Let's Find a Mother! Hiking Through a Field of Mary Jane

I cant say anything about using zone and hygrozyme together. No clue.

But I can say don't worry about a little bit of foam or whatever left over for the next day or two. It'll go away. Think of it like peroxide on a bit of road rash. There's just a little bit in there still and it's cleaning up.

Sweet setup.

Thanks Doc. I've put a lot into it. :thanks:

There is very little foam left. I had a lot when I first switched back to sterile. It's gotten less and less with each application of H2O2. There is so little this time, I think I can stop using it for now. Thanks again for the advice Bassman :Namaste:

I finished the flush. I made the res of just water and H2O2. Instead of flooding for a few hours, like you suggested, I setup the timer to do back to back food and drain cycles for six hours. I set an alarm and went to bed. When I got up and checked on things, the drain pump was airlocked. They had been soaking, but the bulk of the res had not been used up, so I set it up to do the quick flood and drains over night. I did this so that more of the res would get cycled through the system. When they woke up earlier tonight, I drained the res and then mixed up a new res following the GH bloom schedule. I did add some Hygrozyme (Sorry X, still seeing floaty stuff I'm hoping it will take care of), DM Zone, and a little Superthrive, but no more H2O2. :)

One of my strains (2 plants) are starting to claw a little. I don't see any signs of burn anywhere, but I did use less Gro this time. They are still very healthy, so I'm not too worried. It's just part of the joy that comes with growing 9 different strains with a shared reservoir. :morenutes:

Hey Hiker - honestly, I've only used Hygrozyme and Zone together for a short period a year or two ago, so I don't have a lot of feedback for using them that way. For reasons I can't remember all the specifics of, I didn't like the way my reservoir looked when I combined them. I don't remember what it was, but I stopped combining them right away. I want to say there was overly much foam and particulates with them both together, but again, I really don't remember the specifics. I've been happiest running "Zone" on it's own so far. But, every situation is different and others DO use them together happily, so it's not necessarily something to avoid. Glad to hear things sound like they are responding well! :)

Just wanted to see what ya got growing on over here. Man flower room looks perfect. Seems like you got it dialed in dude. I'll be looking in here and there iffin ya don't mind.
I just started using some Hygrozime. Little enzymes are suppose to eat the dead organic material. I've heard great things about it in hyro. I'm using as a drench for soil myself, but it will help with Root Rot and Pythium. I guess it work like maggots eating a infection or dead tussiue away from good normal tissiue. Not 100% sure. But I have alot of sluggish looking roots from colder temps. I want to see if the roots whiten up abit with it. Hey you kill the pythium and algae off, should cut into fugus gnats food supplies. Organic fert's can make a mess in your res too. I'm no hydro person myself. I know alot here are more knowledgable them I am with them. I still need to scroll back and see what all you have in there. I'll figgure that soon enough. But wanted to tell ya that's a nice flower room you got going. Looking forward to seeing the buddage shots. Repping ya++ and Keepem Green

Thanks X. I have some particulate in the res, but I've been assuming it's leftover garbage from the tubing. I did change out a lot of it when I removed the 9 males, but not all of it. Everything look fine though. There are the occasional floaty thing, but the res is clear and smells fine. Plants look good. Roots look good. I think my alarm was for nothing. They look real brown, but I think it's staining, they don't feel slimy at all and I see new growth, so all is well.

I'm not sure about the Hygrozyme yet. I'm inclined to not fix what aint broke, but I'm sure I'll stop using it before the crop is harvested.

Thanks for stopping by. The bud porn should get a lot better very soon. :)

Glad everything is getting better on your end.
Even if it was a false alarm better to be safe than sorry.

LOL sorry about that. I didn't know. It just so happens I have been taking a LOT of photos the last couple of days. I'm working on their flowering defoliation. It takes soooooo long to get in there and remove all those leaves on these bushes, but they look so much better after. :)

Stay tuned. I'll try to get more pics up today, but pretty busy with work this morning.

I'll check out the vids a little later. I always use safe browsing practices with this site, so can't sign in to Youtube right now. I'll definitely check them out later.

That's how all basements should look like! Well done man.

Thank you :Namaste:

It's kind of funny. Now that I know what basements are for , I drive around looking at houses and always wonder about if it has a basement, and if so, how big is it? does it have a drain? How well insulated is it? LOL My wife laughs every time :)

Haha, glad to be i'm not alone to do that, i'm currently looking for a house, there is so much choice! I need a little farm or something, that's heaven for me!

BIG pic update coming!!!

I've been very busy downstairs the last few days. I'm working through a big upload, but RL work keeps getting in the way.

Stay tuned!:bong:

Thanks for the reps hiker bro!
Things sound to be going well.
But after I see these new photos, I'll most definitely be returning the favor! ;)

You guys made me laugh :biglaugh:

I said it was a BIG update! I made it through reviewing them all. Got them stripped of EXIF data, now I'm waiting for them to finish uploading. Then I have to tag them all, then I can finally add them to a post here. All of this will happen in between getting work done for the real job. It will be a couple more hours at least.

I will however share some news I was saving for the update, but since there are no pictures related to it...

While defoliating last night, as I snipped off a large shade leaf, I see a little 'poof' of dust! WTF!?!?!?! :yikes: :trance::bitingnails:

My Cheese Bomb is a hermie! I sprayed the area with water quickly, and I don't think any got into the flowering room. I started a careful inspection, and thought there were only a couple. I pinched those off and started to continue the defoliation. I thought I could just keep a close eye on the plant. Then I clipped another leaf and another 'poof' of pollen. ARRRGGG! That was the end of that plant. I set it far away from the flowering room and moved on to the last bucket that contained the 2 runts, one of which is the other Cheese Bomb. I removed a few of the leaves from the other CB to aid in inspection. I thought that plant was fine, but eventually I found balls on her too. I've dealt with hermies before. I've only seen them in late flowering though. I'm not sure if I did anything to trigger them to do this. I know it's a sensitive strain, so I'm willing to accept I caused it. Either way, I took both of them out of the room. So 2 less plants, and one less bucket.

I'm concerned about having to leave most of the root system in the runt bucket. I'll just run Hygrozyme all the way through to the end of the grow and hope it can deal with all that decaying matter.

The little Cheese Bomb got cut up and stuffed into a paper bag to dry. I snipped off some of the tops, but they are gonna suck. Way undeveloped at only day 26. The larger one is still in it's bucket, but it's just sitting near the veg area. I'll take her down tonight before she starts throwing more pollen. These didn't look like other hermies I've seen. The male flowers came in sort of buried inside the female flowers. Maybe they weren't all that unusual for a hermie. It's just been awhile since I've seen one. I sure hope I caught it in time.

So I'm 0/2 on strains from Bomb Seeds. All 3 THC Bomb plants were male. Now the 2, of 3, Cheese Bomb seeds that made it this far, are gone. I have to say, I cannot endorse Bomb Seeds right now. I know it's unfair, but I've not had any success with them... yet. I still have 7 more seeds of both strains, so I will try them again in the future. I think the universe is helping me reduce the number of strains I'm working with. Going into this I said I would eventually thin down to only a few strains, but as time went on, it looked more and more like I would try to keep them all going. In fact, I have 6 strains remaining and am keeping a mother, and in 2 cases a father, of all of them. I will not be trying the Bomb Seed strains or the Bubblicious again for a long time. I was upset at first, but in the long run, this is a good thing. I've got some quality strains going that will provide plenty to keep me busy and interested for a long long time.

OK time to go check on that upload and get some more work done. Pics coming soon(ish)! :Namaste:
