To late for me on this mess so I will be using in the next grow for sure.
 
I like that chart Dresney just shared. It states that @ 6" from bulb, 63,000 lumens are being emitted from a 400. I am finding the hot zone under my 400 to be about 8"-10", but that's because I am lacking on air movement in an upwards direction. If you have good circulation, I'd think 6" to be a very reasonable distance.
 
Im in same boat and find 10 is my limit :) toyed with the idea of my 600 in that spot! I reckon id cook my girl though. Lol
 
Yea I already got a 4. The reflector I'm getting be a parabolic reflector oz a big 1m thing.
Won't get a second hps in there with what I choose.
Only thing making me think about the 1k is iv never ran a 1k before and iv no idea of the heat it will generate. I no I can manage a 6 in my space but dunno how much chew il have with the 1k. Il be using my 400 for veg in future

Wowwww, mate, as soon as I saw the 1st pic a massive daft grin split my Victor Meldrew type gob :) Even Mrs Oz was gob smacked :) Well, it shut her up for 5 seconds lol :). Incredible mate, simply incredible and those buds........wooo hooo you're are going to need more jars :)

She looks even better under softer light. Those colas are coming along a treat mate :)
I kept seeing an rule breaking branch sticking its head up..... I assume that's higher for a reason it's not like u for a single leaf to be outa place lol
 
He he you got it OZ lol :) I'm going for a feeding loop where the two very ends of flux are set higher. They call for the most energy being the dominant colas. yet the others feed freely off along the flux before it reaches end dominant branches thus hopefully creating a feeding loop. Giving me a monster that wont quit, well thats the idea!
