very nice both,
@wide, you know the cfls your using, well you get a lot more light off the sides of the bulbs then you do the ends, so id mount the bulbs so the side is facing the plants and not the ends, or maybe your just using cfls to take pics with, ill read back and check.

when i use cfls to grow i make my own reflector out of metal trays you use for putting food on and have the bulbs mounted so the side is facing the plants, you got a lot more light off the sides then you do the end, very little is given out from the ends of the bulbs,

For several months now I been waiting for someone to ask about this lol... I used these 3 lights to start 70 plants once it worked well this way. I want to buy a bank of cfL tubes and just use these as 360' under foliage lighting. I do have a mini beer keg the 5 liter kind I want to make some reflectors with for these CfL's I am using atm tho. :)

cool, i used a load of like tinfoil trays from the 99p store, i think they came in packs of 3, they was like big oval shape i just poked hole in the middle and mounted the bulbs sideways using pipecleaners as they dont get hot enough to melt anything, i had a lot more light penetration from the sides of the bulbs,

i find it pretty strange that you can use just 1 23watt cfl in your living room light and it lights up the whole room with no problems, yet to grow with the light penetration drastically drops off after just over 2 inches from the bulb, if you hold your hand against the bulb then slowly move it away after about 2 inches from the bulb the light level drastically drops off,
i grow under a dual spec hps now but if i start plants under the hps they stretch so i still use cfls to start plants and seedlings and node spacing is very tight and plants dont stretch at all using cfls,

Pink Parvat day 27 veg , 1 day after first nute feeding of 20-20-20 on 10th node now and lower branches are popping out like crazy. Since this is my tester plant I will not be fimming or topping the most I might do is some LST shaping to ensure side branches do not smother the center canopy.

It is as wide as the 5 gallon planter now yay :)

Well this morning I check on the PP plant. Pink Parvat is not only vigorous but it is a Power Plant wow! Half inch from light I had to lift it up. Good thing it gets some hps in the light regime now looks like all my plants took well to it despite ambient temps hitting 100'f in the room during the heat wave. Might be another heat wave here today so I will be on my toes again....

Very Nice
Thanks! It looks like we got something going enough to keep the journal interesting now. I was invited for this weekend to take photos of the other PP at my friends place it was topped and is bushing up now :) 'fist pump

:morenutes::thumb: Its really liking those feedings WildRosebud
and I like KingJohnC's growth going on there too.I like seeing those more mature leaves and the stems swelling to relax and feel things might be OK overhere when they're seedlings. Good job Guys and Pink Parvat Betas too :rollit:
My PP is going nuts since I put the hps on! I got temps stable today , they will see 8 hours of hps today maybe that will cause more havoc in the canopy haha.... I am currently LST a branch that got a few inches long , it wants to vine on the center branch so I tied it back. Compared to the deep chunkolate Indica I grew last grow this one's branches seem more like a "Afghanica" the branches are thinner off the main stalk and stretch faster. I wonder if the Pink Kush lineage has Afghan genetics? Also the fan leaves overlap like crazy and are in 9 leaf patterns , this is a hash plant for sure.... I fear it will over grow my room quickly so I need to plan out a alternative. Third feeding will be in 3 days.
