Re: 360w LED Perpetual SOG sponsored by growledhydro.com, Pineapple Express and Gigab

I am not trying to be the opposition leader but I don't think these leds form GLH && Haight are cutting it. && the problem that I have is, it is not the technology that is falling short but there product design. Instead of changing it they advertise inferior products.

Please correct me if I am wrong. They say "3 watt per 3 watt chip", && the other says "6watts per 6watt chip".

Now the problem is we want 3watt per diode not one chip that has 3 diodes on it. That's still 1watt per diode. Just not practical for medicinal production. && there spectrums need to be tweaked. These are modifications that don't take any real R&D.

I don't mean to move in on you thread bro. I think just that it applies.

No need to apologize man. Your just expressing your opinion, nothing wrong with that, I actually applaud your for doing with respect. I feel where your coming from but - for some select people, LEDs are the only viable option they may have. That being said if I had the space, room, opportunity to grow 10-15 large plants I would use that trusted and true 1000 watts HPS. I would never expect LEDs to compare in that aspect. What I do expect is a viable solution for myself and right now LED is the only way for me to grow. I dont have space or room to run an HPS. I grow in extremely confined spaces (flower room is a sealed 4ft'L X 3ft'W X 3.5H chamber located in a 4ft X 4ft X 7ft grow tent and on top of that, that grow tent is located in a sealed 5ft x 5ft x8ft closet. Granted LEDs produce heat but they still can run in my conditions. I have used HPS in the same closet in the past but I had to do a lot lot lot lot lot more to keep it cool and I could hear the humming of the fans constantly. Now with simply two axial fans running 12/12, I can keep the door closed, tent zipped and the highest my temps reach are 91. 91 is warm but the plants are not showing any sign of heat stress. In fact they look happier at 91 degrees then they do at 78 degree when I open all the doors to let shit breath and cool. If I keep the tent sealed up and the closet door opened a crack the temps are steady at 86 degrees and among LED growers, that is the ideal temp.

Bro I'm an totally pro LED. I am going to buy some really soon. I don't want to advertise anyones product but to me its all about the science && the proper application of it.

Re: 360w LED Perpetual SOG sponsored by growledhydro.com, Pineapple Express and Gigab

you not getting any bleaching that close? also whats up with some side shots, want to see those colas..lol. ur doing a great job bro.

whats up Irish, how is that badass 600w treatin ya over there? I dont see any bleaching yet but that could very well change. I figure Ill be changing a lot of things during my first 2 or 19 passes..lol. Once I get it all dialed in, I think Ill be very happy with the results. I cant imagine how happy I would be with 600w results...lol! Anyways, as of right now, I think the plants look awesome..

The 5th row is going to really fatten up over the next 14 days, I mean that is what happened last time. The colas as of *now* are all about 3-4 inches long and fill about 3-4 branches on each plant. The node spacing is tight and at each node a nug is forming. If shit really keeps going like it is, they will all turn and form into nice lil colas. My minimum goal for these LEDs are 1oz per plant and by the looks of things now, if I were a bettin man, I would bet 1oz each all day long. Winner Winner chicken dinner..................:grinjoint:

ya so far so good with the 600w, about to flower in a week or so. had a little set back with cal mag def, so i got that all tooken care of just letting the girls chill for a few weeks before i flower. their getting tall, expecting to be at 16-18" next week when i flower. just checking your grow out to get a ball park of what to expect. how do you think these leds compare to you other model of leds? i am sure at the end of the flowering phase youll get allot fatter buds when they hit that stage.

And here is an update.....lots of pictures......now it is go time, things are either going to start really taking off or--- well I dont want to go there just yet....

Veg room w/ two mommas (PE & GB) and all the clones in solos have rooted out their rapid rooter, so they currently are veggin - not rooting. Long veg time for some if you do the math...

Re: 360w LED Perpetual SOG sponsored by growledhydro.com, Pineapple Express and Gigab

So I just woke up with a decent hang over- logged on to 420, read some shit- checked my tread and look what we have. A little heat has occurred.

I didnt even go to the site when he listed it, I did not even notice. Now that I actually have gone to the site, I agree with you Mike. Those are for sure the same stereotypical claims you see on ebay lights. " 1w light equiv to a 770w HPS order now and we'll include second light free"!!!!!! Im not kissin ass but Mike you have set the standard for LED advertisement. You claim watt for watt, nothing insane like every single other MFGs does and so far to me- my expectations and being exceeded with the performance.

Re: 360w LED Perpetual SOG sponsored by growledhydro.com, Pineapple Express and Gigab

and on a side note.....

