LA's Daft New Multiple Test - With Remo Nutrients & Budmaster's New Tech!

Yeah, I really want to try that dry ice method. Most people I see on YouTube have a big ol piece of glass or a mirror they shake it on to. It looks like a ton of material from a couple ounces though.

I've got the original GOD 1200 too. Seems like our grows might particularly benefit from the Emersons!

Happy days my friend!

Yup Dr :)

Here are my 3 above round, just waiting on some space in my shot glasses for more auto a poppin! Notice as said the sunrise lagging behind! Then the one in a rectangular pot is the the ultimately and is just being fluxed in that small pot for giggles really :)

I heard that an auto will stay in veg until it's roots fill out the grow space = bigger pots = more time to train. Is this true LA? Are you going to ruin that Emerson in the auto tent? Sorry for all the queries lol! Morning coffee gets the best of me sometimes.

Lol morning coffee, I'm in the last 2 hrs of last 12 hr shift in 4 days, got 4 off now though :)

OK so with autos it really does come down to the genetics. When I started I always went with what at the time were called super autos, meaning just the biggest autos on market, such as think diff etc. These girls are big enough for training although its all done early on.
Now things have changed somewhat with autos, yet its still the fact if you want to train go for the large autos. Then as to the question on the veg time in correlation to the root zone, this is kind of true lol, again you have to take in genetics but with all autos I've done and its probs a good few hundred now lol, my personal outlook on the roots is yes it does have a significant ties to the plants cycle. If you run plastic pots especially as air prooning doesent come into play!
Its mostly the tap root in my experience, give her free run to a good depth and you get some time to play! ;) Also some strains are big vigorous from start and some are stretchers, working out which youve got beforehand is a good start. Stretchy autos are a buggwer in my opinion, but that as they don't suit my style!
One big key for my auto successes is my tip opening thing as it helps stack nodes and autos are already busting their gut to do this so its bumper buds if done enough! ;)

Emerson hmm I may indeed run it in my cupboard, I'm not sure as have so much going on at mo I got to work out where I'm gonna use it first. Not much point if I use any of my 2nd gen god lamps so really not sure what lamps going where yet :)

Thanks LA! For the info on autos and training. I'm at such a loss for space I've got to stock to the photos for a while. But I've got an auto Chemdawg from HSO freebie that's been calling my name. As soon as I get some room in my little veg cabinet in going to sprout her.

I'll put it in a 5 gallon felt pot. HSO genetics have really impressed me. And they still are giving away tons of beans on freebie offers from numerous seed banks. Very cool as most stop the freebies once the orders start coming in.

Man I'm babbling today! :Namaste:

Not done the hso Chemdawg, what I will say is their autos ain't that trainable! I had a long talk with one half of hso in Prague and he asked my opinion on em. Well I was honest and told him they may be awesome smoke etc yet the way they're bred means they have a stretch period and a part where they elongate between nodes. Now this trait is awesome in photo strains etc for bud space, autos you want em stacking from the off.
This is where DP come in as they do basically invent or at least bring autos to market, so they're damn fine for training!
As for the free seeds lol, you'd never know they were the big players at hso, they're so chilled and down to earth, also they're determined not to walk down that path me thinks! I know roughly what kind of money were talking as had some insight off one of them and its mind blowing where they're at!!!, yet the two owners and all the crew are just so solid and they're really salt of the earth folks :)

Hey Jaga the hash will be fun etc yet I'll be more about getting stuff for dabbing :)

You know about hot knives or hot tongs ??
We use to do them alot I loved the adjustment on the rosin tech with the sheet you are using :thumb: its little ideas like that that just so help :420:

Taking me back to college with the mention of knife hits! We'd cut the bottom off of a 2 liter coke bottle and go to town. Just make sure you don't use your best knives since they're bound to get ruined!

Also LA I wanted to introduce myself. Have been catching up on your journals a bit. I came over this way to see your DP DL, have one going right now she is 4 weeks old to the day. First time growing any DP beans and so far this one has been awesome. Gave her some good bondage and also have been using your technique of spreading the tops out. Have noticed a ton of new growth since starting about 10 days ago.
Thanks for the great journal and looking forward to seeing more of your great projects!

Dry ice extraction works great but sticks to all surface but glass. My grow store sells the wine (grapes) bags to place over bucket of trim.

Cheers

Welcome RheinRover :) sorry I'm crap at replying lol, I tend to just like comments unless I've something useful to add :)

b.real my friend welcome!

Noob thanks for the vid post :)

Bob glad your back about spreading your humour! :)

Dr best of luck in your exams my friend! :)

Well in plant news I'm not happy one bit with the first 3 bubbas going at present. I had non of my usual recycled soil to hand so got some soil sent from Spamazon. Well it was the canna pro and its got some starting nutes in their etc, yet I'm used to my soil with its built up beneficial bacteria. To say these are small and growing shit for autos is an understatement! If people really grow fulltime in this, god I feel sorry for them!
I've grown many an auto and I've ran them under less light at the start than they're presently under. So its the soil for sure....! All 3 are crap and no where near what size I'm used to at this point!
So the moral of the story is this, "build it and they will grow!" Build your soil up folks! Now I don't claim to be a genius at this or organics. I just use bottle nutes and don't try to be a purist. To me its building your soil population with beneficials, whether out a packet or brewed up dissent matter to me! I'll use anything to hand to enrich my soil such as ashes, guano etc. I also always cut it with mainly coco, so my ratio is about 80/20 in Coco's favour!
So yup its a soil but diluted down with coco to the max. Then using any old mycos that are bennies I just blunder along using only RO water,so no,chlorine to kill my bennies off! Then as you reuse the soil over and over you also built the soil up with old broken down roots adding to the mediums structure and ability to hold a good population within the mainly coco blend!
To me this is what's important is keeping it alive at all times, then I just use whatever nutrients I'm testing at present until flushing at the end and then store away whilst moist, charging with more microbes or whatever's to hand. So yep whatever nutes I'm on I always strive to have my soil already jammed and ready to rock!

In a few days or so I've got more of my own mix available so will drop more autos in that and sit back and watch the difference! ;)

I feel so bad for using Canna Terra Pro now  I do have a few tricks up my sleeve when using it though, mainly the compost from my garden tumblers, bottled nutes and all the other amendments I leave cooking around the house. I think any soil is better with more nutrients than less though, it would be nice to see a comparison between your CTP plants and some in your own soil in the future, come on, surely you have time for just one more small experiment :)
