La mate, at the risk of sounding like a total prat, I need to ask yet another question regarding pots lol. I went to buy some rectangular ones on Tuesday but a) they were clear, b) the store didn't have enough and c) I couldn't find ANYTHING that would act efficiently as a drip tray. So, my son came up with a possible solution......my 20ltr round pots measure 11" diameter internally, if I was to get a rectangular tray (as in lap tray) and cut a 10" circle out of it then it it on top of the round pots would it work? It would mean the girls are in direct contact with the plastic tray. Would this have any "sweating" or mold issues? Thanks for putting up with this idiot lol
That is essentially what I use. I had cut the bottom off a 5gal bucket and use a bucket lid to 'rest" on the the bucket cut. Below the catch basin I made a little table that is 1" high on one side and 2" high on the other to give me a little slope. Then out the bottom of the bucket, I drilled a hole, put in a hydrofarm grommet, then a 1/2" plastic barb/MPT fitting that connects to the drain hose into my res. It does hold a little extra water, but as long as the light is blocked, no algae will grow.
