Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

Just ordered a 24w led grow bulb to swap out the cfl in the hood...12 bucks delivered Wed. I am trying real hard to not go apeshit buying this kind of stuff, but I feel bad for the little gal! In a month or so we will have plenty of light, but if I try this again next year I'll have the bulb.

Day 30. Topped the WWF just above 3rd node. Got a LED grow bulb for NLA and she seems to like it.

Onward....

Hey Blew,

I've been up that way.Used to watch the HellDriver show at the fair. I think they did away with it. I'm 1 town from the coast in Rockland area. Still in my first year growing.

I like your greenhouse. Have always wanted one. Hopefully, this year. I'm glad you got a light for the auto as Jacob suggested. White widow seemed slower to me. I topped it as well, and did alright. My other strain is Purple Haze. It did alright as well. Just have alot to learn!! Hope you have a great grow. Any questions? Someone here at 420 mag will have the correct answer.

Ok, 30 days in and feeling pretty good about the girls. Sure, it snowed here yesterday but they are warm and loving the new LED bulb..plus today was sunny so the added bonus of LED, sunlight, AND reflected sunlight off snow.

Re: Greenhouse Grow In Maine - Northern Light Auto & White Widow Photo

Just curious if this was a successful topping or not? Would those new leaves have occurred regardless? Thoughts appreciated.

Yes those little leaves would've happened. But now they will increase in size together to form two separate colas of equal size instead of one main. Easy answer. I'm sure there is a much more complicated one. Lol
Looks like the led is working well

Good, just wanted to make sure. WW only gets peripheral exposure to LED bulb...I am roasting the NL Auto and it loves it. We had some sunny days and in general they just seem pretty happy (even though it is currently snowing!)

How far away are you keeping that lil LED, Blew ?
There was a sweet spot with mine about 16 inches. But that was that 54 watt one I used to use. I had another smaller one that was sweet around ten.

It's about 12-14". That height is determined by the length of the cord from the wall slung over my Coleman lantern holder! I had no obvious way to get it overhead and it was hitting the plant from the side, then I remembered I had the stand in the barn. Works like a charm.

Sounds like it is right where it's supposed to be.
Great job on the topping. Did you try and clone that top ?

Hi all, also from Maine and doing my first outdoor in...... 12 years at least. I'm about 20 days behind you Blew. White widow, super silver haze, and amnesia were my choices. Using 707 soil and general organics. Right now I'm using two 25w led grow lights until I can get them outside . I look forward to your reported progress.

Sweet, another Maine grow. Still a good three feet of snow on my outdoor area, so I haven't started any thing for that yet, except for some herbs, peppers and tomatoes :cheesygrinsmiley:
I do have an indoor grow going though, if your interested.
:peacetwo:

We got a lot of wet slop outside...
We also got the tomatoes started and they are looking out the window thinking "wtf?"
I'm trying to avoid a dedicated indoor grow...don't have the need for it. Have been playing with some ideas to setup something hybrid in one of our greenhouses, using some kind of supplemental light on a timer (like I am using now inside the house). Temperature would be the obvious culprit, and ultimately the major barrier. Something like a poly box that can absorb/retain heat? For now got plenty on my plate with Spring coming....

Great job I recently started a mainline on vanilla kush, her arms are already getting decent growth, I suggest tie them down once exposed growth enough, then her arms will be nice and flat
