Landrace Genetics 101

Here’s my Malawi on Day 52 of veg. I’m thinking I will finally make the switch to flowering at the end of week 9. Hoping it becomes the monster plant I‘be been picturing in my mind since I was able to plant her in the 2nd tent.

Thank you Enjoying!
Seems this thread has quieted down a lot since I was away, hope to see some new land race post soon.
Cheers
I have obtained Ethiopia, Honduras and Nepal Annapurna from Ace. I have other seeds but those are the ones that are fitting to this thread. I forgot to grab the Lebanese and may grab the Morocco when I get around to getting the Leb if I actually do as I have other CBD options and w/o access to a lab for testing I'd just be guessing and never have a chance of achieving my goal.

If I remember I'll post pics of the stuff from Ace when I get around to growing it. Next season for me is 6 months away. Hopefully I can remember.... They will be posted in my never ending journal as I don't start new ones for new seasons. Maybe I should as I might get more feed back... I am only on my second grow so don't expect pro results =D

Is good to see you back. I was away for a little while, too. Things happen.

How many plants are there? I am guessing two. What size tent? 5' X 5'...

You would be correct. Growing in my sisters MarsHydro 5x5 tent, 550w 3500k QB, 7G fabric bags with a Lennon plant from Pyramid Seeds (Jack Herer x Pure Haze) Have them together because both require 11+ Weeks of flowering.

Do you use any nutes?
Hello I use Promix and I add blood meal, bone meal, dry chicken poo, lime and gypsum When I water I use a three gallon watering can with 1/4 teaspoon Peters 20-20-20 and before flower I add an extra 1/4 teaspoon to the three gallons of blossom booster so very light on chemical feed. More like a multi vitamin just to cover all bases I give no food the last three weeks before harvest And I grow under Galaxyhydro LED 2000W actual watt draw about 360w.

Re: Land Race genetics?

When I started smoking in the early 80s in southern BC we didn't hear of much local herb. It was mostly Thai and Jamaican. I missed smoking Thai Stick on many occasions. Everyone loved Thai stick. It's funny when I look back on it. I just assumed I'd wander out someday and get some because it seemed to be around. It was always just around the corner, 'we smoked one 2 minutes ago ya just missed it and it's all gone'. This happened constantly for a couple years and then by the mid 80s it was suddenly vanished, along with the other sativas.
'Redhair' skunk, became the ubiquitous smoke on the street, followed by a whole bunch of other increasing stronger couch lock strains through the late 80s and early 90s- like Chemo. The indica strains totally disagree with me and it took me half a lifetime to figure out what the heck happened and why I suddenly couldn't smoke anymore. I thought something had changed in my brain or something. (Things are always changing in my brain so it was a safe bet, ha ha)
I smoked my way all over SEA, India, and Central America through the rest of the 80s and 90s. Thai smoke was and is one of my favorites. A lot of it was quite mild, but once in a while we'd get some that seemed five times as strong as the rest. It would have us hallucinating. It was all full of seeds. i can't believe I didn't save some!!!!! and am always kicking myself now. I want to go back to Thailand someday to some of the exact places I lived and see if I can find those strains. What a fun quest that would be.
Like Bapple I'm realizing the indica/sativa thing in hindsight. I had no idea. The indica invasion in BC turned me off of smoking herb. I eventually all but quit for many years, and would just smoke hash, when it was available.
I want those seeds! Sob!
Hey I realize I'm hugely late getting to this party but I have to say this may be the best thread on 420, that a long with Tengwena's cob thread, Thank you Conradino. Weaselcracker you are so right about the indica invasion, I noticed in the mid-eighties when hybrids were becoming more prevalent the high from weed did change, and in my opinion not for the better, not as clear anymore. I can tell almost immediately when I smoke it if there's indica in it; there's a kind of foggyness I didn't notice before (except for Moroccan or Lebanese hash which we always said had a body stone) and I grew up with the typical sativas Mex, Thai, Jamaican, Colombian and finally when I moved to Africa lots and lots of South African matakwane. So I'm stoked to have read about someone else with the same experience.

I'm sixty-two and I remember what weed was like before so now I try to grow only sativas. It's a labour of love as they do take longer but the high is unparalleled. My favourite is Reunion Island Zamal. It is like a pharmceutical grade mood-enhancer with perfect clarity. Anyway, glad to have found this thread - it is super interesting.