My clones are rooting in 7 days! It is crazy, I have never ever, not once, not in my entire life, seen a clone root this quickly!! I have more clones rooted than I need. HGL really built a solid veg light, that is something I can stand by - I knew it would serve me well for that purpose, thats why I did it. Seriously though I have 15 rooted clones with more ready tomorrow. I put three plants in a week! That means some of these clones are looking at a 5 week veg period. Im fucked! I cant have big plants! LOL, I think I will mess around with the solo cups I put them in. I know once the roots get to a certain size and can not grow, the plant simply stays in the same state until repotted. So my goal is to find the right small container to plant them in so they only grow about 2-3 inches during veg. Am I making sense, Im pretty high?

DSCF2114.JPG

The plants in the small square containers go in this Friday, everything else is on stand by.

DSCF2115.JPG

Seven days later.....and roots. Badda bing.

Re: 360w LED Perpetual SOG sponsored by growledhydro.com, Pineapple Express and Gigab

I also want to share my open root surgery I performed on momma gigabud today. She was past due.

I bet she is sitting in the cutting bored wonder what the hell is going on.

Looks like it may hurt just a little bit, she will thank me later though

Very nice bot...very nice indeed. Hey, I was wondering, and maybe you already stated it here, but how do you take your clones? What is the procedure involved?

I have those rapid-rooter plugs and the biodome they fit into. It looks like the same sponge type material you are using. It has been YEARS since I have cloned anything.

Fill me/us in on your process!

Love the trim up on the gigabud root system. very nice. Nice Bonsai lady you have there!

Green I have no tricks to my madness, in fact I make it as simple as I can. I snip the clones off using dirty scissors(I mean they arent sterilized or anything, same scissors I use to trim buds). I make sure to leave one node attached to the branch I cut the clone off of so the plant grows two shoots off the node I left attached. I try and cut a 45 degree angle but it usually ends up looking pretty rough. From there I dip the cuttings into cloneX rooting hormone, clean up any extra leafage/snip the tips off and then place the cutting into a GH rapid rooter. I dont soak my plugs, only spray them until they feel damp - not dripping. Once I achieve that I place them in the dome and spray 1 or two times a day.

Most people over saturate their rooting medium, that will prolong the rooting process by a solid number of days. I did the same thing when I first started cloning. I thought "the plant has no roots so I have to make sure the medium is saturated". Saturated, ya sure that is fine but not soaking. When it is soaking the o2 levels are low and roots just can not get promoted. I like my plugs to feel slightly damp. When I squeeze them I like to be able to get a drop or two of water, thats all. Anything more then that and I'd say it is to much. I dont use anything other then straight tap water during the whole process. I use tap and not RO/DI because it does contain some minerals and the chlorine I feel kills bacteria you don't want around your venerable cuttings.

That is all Scrog with a 600w cooltube. 525g dried roughly, .8 per watt. I harvested the pure Sativa (Waikiki Queen) probably 2-3 week early because I did not want to wait around for her to finish. I would have had over a gram per watt if I let her finish out, but I did what I had to do.

Trust me Scum, I know LED could never produce those results. I would never ask that. But again I could never do what I am doing now with HPS. Loose some, you win some. By the way, that is the same tent I currently have divided into two chambers thanks to LED (veg and bloom).

Re: 360w LED Perpetual SOG sponsored by growledhydro.com, Pineapple Express and Gigab

Weeks three through five. Im slowly making tweeks to this system.

Most of these plants had a zero day veg. I was relying on one mother at the time so I was barely hitting the 3 clones per week that I needed. Now that I have a second mom I have plants backed up in my veg chamber. That means from here on out the plants will all be of the size I expect with a nice veg cycle. I knew the start was going to be a little choppy, I have everything streamlined now. Yaay!

That fifth is slowly starting to fill in, I like the way they are looking.

Re: 360w LED Perpetual SOG sponsored by growledhydro.com, Pineapple Express and Gigab

Some great growing going on here! :bravo:

Have you explored your camera's white balance function? If you calibrate it under your LEDs you can get more natural colours for your pix.

I over-dosed my Rep giving for the day so I'll get you tomorrow! 5 stars if I haven't done that already!

:peace:

Thanks labrat, your grow is looking real awesome too. My luck with DWC is terrible without a chiller and that is something I dont own.

:goodjob:she can stretch her legs again!
Did you use any hormones/vitamins in her water?
RE: the clones, everybody should have your problems. Keep the 3 you can use on schedule, cull the others and adjust your schedule accordingly. :Rasta:

I use RO/DI h20 along with some humic and fulvic acid, a few drops of superthrive, some Mycorrhiza, Tricoderma, Bacteria, a little molasses to keep everything fed and a tspn of flora grow. 500ppm.
