Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

Ours is gloriously simple:

C. Possess, grow, cultivate, process or transport up to 6 flowering marijuana plants, 12 immature plants and unlimited seedlings, and possess all the marijuana produced by the plants at the adult's residence;
D. Purchase up to 2 1/2 ounces of retail marijuana and marijuana accessories from a retail marijuana store; and
E. Purchase up to 12 seedlings or immature plants from a retail marijuana cultivation facility.
2. Home cultivation. The following provisions apply to the home cultivation of marijuana for personal use by a person who is 21 years of age or older.
A. A person may cultivate up to 6 flowering marijuana plants at that person's place of residence, on property owned by that person or on another person's property with written permission of the owner of the property.
B. A person who elects to cultivate marijuana shall ensure the marijuana is not visible from a public way without the use of binoculars, aircraft or other optical aids and shall take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access by a person under 21 years of age.
3. Legible tag on each marijuana plant. A person 21 years of age or older must have a legible tag on each marijuana plant. The tag must include at least the person's name and Maine driver's license number or Maine identification number.

I wish we had Those laws, If that would happen I would pop a lot of seeds right now .

I think it is hilarious that I can get pulled over by a police officer with 2oz of cannabis sitting on my lap and nothing would happen!

I have seen that on Tv with a cop program... all kinds of guys all selling on corners and never getting over that high legal amount... the cops can Only watch... funny to see

Well, selling it is illegal (for me in Maine) unless I was a registered retail establishment. From a business perspective that makes little sense to me since, as a culture, people in my area are so accustomed to bartering: jam for eggs, pork for chicken, cannabis for....

in States like CO there is a heavy tourist flow already so they cash in on that, but the tourism in Maine is largely family-oriented so not a lot of "cannabis tourism" that I've seen. We offer a rental on our farm and out of 30 separate groups of visitors this year only one person hinted at the sourcing of cannabis. I though there would be more....

Lastly, there are so many restrictions on retail...clearly Maine legislators cut and pasted the requirements from other States but, like all politicians, are still arguing over who gets the $ and have now pushed back the possibility of legal retail sales until late 2018...missing yet another tourist year.

I am very thankful for whomever word crafted the Maine law for home cultivation, and the general ignorance/laziness of politicians, because with the broad liberties included to the home grower there is little reason to care about the perpetually delayed retail sales issues.

It is crazy How we can still not fit This medicine in our community... here in The Netherlands they are working on legalizing it. Still we lost our head position. We were so openminded and it feels like we just stand here and watch. Cops putting "great busts" on instagram and the whole country has problems... but the cop Did Some great work...

Before the 1930 most of the sickness was healed by mj so Maybe we should just go back in time eh?

That's great - the "Incabox " can handle / provide a 40 degree temp differential.

Only in combination with the lights. Lights off the box slowly reverts to the ambient GH temps, whether that is cold or hot. My high temp spikes occur on sunny days as GH heats up and light are on. I have since adjusted the light timer to be off between 10-2pm and fan on for that period...and only when it is sunny. Overcast days I unplug the fan. Yesterday was sunny and 10F outside but GH spiked to 105F (exhaust gan into box was about 80F, meaning thermal mass sucked out 25F)

Smart light and fan schedules. :high-five:

I bought a starter greenhouse. Its a mini hoop house 4 x 4 base. Ill park it on a 4 x 4 raised bed and start using it 1 April. I'll need to add some extra ribs for the spring snow risk.

Phase 1 is a 1 April to end October grow season.

Excellent. End of October will be plenty of time. I started seeing buds third week of August. Will you be growing IN the raised bed? Grow journal?

Week 3

Temps last night were -7F without wind chill (-25F with) and the interior temp of GH hit 17F which is lowest I have seen. As you can see, there was a 100F delta swing in temp in the last 24 hours. Yesterday was 2F and sunny, but interior of GH hit 117F. Fans are coordinated as such that the interior of the Box did not exceed 90F, so all of that is good. Lows of the box were 60F and I am pretty sure that was from yesterday not overnight.

-9F last night! That is cold. GH was 14F and Box was....72F.

I am pretty much convinced at this point that if I ran the light 24/7, in addition to the fan (on hot or cold days for the critical midday hours 10-2pm) then the temp range of the Box would remain within 65-85F which is optimum.

The next thread of thought is how beneficial are the temperatures stresses to the plant? Most things do not live in a bubble and, as such, will experience fluctuations in light AND temperature. These plants are certainly getting their share of both!

-8F overnight, Box @ 81F. (Thinking I got the temp wrong yesterday...no reason there should be a 10F difference.)

Also, major temp calculation mistake with the GH thermometer. Actual temps are more like 85-90F, not 100F+ like I reported. (New thermometers cannot be in direct sunlight unlike my older ones....lesson learned). Makes a lot more sense with the interior of the Box being 65F with fan on (and light off)

Topped all three plants today as well.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2018!

We have been enjoying a stretch of record cold temps. Not the temp itself but the number of days in a row it has been below 0F.

If the cannabox is cooking with this, I think you are safe for pretty much anything.

Likewise, we have had some seriously cold (for here) weather. At least 10 days below freezing. You are correct, cold is a non-issue especially since the heat from the lights provides a steady warming. Overnight GH temps for the last week were consistently 15/16F and Box was averaging 75F. BUT, as I said earlier, I need power for all of this to work correctly and in anticipation of this current blizzard I brought the three (3) plants and lights into my cellar for the duration of the storm. They are warning of power outages across Maine and I erred on the side of prudence. I told my wife I win either way, if the power goes the plants will survive (cellar is a steady 65F) and if not then no harm done (and we don't have to worry about the multitude of other power-out issues like no water and freezers full of meat!).
