Light Addict's Fluxing Central - Featuring The Original Flux Journal

Hello to all and welcome to my second grow journal.

This journal will feature the newly coined FLUXING style of training.

May any of you that already know my work and previous thread, please sit back with a grin on your face and enjoy! To any new people interested in this journal please jump in and add whenever you want. I run a relaxed fun journal with a good sprinkling of information.

Anyway here is the specs

A selection of household CFLs for Veg and a 400 HPS for flower.
Soil, perlite mix in 20 gal pot.
I'm going to use my Plagron nute range; Terra grow and bloom. Sugar royal, PK13-14, Green Sensation. + Molasses.

Firstly to all; yes this style has been called by another name, one we will not deem to mention on here!
Secondly; I am doing this style due to a malformed mutant plant. As this little girl through herself out in this shape naturally.

Pics speak a thousand words so here goes!

I would like to shout out to my friends on 420 for your support on this journey!
A special thanks to Spimp;
The reason for name of this style is illustrated above. pic edited by Sir Spimp!

The 11th pic and on.

Ok this was a bad example to be honest as she was a mutant baby and grew funny lending her to how I ended up training her out.

So for a flux you simply top your plant at the third node. Just pushing or pulling the little vertical closed up tip foliage, till it pops off. This is where you then get 2 new shoots growing from. Its these 2 points we train out horizontally to hecome the two main flux arms. We then only work with every other node along the flux arms. Using just the side on positioned nodes and removing all under ocer nodes as soon as they form! :)

Whilst your online Boss, do you reckon I could top my ends and then train them out like limbs? So in effect the ends just become arms like the rest of the plant and I continue growing until I'm happy with my tops positions. The only thing that I have a doubt with is there would be no dominant ends as such unless I treated the 4 new arms from topping as dominant ends and kept all 4 slightly raised.

Chap this is the very reason we top the ends of each main flux arm. They just become.normal limbs, this is when you choose through placement which of end limbs becomes.the chosen dominant one!
If you don't top each main end then you get a totally off balance plant and the feeding loop won't get near working. Remember fluxing is total even distribution and flow (well till you start the loop). Total control over spacing etc etc. So yep you top to produce two more limbs per end of each main flux arm. Your setting final position for each limb whilst these newer limbs grow.out to match the others! ;)

Thanks Boss that's just what I was looking for. I never picked up on that with my first Fluxers and just steered them around the pot.

Love the Flux! I usually use a scrog, but this looks like a nice improvement. It is impressive how consistent the buds come out in both size and canopy height. Subbed up to follow along and try to catch up on some of the older stuff :goodjob:

Just looking in... sorry it has been a while. Are you still killing it with Budmaster? (you are killing it with whatever) ... you don't veg with LED do you?

Wow, you do a lot of work or what? :cheesygrinsmiley:

:hmmm: How many hours do you think you put into each plant?

RoorRip

Hey Buckshot my friend, thanks for stopping in :)

Ok yep still running BM lights, although got a new RAYSACE to test soon. I've also now starting vegging under LED, Just cfls for germination and first week or so.
As for how many hours nowadays on a flux! Lol it used to be a good few hours. Yet now fluxing is child's play for me. At the moment Ive got 2 going and they might get ten mins over the next 2 weeks lol. Once you have the form set its just a bit of defol here and there and adjusting tether points once a week. I've gotten quite lazy recently :) yet fluxing really is so simple once you have it down! :)

COMING SOON!! LA AND THE WORLDS FIRST QUANTUM FLUX!!!!

FIRST LITTLE WAVE OF INFO, MUCH MORE TO COME!!!!!

QUANTUM DOTS!!!!

Soon my friends I'm going to be very lucky to run a Quantum Dot LED grow light! :) :)

BELOW IS SOME GENERAL INFO COPIED AND PASTED FROM THE NANOCO SITE!

WHAT ARE QUANTUM DOTS AND CFQD

Quantum dots are fluorescent semiconductor nanoparticles typically between 10 to 100 atoms in diameter, which is about 1/1000th the width of a human hair.

When one of these particles is excited by an external light source, it absorbs the energy and re-emits the light in a different colour depending on the size of the particle. Therefore, by tuning the size of these particles, one is able to control the colour of light emitted to any colour in the spectrum.

Quantum dots are energy efficient, bright and versatile, making it a true platform technology

with applications spanning from LCD displays, lighting to biomedical applications. Moreover, Nanoco's innovative technology allows for the manufacture of highly efficient quantum dots that are completely cadmium and heavy-metal free.

END OF PASTE

So my friends Some more info on our area of application and these are my words off the top of my head at present. (my head is spinning a bit with all the info I have to wade through etc)

Budmaster are producing these world first new generation grow lights. They are using the only heavy metal free quantum dots that still achieve the same levels as the heavy metal based quantums! Obviously being a environmentally responsible company is a consideration they take seriously. These quantum dots will be sandwiched in a this layer of a screen, this is then lit by NEW bespoke LED's from behind.

Now using the sizing of the dots as well as the NEW bespoke LED's and special screens that don't interfere with their output means that the spectral output can be dialled into levels never seen by any other type of lighting. So now the tech is present to actually dial the wavelength's in to fit specific plant species!
Also there is no change to the spectral output when measuring over any distance (unless interference from ambient light) like normal led grow lights do as the colour changes up and down. So you can measure anywhere in a tent and get totally even and consistent readings!

Now these dots are going to be everywhere soon enough, one development for these Quantum dots (a special blend) is going to be aiding in the fight against cancer! The special blend are fitted with some kind of cancer receptor, then they can be injected into the body! Then they attach themselves to any Cancerous area and then with any extra light source is introduced they light up showing the exact area to be cut out etc.

Anyway my friends this is my news and its going to keep coming over the next few weeks I'm sure as I have lots to read and more documents to receive and pics etc, etc.

CHEERS AND ILL UPDATE AS I GET MORE INDEPTH :) :420:

lol , i put a 90 offer in and then i said feck it and retracted it , i thought to my self ill be staying clear of autos after this run , but if i get the seeds for free with the spraying ill just let them sit with the veg plants , ive plenty of light and that saved me the extra ton :)
