LMAO Cloning For Dummies

You can turn almost any seed into some amazing medical with just a little practice and patience it's best to run a few that you don't know what they are bag seeds or whatever before you start running more expensive seeds some of the good seeds can cost 10 and $12 a seed it says you opted for no private messaging when I try to message you but either way this is my Forum I can always be found here
Amen. Great to hear some common sense for a change..

While it is not the method I would suggest for cloning, I have spaced out branches I have trimmed from plants in a vase of water and they took roots. And while I am a believer that this method will work since I have seen it 1st hand, I still fall back on using a clone machine when I want to make clones. My brother and most of my friends use the rock wool cube method for cloning with fantastic results but I find that for pure simplicity the clone machine is less time. With rock wool you have to keep an eye on your cubes so they do not dry out and water as needed, with the clone machine you turn it on, insert the clone and leave it alone for 8 days. So long as the water level is full when you start it is completely hands free after you turn it on. Just one less thing to have to deal with.

This Thread will most likely never end I like to add little projects as I go like right now I am trying to feminize my DJ Short Blueberry very old strain from 70s and then I thought about growing a strain of Bud that is notorious for breaking branches and stems and I want to grow it upside down in a Topsy Turvy tomato with a huge LED on the floor and see what happens to the plants but I have to finish one project before I start another my wife yells at me for that
Oh, boy. When you get to it, please post progress & some pics. Been dying to try upside down growing for aaaaaages, could never find the time (adhd = 900 simultanious projects). In my head i can just see all those lovely branches reach up & around the hanging pot, bursting with fat blooms....
.

I shot some CO2 into the bottles so hoping to see how long they can survive on what is inside the bottle can you imagine if I can this and make it work holy s*** this one is nerve-racking if you come up with anything else simple technology and low budget this would be nice for my project I really am going to do this one way or the other
I have a few ideas for you, trying to get posts up to 50 so i can pm you and every tom, dick & hairy potter out there looking to make a quick buck don't steal the idea before it can bloom into something great...
.

I will take any and all ideas on this subject and then I have a new one for everybody

Now let's go back to the 2nd grade and 1st grade my daughters made a terrarium out of 2 liter and grown beans in them so why can't I do the same with a medical plant given I change the size of the terrarium could it not survive its whole life in there and flower

Hi, iamhigh (& all the rest of you!)

1st off, i want to thank you for this great thread. I've been having a ball reading this, and yes, i've been LMAO.
I've been in love with growing (any & everything) since age 2, when i shoved peas into the ground with fat little fingers and a few days later, magic started happening. I make my own compost, build my own raised beds (we suffer from terrible clay soil), and use fresh veg & herbs from my (city) garden in my catering business. I'd risk saying i'm an above average gardener.
I smoked weed for the first time in college, and (strangely enough), did NOT end up with reefer madness. I've lived in a bunch of places all over the world, always enjoyed the local giggle bush, and then (eventually) i'd end up back home (family, ya know?). Never grew it myself, though.
(There is a point to this story, just bare with me ).
A good while back my favourite relative was diagnosed with cancer. He got treatment, and 3 months after his surgery he came for a visit, and i was amazed by how well he looked. (Good weight while still on chemo & radiation). His secret? You guessed it. I, of course, immediately offered to start growing for him.
The interweb is an evil, evil place with WAY too much info and far too few filters. I got confused by all the info out there - defoliation? Snipped all my flowering ladies back into veg. TWICE. Don't even get me started on my wild adventures in nutes, must have super ferts, and super special setups that cost you more than a months wages.
I forgot the basics: dirt, water & sunlight is all you need.
The point: thanks for being the voices of reason. I genuinely appreciate the level-headedness.

