I cut 4 slits off the bottom edge of the cup with scissors.About a half inch long and 3/16th wide. Just a slit.
Me too!

I wonder if it would be better to mimic an airpot and poke holes all around the sides rather than just the bottom? I guess this wouldn't really apply if you are using the 2 cup method as the clear inner cup holes would get cut off from the benefits due to it being covered by the red solo.

I love the benefits of being able to see root development but maybe poking holes in BOTH cups and lining them up to give you that airpot effect might be beneficial especially when getting that first burst of root growth well developed to support the vigorous growth we're all looking for as the plant progresses. Big roots, big fruits!!!!

Don't let yourself over-think it Keith.... plenty of people will have advice to give ya, but at the end of the day, these plants do this shit on their own in nature... without us.

Keep it simple, and everything will fall into place brother. :high-five:

This is true but most of the plants grown and shown here are much better than grown in nature. Any plant that grows on nature only has to be a tough plant. šŸ‹
Meh.... for some yes.... quite a few others have a tendency to destroy their plants by their own hand.... A trend I refer to as "over-loving" their plants.

Meticulously focusing on every detail to their own detriment.

Paying attention to the details is important, but trying to intervene at every turn is similar to a "helicopter parent" and ends up causing more harm than good.

There are definitely times where less is more. People on the site here love to show/share their knowledge (even when you dont ask)... not all of that knowledge is worth a shit.

Let them seeds run; if they crap out, try again.

My advice is to just try your own thing before buying into some of the shit ppl are selling

Yeah my thing was overwatering, my logic told me if some is good, more must be better right... not the case at all. It took me a while to rein in my 'over loving' tendencies.
Good soil, good watering technique, and good genetics, and a plant will almost grow itself.
It will become second nature with a little time.
