Hey dizzy, got a very similar grow like yours on the go (19 days old). Using soil/perlite under a 400 watt hps. I will look in now n then to see if I can pick up any pointers. Cheers, peace out

Soil/perilite doesn't tell me much man lol did u use any Ewc or compost. And what % soil vs % perilite

Re: Let's get this tent setup so we can get these Herbie seeds to cracking the soil :

Nice pineapple Peyton looking yummy, and I have the material for the scrog not gonna worry about until my plants get about 16-20in from the light :) I assume that is sufficient distance?!?

They'll at least double in size when they stretch. And when you scrog, you don't grow the plants up, you grow them flat and wide. If they grow upward then it's just a support screen not a scrog. When I go to flower there will be no need to lollipop cause all growth is even already. If not, find the tutorial by Light Addict called tut style. Might be what you want to try, or at least give it a look. Improves your yield

I'm gonna try and squeeze "9" 3gals in my 4x4 may be smart to do 6 or 7

Re: Let's get this tent setup so we can get these Herbie seeds to cracking the soil :

I have 9 plants in 5 gallon pots in 5X5 tent and it was too many. I had to move them around a lot for watering and rotating for light. It seems to have been hard on the plants and it left no room in there for me. The tent has nice side windows but that doesn't help with getting to the back plants for watering. Plus the plants had to be too close together. I don't know if you set up plan will have the same impact on you like it did me. My plants are over crowded and they aren't even as big as they can get. I am going with 6 next time to see how that works. Hope this helps you to make your decision.

I may do 3 down the center row directly under the light and two staggered on each side I'm gonna experiment with empty buckets before I finalize the idea. Btw guys fox farm ocean fires and other fox farm bytes are on the way

Re: Let's get this tent setup so we can get these Herbie seeds to cracking the soil :

That sounds like a great idea for a dry run. My problem with too many plants was high RH, and I needed to handle/move them around too much. At week 5 I figured out they had hermied and I found seeds. Seeds everywhere. But now I know exactly what and WHERE to look for those darn pollen sacs that hide very well. Like you this is my first grow so I am finishing and chopping them early so I can move onto the next set of plants hopefully with better success.

Do you have plants in veg already?? I can't remember right now without back over previous posts. sorry

No I'm waiting on my cfls to come in I'm not started anything until I have EVERYTHING I need which next week there should be some green popping out of the dirt :). I'm Unaware of how to spot pollen sacks. But hey, you live and u learn. I'm gonna let u guys choose which seeds to grow I have 14 seeds and 5 different kind so we shall experiment together :volcano-smiley:

Re: Let's get this tent setup so we can get these Herbie seeds to cracking the soil :

Yea, I know how excited you are and wish I had been more like you when I first started. I planted a seed on Feb 1st then asked "now what??' I made so many mistakes on that poor mama plant I cannot believe she is still alive. So she must be a hardy strain, but I did something wrong to make her cloned plant hermie.

I am not the expert but I am thinking you could start those seeds now. You do not have to have special cfl in beginning. I use a small lamp with 13 wt cfl for clones. They do great under that. When I transition them to the T-5 I have to do it slowly and watch close. I one keel over in just 15 minutes. Lesson learned.

Some one sent me some great pictures with wonderful explanation of of the pollen sacs. Those pics along with inspecting my plants and seeing where to opened sacs were located really made all the pieces come together for me. My plants showed no signs of hermie before the 12/12 cycle so I did stress them.

Yeah see I'm gonna be going straight from 18w cfls to 600w mh I'm still reading a safe transition method. I don't wanna to kill my babies in the light changing process so any input would help for u whom are sub'd! :)

Re: Let's get this tent setup so we can get these Herbie seeds to cracking the soil :

I do not have a mh light but when I transition my clones from cfl to T5 I put the plants off to the side of the light and watch them close. If they do OK there, I put them under the light and watch them even closer. If they start to wilt their leaves I remove them and try again the next day. For me this has worked and if they make it an hour I start to relax.

Sorry dizzy,I will explain a bit better. Using john innes #2 soil, sourced from local garden centre.standard peat n loam stuff.about 75% soil-25% perlite. I have a journal on the go at the moment, unsure how you post a link but its call, the beginin has begun.check it out and you'll see how I'm getting on with my soil
