs last year). State permit to grow under 3 acres is....$50.

I love Maine!

So we are definitely planting some of this as well next year....got a perfect strip of dirt on my cranky neighbors side of the property!
Hemp can change the way we consume and produce most of the materials we need for construction (hempcrete), fibre, food, biodegradable plastics, bio fuels etc..... essentially replacing most things in an efficient carbon neutral healing way.

Don’t you just love the cannabis plant in all its glory :Namaste:

It's pretty fragrant now since the autos are in flower, but it will really be ripe in late Sep early Oct.

We had high temps here as well for 2 days (95F) and my GH had high temp of 115F each day @ exit vent (exiting air) ...Plants seemed to love it....I've mentioned before how my plants routinely swing 50-60F in a 24 hour period...I think the key is airflow, and I have lots of it.

I can't wait to go back there in 2 months and see all of that 7 feet tall!

I looked into hemp for next year and likely won't be doing it... upon further inquiry there is also a $500 license fee and since we wouldn't be selling it, that doesn't make a lot of sense.

My next line of inquiry is what is the fine for growing it? If minimal, that might be a path forward....

Watered everyone today...big girls taking 5 gallons (easily) and autos taking 2. Smelling fine up there as the autos are ripening and the morning chill here makes them all a little feisty. Stay tuned for some Stankberry 11-pointer pics...thinking in a week or so (currently at 9 points).

Weather here been better at around 80F by Mon. back to 88F , enjoy the break ! That is high at $500 for the license more less still need the seed .
I bet I could get his seed for a zip of my grow...he told me "you have to smoke like 10lbs to get a buzz!" ...thc cannot exceed .3%...

You probably could if thats all he is smoking now , WOW Are the corn husk green or dry ? Thanks my worms seem happy need to stir them some today and ck there food .
Doubt he is smoking it, but also doubt he has time for a separate rec grow...he works 18 hour days all summer.

Blew what would you do with hemp?
I don't plan on growing it (now) but my farmer friend sells it to middle man for $25/lb...they use it for oils etc.

He also grows 2-3 acres strictly to burn it on his blueberry fields...says it burns hotter than anything he's tried.

Once you pay your $500 for a hemp license, every additional acre is only $50...:)

Growing them for seeds would br good. Hemp hearts are very popular up here.
I would have grown hemp if they didn't charge a $500 license fee...I thought it was $50 per acre and a $100 application fee (only).
