Kitchenhawk's Perpetual Grow Log

I would have offered but I don't have it anymore. I cleared almost all my keepers to grow a bunch of ACE sativas. I'm hoping to get it back at some point.
It's all good. I lf I have it when your wanting it back I will be glad to send her your way.
I need to get better at pressing. I have found returns are very strain dependent though. My Show and Tell from Annunaki is the best yielding strain I have pressed. I have gotten from 22-27.5% returns with it. My Blue Magoo gets about 8%, no good. I was going to press a whole jar of the blue magoo but it is not worth it with those returns.
I tried pressing some flower with my wife's hair straightener, and just ended up ruining some perfectly good smoke. My buddy that does it has a Sasquash presser and I think he said it was around 2500 bucks and I dont have that kind of loot for toys, so never tried again.

I've been eye-balling a manual heated press for about $400. Can't justify even spending that until I get new lights.

I've had some luck pressing dabs with a straightener if I use kief & a teabag. Last time I did it, I used a bunch of trim & popcorn. Dry ice to extract a monster pile of kief.... load it into a teabag and press in parchment. Works like a champ! I've never had luck doing it with flower.

Yeah I can't even justify 400 right now either. I have a vac chamber, and heating pad. I can make high quality BHO just have to purge it for around 7 days. Would seem faster and easier just to press, so maybe one day.

I built a press. I got plates for a little less than 300 and a press for about the same. I do ok but am till figuring it out. I wish I had nicer plates but it is what it is.

A lot of people hate on BHO now a days even though it used to be cream of the crop around here. I like the idea of not having to purge and not using any solvents. I always got sketched out with blasting oil. I never had a good spot to do it. I would like an easier faster way to make concentrates even though my wife just dabbles with them a bit.

Hey everybody. Just a little update. Will get pics in a couple weeks when plants look more exciting. Pamelinas 2,3, and 4 are some stretchy lanky sluts. I already chopped the heads off their clones. My fans were blowing them over like some drunk sorority skanks at week 2 and they required staking. Pam #5 barely stretched and has fat stout branches. She is the only one being kept for now. Mandarin cookies only medium stretched and branches are stronger than the lanky Pams. I like their growth much more. Both already have an orange smell with #1 being slightly stronger in orange smell at this point IMO. I took clones from 4 of the other 5 Tangies I had and put them in flower in the 2x2 for sexing. 1 Tangie was culled , because it was runtly. Thats all for now.

So this was Bopgun #10 that I took a clone 25 days in to flower. She rooted at 8 days, but seriously stalled for 40 days or so. Roots kept growing, and then a couple weeks ago new growth came out the middle of the bud, and she went to normal vegatative growth. I killed her today, because I like #2 better.

Yup Yeti I found the keeper. Which now is good of time as any for a smoke report. The #2 is definitely lemon. Not the loudest plant ever in smell. Just light sweet lemon. The green hit is delicious though. Some of the tastier green I have had lately with a lemon tart flavor. I have a little 1 hitter bong that I find I load more than necessary just, because I want another green hit. Potency is there also. A couple bong hits and I am ripped. The flavor carries through much better than the #10. Also I put an oz. Of #10 and #2 out and told a guy to pick one. He smiled and goes that one pointing at #2. I gave him a few other things also, but he called back yesterday for the Bopgun. I let my people pick the keepers just as much as I do, they just don't know it. I never tell anybody I grow though. Except you guys. The Mag is the only place I am free to be myself. During the day I am Dr. Jekyll, but at night I am Mr. Hyde the weed house.

