Hmmmm, so you meet a TOTAL STRANGER, give them YOUR cash and receive a currency you know NOTHING about? Doesn't inspire confidence in me mate....sorry. Best way is join a credit union, get their debit card and use it......like I do :)

last reply on this,i promise LA. if anyone would want to discuss stuff like this further, i started a thread the other day on what people do to minimize risk in purchasing stuff.

OZ, i respect that totally. in truth, if someone wanted to try out using Bitcoin, you don't have to walk up to a stranger and buy it for cash. you can buy it from on line exchanges just like you would do if you were buying stocks or exchanging currency. you don;t have to use cash, you can use just about any other purchasing approach that is used for other on line purchases: credit card, debit card, wire transfer, even paying at a 7/11 or walmart. all of those approaches leave a trail to the buyer however. when someone opts to use cash, they go through a website that allows them to pick sellers who have been vetted or rated by prior buyers. it basically works just like craig's list. once they pick who they want, they contact them and work out where to meet for the sale, etc. but that kind of approach isn't for everybody. that's fine. for me,i think im willing to sacrifice a fair amount of convenience to minimize exposure. as i said, i haven't done it yet but i probably will. i would love to hear from as many people as possible on what they do and why on the thread over in the FAQ section. time for me to let LA get back his thread and post more pictures of Ms. Gitt.

hi all,

bit coins is a safe option, their was a dealing site on the net and you paid for what you wanted using bit coins then you would get your delivery, i cant give names on here but im a member of a hacking community and been reading up on bit coins, anyways this site got busted and the police confiscated so many million pounds worth of bit coins, these coins are now going to be auctioned off to the highest bidders,

so bit coins is clearly something that is taken seriously as these bit coins that was confiscated are being auctioned off so they do actually stand as a form of currency, chances are in the future we wont be using hard cash, it will all be a form of credit and we will pay for goods using finger prints or cards or even our mobile phones, but its clear the future will be with virtual money where we just own a number instead of cold hard cash, as long as its spendable and the amount is fully honoured then i dont see it being a problem.

its just a step up from cheques, after all a cheque is a piece of paper with numbers on it, its not actually cold hard cash, so bit coins is the exact same process apart from it being the currency for your country its a currency of bit coins, which can be exchanged for cash and spent as cash,

so cold hard cash will be a thing of the past, your best option is to invest in precious metals, if you wanted a long term investment then go out and buy gold/silver/platinum or paladium, silver is cheap to but at the minute, not talking silver jewelery which is only 92.5% pure im talking silver rounds or silver bars, i buy 1oz silver rounds which are 99.9999% pure which is as pure as you can get it, precious metals will keep getting more expensive as less and less is coming out the ground, if i could afford gold id buy gold but i cant so i invest in silver, at least then if the money market collapses like it has in some countries then you still have value in precious metals, so this will always hold its value where as a £20 note is only going to be worth £20 in 10 years time
if you buy an oz of silver for £20 then in 10 years time that £20 or 1oz of silver will be easily worth £30, so for a long term investment go with precious metals,

anyways enough of my financial advice, bit coins is legit and is as good as having cold hard cash, its like paypal, you dont actually have the cash but you can spend it or withdraw it if you really wanted to

Bitcoin becomes broken once someone gains 51% of all bitcoins in circulation. The only reason this hasn't happened already is the current large bitcoin miners have promised they won't group up and make it happen. Someone will though.

Because of this great site, I can announce that my future ventures green will be with the backing of a couple of very gracious sponsors! Many of you know I am moving to better premises soon, this will bring with it a wind of change! :) I will be entering the world of LED with the backing of Budmaster II LED!!! :) :):riskybusiness: (I shall be needing sun glasses soon)
Alongside the wonders of LED I shall also be submersing myself in the wonders of ebb and flow systems :)
This is being provided by another of this great sites sponsors Oxygen Pot Systems!!!
Thanks to the great sponsorship of these two very gracious brands I will soon unleash a big green wave of wonder and hopefully share plenty of learning and experimentation along the way! So watch this space soon folks ! :)

More details as the time draws nearer!! Best of weed to all!

Congrats on being snatched up by a couple of sponsors LA. If anyone deserves it you do.

On those bit coins, I read a long article on those almost 2yrs ago about how people were using them to do not quit so legal business online. Not that the bit coins weren't legit but it was the fact that they could be turned into hard cash without being traced because they're not actual currency. That was enough to let me know it's something I wasn't ready to be involved with.

Many thanks indeed Mick, Nerfbane and B A R! :) Yeah I get you Reg its a weird one as don't really know why they got mentioned lol. I just was wondering about YouTube was all. Bit coins sounds daft and easily leading to misuse in a way that would never interest me either! :) Best of buds to you all guys! Here are a few lights out pics :)

I'm not entirely that happy with her, as said I got a stunt in budding early on. This now seems to be sorting itself out. Simply didn't panic and just watered with PH'd water For 3 days. :)
