Lady Cannafan's Seedsman Comparative Grow Banana Jealousy ViparSpectra KS5000

All but one seed have gone into the plugs. The last one is still in the paper towel waiting for the tail to pop out.

The orange flag is the twins plug.

Who will be first? The twins?? Will they come out fighting? Stay tuned.......

Here to see how it goes for you, Im sure ill learn plenty. I will be growing Banana Jealousy very soon also.

With a new light too! Congratulations!

I did a little looking into the twin seed. I'm not really sure this is a polyembryonic situation, because it's actually conjoined seeds. But interesting nonetheless.

From one of our other seed sponsors, this was posted:

TWIN SEEDLINGS

This mutation is very common. Polyembryonic seeds contain more than one seedling. Once germinated, it will produce two taproots instead of one. If carefully handled, these seedlings can be successfully separated into two plants.

Strangely, one of the two plants will be a normal offspring of both mother and father. The other plant could be a descendant or a clone of the mother.

Three-seedling polyembryonic seeds have also been reported.

And from another online source:

Despite its interesting biological marker and outcome, there is no real advantage to breeding plants with this trait. No effort has been made thus far to develop a true-breed with these characteristics.

Some cannabis seeds (polyembryonic seeds) can germinate two plants. Technically, this is a phenomenon known as polyembryony. This happens just as in the human species. In this case, however, one plant will be normal and one will be a clone of the mother.

Like with human conjoined twins, you cannot separate these seedlings too early. They can be separated when they reach between 20–25cm in height. This phenomenon should not be confused with so-called “Siamese twin” marijuana, which is a mutation in which two plants share the same root.

I'm here but I can't guarantee I'll be able to keep up. I have a hard time just keeping up with my journals these days.
:laughtwo:

I'm more interested in the Purple Ghost Candy grows since that's what I'll be growing but the 84 days of flowering has me a little worried since October is often wet.

Are the seeds all feminized? Your conjoined one looks pretty cool. I hope you can separate them without doing any damage.

Is it your intention to grow 5 plants if you separate them successfully?

Don't worry about keeping up Hashgirl. I know the dilemma on that. LOL
Not sure the twins are a polyembryonic deal, because it's conjoined seeds. So....mystery.

Yes, they are feminized seeds.

I will grow all six, if it turns out the twins grow out in a way that I can separate them. I've done some successful separating in previous grows, with root systems all kinds of tangled up. LOL

I have the kids' container sitting on a temperature controlled heat mat to keep them warm. It's still winter here and the house gets a little chilly.
I'm hoping to see a little neck or two popping out in the next 24 hours, if history repeats itself here.

I have some outdoor garden seeds germing in the container behind it.

Good Mornfternoon Friends......:green_heart:

We are well on our way. Four (maybe 5) of the seeds are sticking their necks out this morning. Still too early to tell on the twins whether it's one or two plants coming up. The last seed is a few hours behind.

I'll get some pics this afternoon when they've completely emerged.

And the moment we've all been waiting for......the twins are up and fighting! I think they are going to come out even in the fight. One appears slightly bigger than the other, but they are definitely two separate plants and roots.

@SeedsMan Thanks for the two in one!

Welcome to the Seedsman comparative grow!

First of all, I am not eligible for any prizes or contest considerations. I am in this for the fun and promoting our sponsors. I want to thank @SeedsMan for allowing me to be a part of it. I hope to learn from, and have a fun rewarding experience with all of the other participants in this comparative grow.
So, on to the details!

SeedsMan Banana Jealousy

Description

Banana Jealousy is a three-way hybrid cross of Banana Cream, Jealousy and Gelato 41 strains. This is a high-yielding strain that is relatively easy to grow such that even complete novices can have great success with it in all environments.
Banana Jealousy plants grow tall and can exceed 200cm. in height, especially when grown outdoors. Indoors, flowering takes between 8 - 10 weeks with high production between 450 - 600 gr/m2. Outdoors, or in a greenhouse, each plant can produce up to 750 gr. in ideal conditions. Suitable climates for outdoor cultivation include temperate, warm and hot regions. Northern hemisphere harvests will be ready in late September / early October while those in the southern hemisphere should be ready to harvest in March. While resistance to mould is fairly high these plants are very loud and indoor growers are advised to use good carbon air filters.
Plants produce plenty of resin and are therefore excellent for extract production. Growers can expect fruity scents and flavours (sweet, banana, Skunk) with THC levels of up to 28% while CBD is low at less than 1%, making this a very potent strain.
