KingJohnC's and WildRosebud's Dual Grow Journal - Pink Parvat Beta Testing

The small starter cells I put tot he side that I planted seeds in a week or so ago popped 2 seedlings. I will be donating them to my friend.
I will be getting my 3rd light back today so I will have better coverage on my plants. Pink Parvat established is looking strong. Fed each plant 1 cup of water and 4 cups of water to PP. I need to buy one more light I am considering a hanging dual or quad bulb T5 around 2 feet long. I am frugal though and I notice those are kinda spendy.... (Says the guy that uses Lumatec products)

Had the same problem when I started mine in root riots Kingjohn little buggers just don't know what way down is lol :) I picked mine out and turned round replanted and it grew fine bro :peacetwo: rosebud you thought about hps lights? you can pick them up for decent coin (however think the elec costs are a lot higher mate) I average about £20 a week on mine but that's running my house too so not too bad & that's one 600w not lumatech though they cost a bomb , I went with cheaper one from amazon 600w hps dual spectrum. Included ballast , reflector and 2 bulbs (the bulbs cost £20 on their own & was only £75 roughly all in so not too shabby)

john, that mix looks a little hot! youre not adding nutrients yet, are you?

I was using distilled water to water the seedlings and pH adjusted water now. I am using the same soiless mixture i have outlined below. I will not use additional nutrients until the plants are more established and are transplanted to 1 gallon pots and have been treated with mycorrhizae.

Soiless mixture
3 parts peat moss
1 part vermiculite
1 part perlite
2 part earthworm castings
1/4 part galacial rock dust
1/4 part gypsum
1/16 part dry seaweed meal

Sounds nice KingJohnC will this same soiless mixture also be used for transplanting in?
I maybe have just learned what soiless mixture is like. I could be useing one myself:hmmmm: if many times reused FFOF with ProMix counts.

I am guesing you pay buy Euro money? I pay about $20 Canadian for bulbs.
I use CFL for temperature control till plants are tough enough to endure hot ambient temps.
I use a 600 watt Lumitec digital ballast (Mh and HPS lights at 250 , 400 and 600 watt settings)
I am going to purchase a 1000 watt Lumitec 600 , 800 , 1000 with both bulbs next purchase. I want a few of those actually. Since I been included in the Cannacollective I am fortunate , I will be able to expand what my mission is. My goal in 10years is to provide free seeds for people who need medicine grown indoors or for their region outdoors. People are easily discouraged when growing cannabis I would like to simplify it for new growers so they can enjoy growing at their own pace and still obtain medicine no matter if their harvest is adverse or not. I am enjoying using "cheaper" methods. So far I have to admit the cheaper methods are proven winners! Just takes a green touch I suppose. I am huge on good lights start to finish though , soon I will be following that regime HARDCORE SAUCE. lol Still normal sauce to me cus it is just lights. <3 and much reps my friend :D

The mad doctor at work! ++++ REPS!

I will do a "Tea" thread when I get the time about how to add compost to soil and make it make massive plants FAST! Time and patience is involved and I bet half of yous already know it. Best method's ever... Au natural

My personal experience with Mycohaze or how ever you spell it...

New to the experience I saw , fuzzy mold on surface of soil. It never hurt anything but sure makes a guy wonder.
Roots root bound 10 times faster causing a new level of problems. 1 gallon containers from 1 inch starter cells filled with roots and hormone stress issues immediately especially if left too long and transplanted. Goofy I tell you! Well my buddies clones (Deep Chunk) and pink parvat and romulan grapefruit donations all got repotted last night in Pro Mix medium porosity and 3 gallon pots. Pleased! They are now under a bank of 4k range and high 2k range CFL fixture. Perked up when I saw them :D

I feel good today , set up the extra light got the timers goin 18/6 every single plant is high fiving and the lowryders came out of the transplant shock and are expanding now. PP is outgrowing everything though so space is going to be restricted. Romulan and HK are expanding too. Maybe I shoulda took some pics , brb lol

very nice.. they really like that mix.

kingjohns mix also sounds awesome.

I use a 1:1 compost to peat mix, and sometimes I add some perlite or vermiculite. most of the time I also amend the mix with these granules of organic meals. n p k plus cal mag and sulfur plus biota. just like the stuff you use john, but its from meals.

above is what I used for serious 6s mix, theyre really gonna enjoy it like your girls are liking theirs.

Well it is safe to say the average germ rate is about 50/50 for people who would expect rapid germination. Several others that have started these beans recently are experiencing the same issues KJC is , stretch and humidity as well as slow germ or sprout rates. Some can not get any beans to open some have had all of them open almost all of you guys got long stretchy plants. I am trying to figure out what the heck is it your light distance or lack of intensity? So I look at some grow rooms locally... Problem with local peoples grows almost all had the lights a foot or 3 away from top canopy. One person used a Incandescent light bulb and you could tie that sprout in a bow.... Buddy now uses same bulb I use , 45 watt CFL 3000Lumens in 4100k. Problem solved , I like these lights they work great and stretch very little even if placed a foot or higher above the canopies I do however place the light a few inches away on the larger plants. Other friends have temp , humidity and medium issues.

I can safely say this strain once germed what ever method , requires a more dry medium... Less moist dirt seems to make them cruise from sprout on. I had 2 open up the other day from bone dry medium. So this is a tricky one to start a true challenge and the Master Grower informs me they love the most difficult and challenging of strains. I will be sharing a in depth report on the viability so far with the Master Grower , they seem to value my opinions and open up about their own struggles.... It is nice to feel involved in something new and innovative.

blah blah blah am I even awake right now.......? haha talk later cats! :scratchinghead:
