Krissi's Dutch Monkey In A Barrel: A CannaPot Sponsored Banana Blaze Grow, Using Prescription Blend

Just looked back to the post at the bottom of the previous page so as to try and compare the plant (Banana?) with the symmetrically yellow outsides and green insides leaves. It appears in today's picture that even those leaves are already beginning to bounce back. To my eye the yellow already looks greener and it appears there's more green in the middle, ie, the green in the middle is growing and spreading outward. Just me? I don't think so. Nice work!!
Yes! Thank you! No it's not just you lol

She just needed more and more so I figured if I bumped her to the next stage nutes it would go one of two ways: I burned her tips or she would uptake it all and start balancing out. I'm so glad it was the latter.

You know, Jon, I always have so many different strains at the same time but even the same strains give me different issues and have different needs I've found. It's just nurturing each one and luckily some trial and error has seemed to help.

Thanks for taking the time to go back and do a comparative :):thanks:

She's sweet as candy brother. Those gobstoppers though, I always feel the need to bite it and break it! Thank God I can't do that with her, I'd be breaking my teeth with all I smoke lol

Yeah girl! When I started the PB nutes on the Apple Blossom, I skipped the seedling stage and began at week one when the PB guys told me to, lol. But for whatever reason my seedling got plenty from the soil and didn't do that, or else I'd have done just what you did probably.

Oh it was so good. Get some good hard rolls to put them on and yummy!

It's funny cause with the autos (generally), they grow so fast and don't need me to feed them a lot so sometimes I barely give them a full dose of seedling feed before switching to veg. The photos seem to follow course just fine with the system. But then again, I digress, because Bubblegum in the Candy journal is an auto as well and I've barely fed her anything and she's the healthiest of them all. So idk. I amend my soil, that holds them over for a while. Sometimes you just gotta play chemist lol

That's funny, my experience with autos is exactly the opposite. Because they grow so quickly they can feed more than photos has been my experience. I've begun all of them (using FF nutes this is) at full dosages by chart and bumped in every case up plus additives not on the chart from other sources. Only with autos do I do that and get away with it. With Sohum I have added Bokashi and Frass tea, Great White, Fox Farms Microbe Brew, and even top dress/amend with Geoflora towards the end of flower. And they never burn.

That's been my experience anyway.

I've only burnt them via light lol. That and an occasional spray of nutes on a leaf in seedling. I used to use FF and swore by it. That was until I got PBlend and realized I didn't have to do any upping just amount of feed adjusting. I like that a lot more, especially since for people like us, we always have a bunch. I'm curious about the Sohum but so comfy with my FFOF. You and the others seem to really like it?

Highya Krissi,

Busy place this morning!! Puddin's new leaves are coming in very nice, like Jon observed. It's good to have different ladies with different needs, I think. Gives you experience with what a lady needs if different from others. Very nice job!

Rotisserie Chiucken salad looks delicious. I eat things like that most of the time (from scratch). More healthy.

I wanted to address the Microbe Brew. Last year was the most dramatic improvement in my whole garden, and especially cannabis ladies! The only difference from year before was making my own microbes weekly and applying to all the plants (flowers, trees, tomatoes, canna ladies, and green peppers). Great harvest! Happy Smokin'

P.S. Happy Superbowl Sunday! Who do you want to win?

Thank you I again, have to agree with you. It really just adds to your growing arsenal when you have multiple needs during the grow. I really do think that's what has helped me learn how to grow in a short amount of time. Thanks so much Bode for the boost of confidence!

Try to make it all from scratch. I love cooking and it is so much healthier!

Thank you! I may be asking you for your recipe one day cause I'd like to try it in my vegetable garden come spring!

Honestly I could care less. Umm.. Bengals cause they haven't had anything in forever good happen to them I guess. They're in Ohio...Rams have LA and @InTheShed, what more do they want?