Just watch out for picture thiefs lol

Mary Anna when it comes to the clay there is lots of different options question is how are you set up and how do you want to go about it I have seen Coco used inside clay to space it out I have seen hey used mulch anything basically that the grades really fast will leave gaps of air in the clay and help to break it down as water can run through

And as for this thread I enjoy helping people with their Hobby slash obsession sometimes I get a little carried away so here recently I have been trying to bring myself back to the basics everything here lately has gone to technology my entire Greenhouse can be ran from an app so it's back to what grandma told me snip my plants and drop them in a cup of water was never told anything about pH chlorine humidity or any of that

I love to play the question and answer game so if you have any questions I will answer

As it goes for turning my plant upside down I have not got a chance to do this yet it makes me curious because I have a couple strains that like to break branches stems I'm kind of curious if turning it upside down kind of like hanging it to dry would help with the blood production branch breaking or if it would just pull itself out of the ground due to weight this is one of the plants in reference

this one comes from BC Bud it is big bud the name tells you my problem big buds heavyweight thin branches can't fix problem think I'm going to turn it upside down next time around I have a 2 foot by 2 foot by 4 tent that is not in use right now I have thought about putting a light at the bottom and hanging it in a taxi Turvy upside down from the top still trying to fix a couple things that I know will go bad if I attempt to do this now the one is weight of plant with Buds and water will be too much for bars to hold I need to find way to suspend without putting weight on supporting poles

Don't worry about the clay soil, been going at it for YEARS. Started with raised beds, but i've been working on the soil proper bit by bit with green manure, planting alfalfa, etc. Slow going, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
I was just trying to illustrate (with a long story) that ito tomatoes & chilli's, i stick to keep it simple, but i was lead astray by the bright, twinkling LED lights of pro bloggers (not pro growers...)
Back to growing my babies simply, and i was really happy to find a thread that echoes my sentiments
Thanks for being so patient & helpful to new members (like moi), it's great.
.

Yeah I prefer the old-fashioned way of doing things not the Technology Way LEDs are great and everything but you don't need all that you can do it with less

I don't have Chili's or tomatoes but I do have cherry trees and apple tree a peach

LMAO do you have any subjects that you feel you are a dummy on

I'm only guessing here, but a top heavy lady might succumb under her own weight, and be pulled out of her container ... unless the root weight counterbalances the bud weight, but then you might need some kind of heavy duty frame to keep it up, and that's not a tent grow, that's a converted room, or outdoor.
Maybe rest the container on some sort of scaffold in the tent, resting individual branches on tripods, but then you have a shade issue if you light from below...
Sorry, i like puzzles. Will keep thinking....

Nope, mate, I'm a freaking genius.
That's why I almost drowned my babies with terrible drainage this week. Supergenius, me.

Ps I'm as old fashioned as they come. Technology needs electricity - if there's a 3 day black-out, you are f@!#ed. Also, I'm a terrible luddite - i seem to break anything more complex than a pocket calculator.
As they say, hope for the best but plan for the worst...

Welcome MerryAnna
Great note!
A year ago my son dropped a seed in a pot that i had beans planted in. We've kept this thing alive for the entire time. In December we bought our home (irrelevant) which has a badass garage. While chilling one day at the work bench, i noticed that the tool closet in the corner was quite suitable for more interesting adventures. Lol.
At about nine months of age i placed our girl inside her new room. More experimental time for setting up the environment. I've read so much. I've learned a ton. Like you i know the basics of growing. Light, soil, water.
I've built my own lighting fixture. I got some meters for monitoring the environment, ph and humidity and temp.
It about killed me to buy seeds but hell, I'm flexible. My first grow wont be in a state of the art farm but i bet it'll be fine. Ventilation today. Peace,, Calogero.

Thinking about building an entire frame inside the tent maybe two by fours or welded steel I'm not sure I don't want to put a lot of money into it in case it don't work as for 3-day blackouts I am fully prepared up to 8 days of the sun being blocked out have large batteries because I use a supplemental lighting system ran with solar panels running 1600 watt LEDs in the dispensary shop

As for what I like to do I like experimental things because I never know what the results are going to be I kill plants just to kill plants everybody else is worried about their clones surviving I want to know how much sh it it can take before it dies

Seedingeden you should step up your skill one and read seeds with me I'm in the process of feminizing a blueberry plant to make seeds as it goes I will be posting pictures of her I ain't paying no 12 and $15 a seed

Seedlingeden, that thought could've come straight out of my own head. It's like i live in this repurposing zone, always thinking up new ways to use "old" stuff.
Good on you for all the diy - i promise your own herb will be the sweetest thing you ever smoke...
