LKABudMan Back In Deep Water: 4 Purple Haze Clones In RDWC

It looks like a very similar system to the one I bought. BTW, all the issues didn't stop me from a successful first grow. I'm not sure you'll find any system that's perfect. Good luck!

I'm not expert, but that one plant does look like it's foxtailing. I had ine plant in each of the last two grows that foxtailed. One was just s little, and one was really bad with the foxtailing. The really bad one kept growing white pistils long after the rest were harvested.

Hey sorry there didn’t see your response if I have time I’ll pick it up got to save up some money but I do have time cause I’m waiting for my current grow to finish

Bugs. Kill them all bro. Kill kill kill
I'm going to kill them, their kids, and their whole freaking family. NO MERCY!

A few days ago I listed some things that would make this grow less boring, and I knew I missed one big one. But I've never had problems with bugs. That won't jynx me, will it?

I found these this morning Luckily I have this just delivered from bud of the Month.

Thanks @Sierra Natural Science but I was hoping wishing I would never need it. I'll be spraying tonight just before lights off. Let's see what this SNS 217C does...
Omg sneaky little motherfuckers! They can become weed herpes. They can turn the prettiest plant into a hot mess.

If you catch them early, you can control them but you need daily vigilance.

I inspect my plants daily. Once you know what you’re looking for they are easy to spot.

Work has been kicking my butt lately. I haven't had a deadline this tight in a while and I've been a bit consumed with it. Hard to get away long enough for a real update here. I finally see the end of this project, though, so I can finally update this journal.

So the big new is spider mites. I went into the tent on Saturday morning and noticed a leaf or two in the very front of the tent that looked odd. I almost thought it was powdery mildew at first, but when it didn't wipe off I decided to use the scope. And sure enough, it was spider mites.

It makes me itch just looking at that picture:eek: How did I get spider mites? When I first started growing I was very careful about not wearing clothes in the tents that I had worn outside. In the past couple of weeks, I've been busy with work, along with trying to get the normal springtime activities done (pool, lawn, etc). I think I got lazy and checked on the plants with something on my shirt. The mites are mainly on the front part of the tent, and they look to originated from the few leaves that stick out in front that may have brushed against my shirt :(

So, lesson# 1: Don't wear outside clothes into the tent if you don't want to bring bugs into your tent. EVER!

Luckily, I had some SNS 219-C spider mite control from @Sierra Natural Science . I mixed it up and gave them a good spray right before lights-out on Saturday. I concentrated on the front where I knew they were, but I sprayed the entire tent as much as possible. I turned the exhaust on high for the night to make sure everything dried out as quickly as possible. After a couple of days to verify no ill effects, I sprayed again last night. I'm watching closely to see if I see anything spreading and have my spray bottle of SNS 217-C handy.

Lesson# 2: Don't wait until you have a bug problem to get something for bug control. In week# 7 of flower, my options were more limited. I was lucky to have the SNS 217-C, which is rosemary based and OK for flowers.

So now the fight with the borg begins. I have 4-6 more weeks for this grow, and I'll spray weekly through the end (more often if needed). After this grow, I'll deep clean the tent and the basement, using stronger pesticides and diotomaceous earth (DE). At the same time, the other tents are being treated with DE and SNS 209. There will be no shelter and no mercy. And, in the future, there will be outside clothes worn in the basement ;)

I'll give a better update on the plants this week, but they are still eating, drinking, and fattening up well. I removed a few fan leaf fingers that were hiding/brushing other buds (Thanks @Carcass I never though of just removing a finger instead of the whole leaf). Enjoy the rest of your week and keep your outside clothes out of your tent!

NOTE: Last month I won two SNS 217-C for POTM & JOTM. A few days later I got a call from @Sierra Natural Science . He said he noticed that I'd won two, and would I like to substitute the SNS 209 for one. How thoughtful was that??? I'll be using the SNS 209 for my other plants for prevention, and the SNS 217-C for outbreaks. What a fantastic sponsor for this site. Oh, and both are rosemary based and they smell FANTASTIC!

Sorry to hear about the mites but thank you for sharing the knowledge hopefully you found them in time

Thanks @TwelveCoffee and hope you're having a good evening. I think I caught them in time. Right now the damage is only on a couple of branches in the front. The real question is... can I stop them?

Can’t complain other then being at work haha and I say we should deploy the decoy plants to trap it then kill them with poison!

Funny, my son wondered if we could put an untreated plant near the treated buds, 'lure' the mites to the untreated plant, then burn it! I'm still considering...

Weekly Temperatures

I was a little upset at AC Infinity this week. They upgraded their software and firmware and wiped out all history and all prior setups. I had to go back through and set it up from scratch. Of course, that took about 15 minutes. And overall, I love how I can control the temperatures and humidity in the tent. It really helps to keep the VPD right where I want it.

The PPMs have been creeping up in the system for a while now, and I was surprised to see it up at 1400ppm (2.8ec). The pH is also dropping slightly. I'm going to feed it water to get back down below 1200ppm. If I'm still having issues, it may be time for a res change:(

I think I'm keeping the spider mites in check. I sprayed again last night before lights-out, really drenching the undersides of the leaves. I don't see any webs, and I don't see the leaf damage advancing. I'm going to keep spraying regularly, though.

The buds are still building/foxtailing. Either way, they're getting thicker. There are some chunky frosty buds in there. Now I just need to keep the mites in check and the nutes flowing well enough to get them over the finish line. Just a few more weeks...

I may have gone overboard with the pictures. These were taken just after they were sprayed last night.

Everyone stay safe out there and have a Fantastic Memorial Day Weekend!

Looking stellar BudMan! Happy Memorial Day!
Thanks @Krissi1982 It's going to be crazy here this weekend with the normal holiday lake traffic along with the rennaisaince fair. We just got a big float to anchor out out on the lake, it'll be fun to ride all the waves from the boats this weekend :surf: Stay safe and have fun!