Highya Krissi,

Microbe solution - I use about 1/2 rice (uncooked rice, but cook first), large handful of leaf mold (in a hardwood patch, scratch around the leaves to get leaf mold where leaves contact soil). Put cooked rice in a 1 gal paint strainer bag (at the big box store, paint section) with a small rock (to keep contents underwater) and a good handful of leaf mold. Suspend the bag into about 4 gal water (keep water temp at least 70, or above (I use an aquarium heater set on 80)) for usually 48 hrs. You must use the microbes as soon as possible after the 48 hrs for most effect. I may have missed something, so don't be afraid to ask. Another tool in your green thumb arsenal. Happy Smokin'

This is fantastic, thank you! Super excited to utilize this come spring! My veggies are going to love it, I'm sure!

Are the amounts unilateral between vegetables and cannabis per square ft?

I forgot to mention I dilute the mix like 6 cups (microbe solution) to 2 gal water (roughly, no need to be exact). Your ading microbes, there is no too little or too much. No harm to anything. Happy Smokin'

Note taken @Bode!!
Thank you again for all your guidance!

And today will be a better day. Put a little love in your hearts. These damn commercials get ya. For years!

Pudding is looking progressively better with her coloring. The switch of the nutes seem to have began kicking in.

I also see some nice internodal spacing.

In addition, I figured it was veg time now so I bumped up the big girls to a PPFD of about 350-375 which is about 45% on the MG3000 at the now 22-24 inches she is above the canopies

Yeah I'm in love with the PB nutes. Apple Blossom loves them. I do like the Sohum. It's got plenty of oomph and takes to additives, microbial or non-microbial, very well. Drainage is not quite as good as FF in my opinion, I add perlite to mine. I haven't noticed any significant taste difference between the two, surprisingly, and my taster works better than my smeller. Lol. And it seems to produce pretty dense buds in most cases. I will say it'll run out a bit towards the end of a longer grow. I amend mine with about a month left in flower with various things, but it responded well when I amended with Geo. Also LOVES @Bill284's bokashi and frass tea. I'll use it again. It's awesome for a grow where you don't want to work as hard, cuz you really do only have to water it and occasionally hit it with a calmag shot and any microbial whatever you like.

That said - FF with Geo dusts it. Not even close.

I appreciate your insight into this and taking the time to let me know your own experiences with all of the aforementioned. I am going to have to hit up our friend Bill now because I like to give the girls a tea, I'm always up to new additions to the green thumb arsenal as Bode put it. Anything to make my life with my girls better and easier is a win in my book and worth a try.

I'm with you on this one, K, for sure.

Highya Krissi,

Puddin's new growth looks much better. Seems I always get a little of that when I start new seedlings! Aphrodite must not have a need for so much nitrogen. She still looks great.
What kind of tea do you like to use? When I make some, I put a little of everything (compost and weeds of different kinds) to keep a variety going if I can. But mostly I just compost right in the garden, and add microbe solution there. It's almost funny how we becom spiritual on how we treat our ladies!! :cheesygrinsmiley: Happy Smokin'

Oh, here's a hug for you. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Hi Bode!

You know same seeds different grows. Just about to post a similar comment in my other journal in regards to another little I have growing completely different than her sister before her.

My teas are just bat guano, epsom, organic sugar and earthworm castings-nothing fancy. I've been taking notes on trying to do more. In fact @Pat Puffer gave me a really nice recipe for my garden as well a few months back I would also like to try.

So much amazing information here I don't know where to start some days.

I grow by feeling what to do not by knowing what to do per say so it's very spiritual for me

:meditate:

Think we keep looking better.

I've been decreasing humidity by 5% yesterday and today so we are sitting around 58-60% now.

Increased my exhaust to mid from low and decreased my humidifier setting from HI to LOW.

Gradually getting my total of 5 girls in the veg groove as they all have 5+ points on their leaves.

Check back tomorrow. Dry day. No other feed amendments or toppings.

No changes to their current 350-375 PPFD setting that I bumped them to yesterday. They seem to enjoy it.

highya Krissi,

That's the same way I do, fix whatever problem pops up. You are doing very thoughtful adjustments, which prepare them for being big ladies. Good job, ladyfair! Happy Smokin'
