Over the last two days I’ve been stripping some of the plants down. The hps side of the tent is definitely behind the led side. This may have been down to me running a fairly old bulb, I’ve now replaced that with a new one. I’ve stripped the Tangie clone today as I’m keen to see how she responds before I get to work on her mum. I’ve just been giving them fresh water while I’m defoliating, once I’m finished with them they will all get a nice fresh res with my bud boosters introduced.

It’s 1.5m x 1.5m which is about 1.5m x 1.5m too small! There are a couple that have got some potential but that depends on how I perform! Lol. How are you mate?

Not bad buddy. I have an unexpected day off so I'm in the garden trying to get as much done as possible. I've just dropped the Phantom OG lol, I'm going to try and fill the 1mx1m ŵith just the one plant. How's the Zkittles coming on?

Phantom Og!!...I can hear you laughing that they forgot to send me it!!!! This Pink Kush replacement better turn fluorescent or im not going to be happy! Lol. The Gorrilla Zkittlez is good mate, nice strong seeds. Pics are in my other journal. Should start to get interesting in the next week or two.

Lol, you say that but it was really hard for me to choose between the Pink Kush, Orange Sherbert and the Shishkaberry. In the end I went with Shishkaberry and Orange Sherbert because I've grown a lot of OG Kush strains recently. The Shishkaberry wasn't in stock though and they offered a Strawberry Lemonade instead which I though would be good to grow next to the Blue Gelato 41 I already choose. I didn't realise that you had another journal, I'm off there now

Strawberry Lemonade and Blue Gelato sound really nice. I already know I’m putting another seed order in next promo!

I'm waiting for the 20th of April. I bet it'll be possible to get around 20 free seeds for £40-£50 of played tactically. Last year they gave 15 free seeds before counting the UFO freebies and the payment freebies and I didn't have any money lol

Finished off the defoliation today (3 weeks since flip). I’m really happy with this grow so far. The plants that were stripped yesterday are recovering nicely and without all those leaves everywhere I can drop my humidity down to 35%. Bring on the frost!

Started the res changing today. I’ve now given them 40 ml bloom
20ml sumo boost
30 ml calmag
20ml p/k booster
20ml silicon
10ml healthy roots
Ph 5.7
The Fruit Spirit #2 is not half the plant that the #1 cut is. The hps side which it sits on could be a little slower but even so the structure and bud formation is nowhere near as impressive. Fingers crossed it’s flavour where she excels.

Of the two Tangies the mother is way in front of the clone I made of her. Again the mother is getting the benefit of both lights sat in the middle of the tent and the clone is on the hps side. Smells of tangerine and haze

The Blue Mistic is looking ok. I’m hoping for the blueberry side to come out in this one but first smell of the early trichomes and i’m not getting anything great.

I’ve been continuing with the res changing today. All the plants look happy apart from the Blue Mistic which doesn’t look bad but you know when you can just tell something isn’t right. Sure enough the ph had dropped to 5.3 so I’ve topped up and reset to 5.7.

That would be fantastic. I’ve set my target at 30 oz again. I missed it last run with nearly 26 oz but these seem like they could beat that.

Not much to report today apart from my oscillating fan has been rubbing on a Blue Mistic top cola all night! Not happy and the ph dropped out to 5.4 again. I’m unsure why as all the others have exactly the same and are stable. She is showing slight tip burn so maybe it’s a little hot for her. As I top up with fresh water hopefully this is rectified if it’s no better in a day I’ll change out the res again.

Veg tent update:

So last Saturday I stripped some of my plants in veg, crushed and bent the stems then held them in place with some garden wire. I love the speed of growth with hydro and here are some before and after shots

Six days later..

I’m probably going to flip 4 in the flower tent next run as I think anymore would be really hectic , keep one as a mother as I absolutely love this strain and bring the last one on for a scrog in a 3rd 1m x 1m tent I have. Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend. I’ll be taking lots of pics of the flower tent later along with an update.

Once your system and nutes are dialled in it’s hard to keep control over them, the growth in hydro is explosive. By stripping all the leaves off during veg the plant will use its energy on fattening the stems and the tops that are left. I think of it as building the platform as you can have a sizeable looking plant but once stripped very little structure for big yields. I must stress though getting everything dialled in first is the key to any training.

If you’re unsure about anything just ask mate. Im looking forward to seeing what your QB can do using this method. I’m going to be upgrading my flower tent lights soon and QBs are at the top of my list.

Thanks mate, I was hoping for some training technique help on the way. Got amazing help/tips from ganjagrandaddy for the basics and startup already so now it comes to filling out the room properly to get the most out of them

I was going to get a timber set up but I don’t think they make them anymore. As soon as I’m ready to purchase I’ll do some research. I’m not worried if it’s a kit or ready to go. I don’t really want to go buying materials to make my own frames and stuff if I can help it though. I do enough of that at work. Lol.
