I also raised my think big auto today .her canopy sits 18 inches from perectsun goliath and no ill effect she seems to have enjoyed it hope this helps

wow that s close if @LEDRF will see this pic he will flip )
currently my light is 3feet(90cm) from most of the canopy except form the ones at the back that are at about 2.2-2.5 feet away from the light . from what Ive seen in your journal you are already getting stress on the top leaves . they are twisting and turning , I got that when the light was too close to my plants . no chance to raise it higher ? I have a almost 7 foot high tent so lots of space to play .

Yeah I know. Double LEDRF! lol

Only the new growth is twisting, but I know that is probably not a good thing. I can remove the ratchets and bring it up another 5", but that's about it. Last resort I will supercrop those ladies.

That's the magic number from what I hear. You're lucky you do not have to deal with a light mover. Every time I tried lifting the light up using the rope/ratchets the damn robostick tilted or the whole thing including the light rail move up. I had to rest the PS1000 on empty boxes in order for the light ratchets to work. Ha... ha... major PITA.

I got myself a pair of these for the PS1000 . they seem like they can take a lot and very easy to move up and down . I think I missed the pics where u show how u setup your PS1000 but if you need some tips I can snap some pics of mine , working fine for me atm

those ratchets will hold good weight but put an extra knot in where there are knotted as the clamps can come loose.

going to do that now lol I also put in a safety system in case one or both fail using the original metal hanging wires and some strong wires and tied it to the tent , just in case , I don t know if it will hold but I hope I never find out ))

I have those and you just reminded me that I need to remove them to get another 5" since my plants just keep on growing. It's the way the rail is attached to the tent frame/pole that is causing the headaches whenever I need to adjust it. If I lift one side, the rail and robostick will actually rotate and bring down the opposite side of the PS1000. If I lift both sides up at the same time, the light rail, PS1000 and everything else attached to it including the frame/pole lifts up with it so the ratchets do not do anything when I pull on them. lol.... In order to adjust the height, I need to put something under the PS1000 (like a box) to hold the weight and position it to the height I want and then the ratchets work. My setup is on the first page of my grow journal (post #15).

OH, you are on a rail. That's why your plants didn't fry up, lol. OMG, if your light wasn't moving, at 4 inches away, say buy bye plants. Even on a rail, after a week that close, they will be way stressed out, if not starting to bleach. Too much light will actually stunt plant growth.

I am talking about the ones build into the PS 1000 hangers. Another way is I lift under the hanging mechanism, then pull the wire, then do the same to the other side until it is balanced.

BTW- how far is the PS1000 now from the plants?
I had one plant (Electric Fruit) 4" away from the light yesterday and it did not burn or anything. I just move the light up again and now is about 8" away.

good luck with that. I burned my plants when the PS1000 was about 8 inches away. I think because I make mine travel the distance slowly it makes it easier to burn the plants. if my plants get close to the light this grow I will speed the light travel time up

What up LEDRF!!!!!! You must be cracking up at all the newbness. Is there such a thing as plant sunscreen? Ha.. ha... I think my plants are bionic. It was only that close for 1 day. What's funny is when I bent it over the next day it twisted back up at the end at almost the same height as before. I did the same thing to the AutoMazar yesterday by mistake (bent it to far while trying to get behind the plant) and today it is straight like it was never bent over. lol.

The ones built into the PS1000 are already all the way up. After I take the other ratchets out today, there is no more going up my friend. They are gonna have to deal with it.

was away for a couple of days . update in the morning . all going strong
I managed to mix up all the plants with little chance of knowing who is what but now with buds forming I am starting to get an idea again

Yes, have they retracted yet into the buds? Can't see your photos on phone. Also could need to harvest it in stages.

how far in are the autos now? the photos still have a way to go but the autos dont look a million miles from finishing. I will say I dont have huge experience with autos as they never appealled to me because i cant see how they are better than photo plants in any way. However get a magnifying glass or jewellers loupe and look at the trichs, they will tell you when the plant is ready to harvest. look for 30% amber trichs.

The autos are 11 Weeks old today . Just the top buds seem pretty close to finishing , the bottom ones still look like the could use another 2 weeks . maybe the auto gurus could weigh in a little here .
From what I see they finish a lot faster than the photos when topped and LST and can produce a great amount of bud . i think the hours of light lost will deff take its toll on the auto sisters but will see also , my eye is not really trained to recognize trichs . I will try to snap a pic .
