Lembatoast's 2017 - Last Hurrah - Grow Journal

Welcome CaliBoy559, glad to have you aboard. I got extremely productive today. I redid my indoor grow room and set it up for the Geo Planter I got for GJOTY and Clones. I first cleaned the grow room and bombed it.

Then I took the Geo Planter out of the box and set it up.

Next I set up the lights I got. The first one is the Mars Hydro.

The next is the Lumini Grow 200.

Here they are mounted.

Next I had to mix the soil. I bought 6 1 3/4 cubic foot bags of Coir Fiber. The Geo Planter holds 16 cubic feet so I made up the difference with my existing soil.

Then I took it 2 5 gallon buckets at a time and filled the Geo Planter

DSCN088110.JPG
I was going to put 13 plants in the planter. But that seemed a little busy.
DSCN088210.JPG
So I decided to go with just 9 plants.
DSCN08839.JPG
I fimmed all 9 plants to get 5 good branches from each plant.
DSCN088513.JPG
All the plants are the same UltraDawg X Punta Roja. That was my favorite one I grew last year. I got to go set up the rest of the room and drop the lights. Then there will be more pix of the finished project. So stay tuned. Toast

Lovin' your monoculture megaplanter. Surprised at your energy:rofl: Thanks for sharing.

Hello all my friends and any one new I pick up along the way. I wasn't going to go through what it takes to grow the way I do, but I was convinced to go one more time. So here we go. I want to first tell my friends that follow my Journal's on a regular basis, one of the last things I wrote in 2016's Journal was that I had received a bunch of Girl Scout Cookie, Sour Diesel, and Green Crack seeds, I have been trying sense the first of December to germinate those seeds with no success. So it looks like those are out of this round. Ok I grow 100% totally organic Cannabis in soil. I mix my own soil. The ingredients are 1- Large bag of Super Soil, 1/3 cup of Worm Castings, 1/3 cup Bone Meal, 1/3 cup Blood Meal, 3/4 cup of Epsom Salt, 1/2 cup Dolomite Lime, 1/3 cup Bat Guano, 1/3 cup of Gypsum, 1/3 cup of Chicken manure and 1 large bag of Peralite. You mix that all together, wet it down real good and let it set for a couple months. I usually mix mine in December or January so that its ready come spring. Right now I have 21 plants that will be Mothers for this next Outdoor Grow. There are 6 - EF's (EL Fuego), 2 - JD'S ( One of my strains JackDawg ), 4 - JDS's (A LemCon production UltraDawg X Jarillo De Sanola ), 4 UD X PR ( Another LemCon production UltraDawg X Punta Roja ), 1 - BWOG ( BlackWater O.G., 2 - SLH's ( Super Lemon Haze from Green House ), 1 - Super Silver Haze, 1 - PK ( Pure Kush ), and 8 - Unknown seedling's.

my indoor grow room is 8 X 8 and was constructed of 2 x 4 studs, 3/8 in Plywood covered with 6mil black plastic on the inside, I used 8 ft X 6 in Cedar Fence material for the floor, 3 90 cubic ft per min. Exhaust fans, piped out the top to a Turbine Roof Vent in the top of my garage. There are 2 air intake Fans 1 90 cubic ft per min., and a 1600 cubic ft per min. Squirrel Cage Blower. I also have a portable Swamp Cooler that I stick in the door when it get real hot. On the inside I staple up White Butcher Paper ( Dull side out ). I use 2 600 watt HPS's when flowering and any number of 125 watt CFL's for Vegging.

As far as plants that are not destin for the Hill or the Planter's #1 and #2, I try to use Air Pot's for their great root production, I only have 25 so I also use 5 gal buckets and other large portable containers. That's all I can think of to start with so I guess I will see you on the flip side. Keep it green people. TOAST
I see your using RootMaker pots how do you like them? I myself ordered some small ones for the small veg period now I hear that it's not good to transplant autoflower is that true?

Banditfrombir, I love the Air Pots, they do exactly as advertised. There are some draw backs. They are very messy as the water runs out the holes and goes every where. You stop that by setting them in saucers when watering. They also dry out twice as fast as regular nursery pots. As far as Auto-Flowers go I have only grown 2 AK-49 free seeds I got from The Single Seed Center both stunted just from having the fan blow on them, so I would say they are probably touchy on the transplant, but I don't know for sure. Hope that helps. TOAST

Nice Light setup toast. how big are you getting them in the giant planter?
Yea, nice setup. I go through a lot of threads on what lights, soils, grow room setups to use. Usually someone sayin if you don't spend X amount of dollars, it just ain't gonna work. Everything in Toast's journal looks plain and simple and obviously works very, very well. The plants always look amazing.

HG, I just Fimmed them and plan to stretch the side branches and Scrog. So I went up to do some Hill Prep., and look who was there to greet me a good day.
DSCN090810.JPG
This is not the longest one I've got but it is the fattest. You cant tell in this pix but it just finished eating a big ass rat. Every day is just a thrill ride. It's so cool.

Looks like a rattlesnake. I usually just worry about busting my ass walking through the brush to get to the plants but THAT takes growing to another level. Enjoyed your last journal toast, thanks for the knowledge

Fuck yeah Toast I gotta check this out again when I have time extremely busy looking good though!

Is that snake poisonous?

Much love. Spooks .

Western Diamondback is either the 1st or 2nd deadliest rattlesnake in US history - nowadays there are about 5 rattlesnake deaths a year. But many thousands of non-fatal bites a year.

I prefer my deadly critters to strike slower. You gotta be a real DumbA** to get venom chewed into you by a Gila Monster :)

So you all know that I Fimmed the plants in the Geo Planter. The side branches didn't do what I wanted them to do.

I decided to top them so they would be all the same hight and give the side branches a chance to grow more.
DSCN091314.JPG
DSCN091412.JPG
This is my first SCROG so I'm kinda guessing on how to get the most coverage. I figure if I can get 5 good branches on each plant that should fill the planter. Hopefully. TOAST

So, you decided to capture it? Or did he just crawl in there on his own.

That's a beautiful rattlesnake! They're excellent predators for keeping mice numbers down, and even if you're unlucky enough to get bitten it just hurts like hell and you're unlikely to croak.

Today I started getting the Hill ready. First I shored up the retaining walls on these two planting areas.
DSCN091510.JPG
DSCN091612.JPG
Then I cut away the back of this planting area.
DSCN091712.JPG
You see where those PVC pipes are sticking out of the ground, that was the back of last years holes.
DSCN091814.JPG
Then I cut away the hill to open up that area for larger and deeper holes.
DSCN09199.JPG
I will eliminate space for three plants, but should make up the difference in size.
DSCN092010.JPG
I cemented rocks together to enlarge and deepen the whole above where I cut the Hill away. TOAST
