LKABudMan Back In Deep Water: 4 Purple Haze Clones In RDWC

Cheers for the tag boss.

I know zero about your grow method, in fact probably know more about why Taylor Swift puts a 13 on her hand than RWDC, but here we are...

That being said Im in, much love for the strain, anything Purple is a winner, even if its not.

Any journal thats skipped ahead to seedling is a winner too. Have enough trouble pacing up and down waiting on my own, let alone waiting days for someone elses..

The decider though for staying was the fact you had no Ugly Toe Pics. Could be sheer coincidence given the angle they were taken on, but whatever the case, happy accident or otherwise, its the result that matters.

Barefoot growing is great, in fact Id encourage it, but if an Ugly Toe slips in....well.... its a bit much.

Good luck with the girls, Ill be seated down the back here somewhere.

Looks like a great start so far. I tried DWC once; but it wasn't for me. Too much work involved. Now if it weren't for having to do bucket changes, keep up on temps & pH I may have enjoyed it more. An RDWC system with a chiller & I'd probably still be growing that way. But regular DWC wasn't much fun. But the plants sure grew much faster then they do in my soil grows. Things seem to take forever in soil. But the plus side is I can just check my plants every 3-4 days & not worry much about them.
I'm kind of in the same situation with you on clones. Therefor, when I take my 1st clones from my current grow I plan to let them grow into mothers to take clones from when I'm ready for them. If you are looking to slow the growth down on the clones I'd consider vegging them under a T5.

Thanks for the tag and you bet your frosty nugz I'ma sit in. :headbanger: great start to the journal my friend... Can't wait to see those purples.
Welcome @HappyHazmat88 pull up a chair there is plenty of room and the joint is just about to be lit:passitleft:

@DV8 Lucky I wear slippers when tending to my girls. My wife and son are bound to be barefoot though so I will watch out for their feet in the pictures.

I have to admit that if I was doing this alone DWC would be much harder. Luckily my wife and son help me out and both enjoy the daily checking on the plants. Definitely makes it much more manageable. And I am really looking forward to the RDWC system.

I thought about making one of the clones a mother and then taking clones from her. Unfortunately I thought about it too late. I am still hoping to make this timing work but we will see. Thanks for tagging along @Buds Buddy

When I did DWC it was winter months & I grew in my shed. No water out there so had to lug 5 gal. jugs back & forth so it made it a PITA. Might not of been so bad if there was water to the shed.

The first thing I did when I decided to go dwc was to put in the 'sink' in my basement. A hose with carbon filtered water and a tote with a sump pump as a drain. I am too old to be carrying 5g buckets up&down stairs.

Not only a farmer but a plumber too.
I don't remember that sink in the code book though.
Love the basement, lots of room to play.
Looks like another fantastic journal on the go.
Hope your having a great weekend Mucker.

Stay safe

Yeah, I didn't know what to expect at the time. Didn't study any DWC journals. Just jumped in head first... lol.
Going to tear down the old shed & put a nice, new, bigger shed in it's place. It will have a sink, electric, heat & AC when I'm done with it.
I've often wondered if it's possible to turn one of those water coolers for 5 gal. jugs into a water chiller for hydro.
Have you heard of anyone trying it ? Curious if it worked.

Shouldn't be too difficult. If you only use the water for cooling, pump the cold water through a heat exchanger (maybe even something as simple as a set of coiled tubing) in the reservoir. Use a temperature controller with an external sensor to shut off the coolant pump once the temp is reached. Voila chiller!

As a homebrewer I have all the equipment to do this if needed. You would need to fill the water cooler with ice occasionally but still preferred to buying a chiller. Right now my buckets stay around 68 sitting on the basement floor so I hope I don't need it.

Thanks @Bill284 hope your weekend is going well.

Ok then! I'm impressed when someone grows with two methods! This is going to be fun! Hendrix plays through my head when I see Purple Haze! Nice!
Thanks @StoneOtter one of these days I want to try coco. Jimmy was the inspiration for the mother's name, Jenny. Also the reason all of the clones names start with J. My son loves to name stuff. As a homebrewer I have four refrigerators around the house; Milhouse, Bluto, Snacky, and Judy

Do you dry in the fridges?
I had planned on it with my first harvest. Then I harvested in the middle of a power outage and kind of forgot about it. Next harvest I will try it.

That said I tried freeze drying last time and I LOVE it:green_heart::circle-of-love::yummy:

It keeps all the terpenes, color, and size of the bud right off the stem. They feel a bit light, like Styrofoam. But they are ready to smoke in 48 hours with no fuss and taste amazing. If you get access to one I highly recommend it.

I went to a canna show and a guy with a dehydrator gave me a cone with it. I remember how sweet buds looked in jars all feather light.

Last time I was not sure how they would turn out and filled the freeze dryer 1/2 full. Next time I will do a larger portion, possibly all except some lotus cured. Comparatively, I think I can taste the oxidation in the hang-dried bud.

Hola BudMan! :passitleft:
Gracias for the tag - I wouldn’t want to miss this one! Off to a great start and a shoe in for GJotM!

:welldone:
Thanks for coming @FelipeBlu I have been looking forward to this grow since I planted the three mothers in soil. Now that Jenny is in flower and I smell the sweet berry I am even more excited.
