The Mulanje are very uniform, nice!
I'm hoping the XB is finished by Christmas it will be close. The Chem 91 and Blueberry F4/F5 might get chopped in 10 days or so, saw a couple of stray amber trichs on the Chem just now. I want these to be mainly cloudy.

Awesome!
Never ran Chem lines, but really dug the work that went into Blueberry
Is your Blueberry line running stable?

^^ Nanda Devi and Manipuri are getting high marks lately. Glad you could get some CG '72. Snow says his is different than USC type. I have grown several plants of USC CG , but have not yet grown out Snow's line but do have the beans.

Do not sleep on the Nanan Bouclou or C99 boys and girls, easy growing and hits the spot. Have not had any tolerance build up with either. The NB is crazy time and the C99 is sublime, oh, I made a rhyme!

High all, been lurking - love the old strains. You guys posting pics of late are knocking it out of the park!

I'm on my second grow of LSD (Circa 1963) from Elev8 seeds. Not to be confused with Barneys Farm's LSD-25. The seeds were supposedly gifted to Elev8 from an old grower to preserve the strain. The strain is Sativa Dom and a mix of Mazar X Skunk. The story is on the strain page.

I don't breed and know little about it (at least with plants ;)) Looks like I have two phenos out of the three plants. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has grown or knows this strain. Thx.

I may be totally off base but I don't think there was anything but pure Sativas from Mexico And Columbia and then Asian genetics from the Vietnam vets in California up until the late sixties? then an influx of Indicas made an appearance around then I thought? But we did invade the middle east in 1958.
And Maybe Sam the Skunk man was the first to breed Skunk early seventies?
HHHMNNN interesting, anyway great job growing those honkers! would love to here from somebody else with knowledge.

I have no knowledge, but I wonder how sativa "dom" a strain can be if it's a cross of Mazar and a skunk strain. Skunk isn't exactly a pure sativa - and from what I've read, Mazar is another name for Mazar-i-Sharif, named after the city, and a pure indica grown in (obviously) northern Afghanistan.

I guess 51% sativa is technically sativa-dominant though, lol.

Wait... Circa 1963? With those listed parents? Hmm...

'I'm on my second grow of LSD (Circa 1963) from Elev8 seeds.' 1973 instead? Have heard from Sam and others that dispute him, my guess is he is telling the truth about Skunk, but I do not know. So is the high very trippy? I hope so with that name.

Gonna pop some Island Sweet Skunk here today. It leans to the haze side of things they say.

I've wondered about that too - the time frame and this LSD supposedly being Sat. dom. I've only been growing for the past five years. Took a long break from my first grow in '73, so I'm not claiming anything, just passing on what the breeder says. To be honest, I didn't think much of the strain on my first attempt. I had some issues during the curing process, so it wasn't the best. This grow, everything is in sync (see the pics) and I'm better set up for drying and curing. We shall see..

As I mentioned earlier, I have two phenos. One being more Indica leaning and the other Sativa. I'll keep them separated and do a smoke report in a few weeks. The plants are day 55 of 11/13. I scoped them tonight and they're very close to being done.

For those who haven't checked it out, here's the description, and the story, from Elev8:

DESCRIPTION
  • Type: Sativa dominant
  • Flowering Time: 9 weeks
  • Yield: Heavy
  • Potency: Extremely potent
  • Genetics: Mazar x Skunk
  • Seed Type: Regular
"The story about how we came to acquire this strain is long but will give an idea about how valuable this strain is.

Some time ago, I met a grower that had a large collection of elite cuts that he was offering to trade for other genetics. The one strain that he had, that he did not give out to anybody, was an older version of LSD. He said that his friends bought seeds but the more current seeds never resulted in a plant as nice as his. Of course, the strain he did not want to give away was the one I was most curious about.

About six months later, an older woman called in from our website to ask about some strains. As we were talking, she mentioned that her favorite smoke of all time was a strain her friend, “J” grew called LSD. She said that he might be willing to talk to me and possibly gift some seeds. About a week later, “J” called me and told me the story about how he had acquired LSD seeds.

Back in 1963, “J” grew in the Sierra Mountains with his friend “B”. B decided to move to Europe to start a seed company but before he moved, he gave seeds that were a cross of what eventually became skunk and Mazar that he had gotten from another grower to J. Years later, the seeds that B took with him ended up becoming an indica dominant strain called LSD.

Since 1963, “J” made more seeds every decade or so and chose sativa dominant phenotypes. Out of the hundreds of strains he has grown in the last 50 years, he claims that this strain is heads and shoulders above them all. He said he was willing to gift me some seeds so that this sativa dominant version of LSD would not be eventually lost to the growing community.

One batch he grew tested in a lab at 27% THC.

The smell can be described as spiced eggnog. The high is intensely powerful and long lasting. This strain feels like you have been transported to another world."

So I did two hits of the ACE Honduras. Very nice indeed. Reminds me of the better Mexican strains of the past. Just one plant run and already a winner. Will run the rest of the seeds in the future. Guess I got the Mexican pheno.

Potency is good taste average. Puts that glow to the world after you smoke. Very positive and trippy of course. Not like the Nanan with the acid craziness but so nice.

Yesum- it looks like you've grown out most of the available vintage sativas that are out now. Do you have a favorite yet?

You mentioned Island Sweet Skunk... is it the chimera version? I just finished some Hawaiian Spice from Chimera (kauai electric x sweet skunk) and simply irresistible (NY haze x sweet skunk) and they are both top notch strains.

The best hawaiian smells like candied mango to me. My buddy said it smelled like some good Michoacan. I don't normally mix my herbs, but I've been smoking the hawaiian mixed with some punto rojo x mangobiche and it's something special. It really is elevating and energizing and trippy. It hits all the high notes for me.

And the simply irresistible is very potent and euphoric too. It is danker than I thought it would be. Red berry/skunk/BO aromas. I definitely did not get the frankincense phenotype out of the 1 plant tried. But the high is quality for sure.

I crossed both strains with a punto rojo x mangobiche male. I'm super excited about the hawaiian cross in particular. Should be a 75-90% sativa with sweet peppery mango smells and heady highs.

Nice. One question, though: If you then take six or eight more hits, does the effect go from "very nice indeed" to "amazing," lol? Or just lengthen the duration of it?