Could be better, but not complaining. 3 of 4 Pamelinas are super stretchy cookie dom. Little spaced out balls. Probably gonna be frosty as a mofo, but crappy yield. #5 the shorty is stacking nice, and could turn out to be nice. Hopeing so, because my male Pamelina #7 was the short stalky stinky fella with little stretch that matches up to #5. I have at least 5 female Tangies so far. The Mandarin Cookies both seem nice. Not too much stretch, and better node spacing than the stretchy Pam's. I thought #1 smelled stonger, but now they both smell the same. So it's going good to answer your question. @TheGreenYeti

Hopefully you find what you are looking for in that batch of Pamelina's. I ran a cut I got labeled as GSC a few years ago and while it was nice I do not think it was true GSC. It was not overly frosy and it formed spears more so than golf balls. I have not really run cookie crosses either. I have run a couple of Do-si-do crosses so I have ran things with cookies in the lineage. I would not mind getting a cut of the forum cut to see what it is about. Alas I dont think that is in the cards. My Do-si-do crosses seem to pack on a decent amount of weight. The Tangie sounds nice. I have only run the Oragneade for Tangie crosses. Every time I look at crockett gear I tend to lean more towards the Sour Tangie than the straight Tangie. I have a thing for ECSD though. I have reservations about Crockett's claim that they used ECSD only because they have one or two other strains that have Sour Diesel in them, but they say they used AJ's Sour Diesel in the others and from all I have seen and heard AJ's is not ECSD.

If I was going through Crockett gear just for a female Tangie probably would not be my stopping point. Same with the Pamelina. Those were 2 packs that were bought just for the male. If I find a good female in either all the better. I wanted the Pamelina for bud density and frost. I figured OG and Forum gotta be good for that. The females will tell. And the Tangie for fruity terps. 1 for frost, 1 for fruit. The Tangie was purchased specifically for my Pugsbreath (mendobreath F3) and the Mandarin Cookies. I think there could be some fun stuff in that cross. My last 2 Tangie's showed sex today. 1 female 1 male. Bringing the tally to 6 Females 3 males from 9 put in flower. Good ratio for anyone looking for females. I culled the male, because #2 had stronger branching and mo stinky. Now I have the 6 Lemon Cherry Pie x Black Lime Reserve x ? In flower in the 2x2 for sexing. Only keeping females for awhile now though. Got the Oni Noodles Sour Dubb x Purple Punch in the mail today, and fought off the urge to pop them today. But they are going swimming next.

Your Pugsbreath is gorgeous! Crossing it to Tangie sounds like it could be a winner for sure. I think the Tangie would be worth growing ou even as a female. I go back and forth between that and the Sour Tangie every time I look at their gear. As I said though with my draw towards ECSD the Sour Tangie always wins out. I am yet to buy any of their seed sthough. That Sour Dubb x Purple Punch sounds like it will be very nice. Yet another killer strain I look forward to watching you hunt through. I transplanted a Donkey Punch and Orangeade B and put them in flower tonight and realized I now have 3 Purple Punch crosses sitting right next to each other. I also have a Larry Bird Breath flowering for the first time and a Peanutbutter Breath flowering for the first time too. After taking my Dolato downa few weeks ago I am realizing I have a good amount of Punch, Gelato and Dosido crosses going on at the moment lol. I hope you find the stud you are looking for and are able to make some very nice crosses for yourself.

Thanks man! Sounds like you have alot of gas coming down the pipeline also. Here are a few pics of my OGKB Pugsbteath. Veg was as slow as they say.

Is that a different cut than Serena? My Larry Bird Breath is OGKB dom as well I am pretty sure. Leaves have that same funky look to them. It vegged super slow and it looks like a little christmas tree. All the lower growth is pretty tight to the stalk. I will try and get pics to show tomorrow. It is just starting to show buds and probably could have vegged longer but I needed something to fill the spot in flower and it was the biggest plant at the time.

Yes different cut than Serena. I popped 11 Pugs 3 were runts and culled. Of the other 8, four were like the leaves above OGKB dom. Had the "funky look". I decided to scientifically figure out what the funky look was. 1. The blades stay closed. You can see in the last leaf pic I am actually prying the blades open to show how the part of leaf not hit by light stays green and the rest black in flower. UV activated pigmentation pretty cool if you ask me. 2. The serration count on the blades is between 7-9 on average very low. 3. The blades have a 3d look were the serrations have raised bumbs for serrations within them. You can see it best in the flower leaf shots. 4. The leaves are THICK. Easily the thickest leaf I have ever encountered.

That's a Photo of the Month there! You ever enter anything in that one?
