Konk's 1st Grow: ON Canada

I agree with this “myth” those things are full of trich stealing static!!

We had the same problem here, croptober puts a strain on the jars!! I put out a post on another social media site buy/sell page looking for jars and was able to score a good few for cheap!
20201024_103552.jpg

I had all my biggest tops in this one until I got some more glass. The glass jars I got have more trics on them than this does. I wont say the oils wont react with the plastic (over the long term direct contact yes) but theres no signs of massive amounts of trics in this container from static electricity, I can barely get enough to feel on my fingertips. Not ideal, but in a pinch better than ziploc bags and cheaper than new glass.

it probably won't taste as good
I am a novice in the realm of taste and pleasure of smoke!!! What I am after here is something that I can use to make Cococanna oil for cooking and ingestion and possibly "Dust" to be taken orally in capsules or added to food. I have come to the conclusion that my bagseed is very poor quality - not worth growing. I will probably use my "Good" plants in the conventional way - jarring and burping.
My only concern with my procedure is if I am losing any potency. Do I need curing to add potency??
I only vape dry weed and sometimes smoke thru my diy hooka set up.

Dunno, but read the slow and low cure link in my signature, and @Backlipslide has a bunch in his, too. I am only at 72% humidity and haven't worried past that yet. :bong:

13Goody13, nutty professor, Boo, stoneotter and more are talking oils, lotions, edibles... drop any heads up here, please.

I have read people counting their drying time in days and that getting too dry cannot be fixed, so I am checking my notes and have a few observations that are entirely what I have encountered in my own conditions.

This is from the low and slow curing in my signature that I think came from Dr. Ziggy's thread...

I half a$sedly followed these points with Plant #5 & #5.5

"START TEXT
Low and Slo: In The Bag

Basic points:
  • Paper bags will help speed the process by about a week.
  • You’ll get better than 25% back, so loading the bags at 28 grams wet means every four bags’ll bring you very close to an ounce dry.
  • 28 grams to a lunch bag is a good volume for smooth drying.
  • Save most trimming for later to retain even more terpenes. I only take off fans.
  • Laying the bags on their side increases surface area facilitating the drying process.
END TEXT"

I packed 32 or 33g per bag, had 12 small paper lunch bags + 1 shake bag. They were down to 50% in two days.

My drying area humidity is about 45%. I didn't think much past about an oz per bag on its side and patience.

Lesson and attempted improvement with plant #1 and #2:

Divided the buds into larger bags (medium lcbo bags to name drop) 150g per bag x 3 bags. I laid them on their side overnight with a hygrometer. In the morning they read about 80%, I tossed & tumbled them and left them a while. Next check down to 74%, same toss and tumble but sat them flat vs on the side of the bag. They were 68% last check...

My take here with my vast experience of 1 bag of aphid weed that is sitting at 54% is to focus! Do managable trims into paper bags you can manage with hygrometers and check on them if you havent done this. It can't be measured in days, really, pay attention we have come too damn far to not check in often.

Hey @greenjeans came across this

Hello Maple... coz she’s sweet like syrup :)

How‘s it all going?
I told you already, the only maple syrup I like is already slathered on Jason Mamoa!
I was over in your journal ;)

Can you talk openly about your dislike of maple syrup in Canada? My Canadian friend views it as holy Jesus jizz, he made sweet crispy bacon, it was fucking awful, when I mentioned my dislike I thought he was going to shiv me with his pen.

Like is it against the law lol I don't like maple, or it is my very least favourite flavour. I prefer corn syrup on pancakes, shhh.

My maple syrup confession was seeing Jason Mamoa in his Frontier character and I turned to Mr. Empire and said, omg, what do you think he smells like and without missing a beat, he says maple syrup . :eye-roll:

Edit: I don't like my bacon crispy either...

I only know one Canadian person, well you make two. He takes his maple syrup, his Canada Day parties, his bananas and his hockey verrrrrrrrrrrry seriously. Lolling!

My head is still spinning that maple syrup comes from a tree. I thought it was a clever bee! Now you‘re saying corn has sugar juice?! What’s next? Onion sweetener?

Nek minnut Mr Kronk is drowning in the maple syrup you’re pouring on him by the bucket!!!

corn juice is what’s in everything look up hfcs, your drinks are sweetened with it. high fructose corn syrup. But yeah its hard to beat a clear Karo corn syrup with its slight but ever so seductive finishing note of vanilla. Makes you wanna face dive into a short stack glistening with corn syrup and wash it down with a ice cold quart of moo cow milk,

I know I’m gonna piss of half the crew but apologies to my northern friends....

I am maybe ungrateful and take my maple syrup connection for granted... I love watching the maple trees and if the syrup is slather on say, Mamoa, I could power through.

Wanted to add, I screwed the pooch on that problem thread the other day... turns out - it actually was an auto! Made my apologies & dined on crow!
The 8 week auto one?
I think you are too hard on yourself, man. You can try to ask the right questions, but sometimes we are too green to even know our question... wait, do we have to keep track of everything? Nope, let it go :passitleft:

Is that even what you're talking about, 013? 8 week auto is back and I can't even find a scene in the thread... you might borrow trouble, bud.

:bongrip: I have tried to pop into grow journals of members who enticed or compelled me to want to pull up my sleeves and jump in this grow. This folks, drags y'all down into my rabbit hole...

Shout out to Auggie, who's profound quote stopped me in my tracks ;)

To get back on the subject of this thread ... why some plants just don't grow ...

I have done a lot of cloning, and a lot of growing.
Inside and out.

I currently 'manage' three indoor grows of various sizes ... smallest one a 3600 wt SCROG. The plants from this grow and the others, are the offspring of my mothers. Blue Dream, AK-47, Cindy 99, Gorilla Glue.
If I put 150 plants under lights, two or three of them just WILL NOT thrive. There is life. It is green and appears healthy ... just won't grow. There is roots ... but, they don't THRIVE. These are all sisters, all from the same mom, all raised on the same nutes, in the same place ... and one or two of them won't grow.
Why?
Hell, I don't know. Don't care either.
I always grow 10% more than I actually bring to adulthood.
That allows me to toss the Prima Donna's.

I don't allow finicky girls in my garden. If they going to breathe my CO2, and enjoy the nutes and bask under my lights - they gotta put out. If they don't, they find themselves looking for another place to live.

As chauvinistic as this sounds ... the same rules apply to humans.

^ I obviously chose what I loved and ingored what I didn't, but man, I love common sense sofa king much!
