UPDATE: 11-2-23
I have inoculated the two brand new All-In-One bags that
@Midwest Grow Kits sent to replace the one damaged in shipping. I was surprised there were two in there, but I am certainly happy about that.
I started by sanitizing my gloves and the area, then carefully removing the tape that holds the top down on the bag. There is tape along the top and some around it as well. You have to look a little bit to find where you can grab a piece of it and gently pull it away.
Then I held the bags up by the top to allow air to flow in through the "vent" that is placed there. I'm not sure what that is called, but it draws some air in.
I used the oven method while working, and sanitized everything again, in addition to no air movement from fans or furnaces. The oven method is supposed to draw any lingering contaminants in the air upward and away from the work space through the action of warm air rising. That's the way I understand it......
After holding the bags up for a bit to allow the air in, I continued on by wiping down the area where the needle would go with a homemade alcohol pad, then shaking up the spore syringe, wiping down the needle, heating the needle and letting it cool a few seconds, and then injecting into the bag. I made sure that needle went all the way in and moved it a little injecting a little bit here and there. The instructions will tell you how many CC's to use, I don't have them right in front of me. It wasn't very much.
After the inoculation, I covered the hole from the needle with some surgical tape just as an extra measure of keeping out contaminants. Then into the grow house they went.
