She looks good for the cold night experience Keith! Every day matters now. Long as she's not bud rotting on you, she's fine! I have one left as well, hoping for a few more days. Mine's starting to rot so I can't say how much longer she can go. A few nugs a day now, any more and I'll cut her down.
Thanks I see not bud rot. I seen a little yesterday so I know what it looks like.

I'd say that has a month to go at least, so you will be harvesting by the weather long before any signs of ripeness.
Sounds like an early harvest. I will hang in there till the end. Lesson learned cannot grow sativa unless I start her real early. I bought Sour Deisel seeds and I think I will be better off trading them for some indica seeds. I have time to worry about that later but not to much later. I have to plan smarter. When I started this, I had a seedling given to me knowing nothing about growing. Got to start a next grow book so I do not repeat the same thing over. I still love growing this plant no matter what happens, Amagine if it all went right lol Does that ever happen. Thanks to all of you I have gotten this far.

Keep in mind that with an outside grow, when you start has absolutely no bearing on when you finish.

You will always need a short flowering plant if you want to get it chopped when ripe rather than by the weather.

It's why sativas are native to much more tropical climates.

Not often it all goes right! But the goal is to get enough right to fill the jars with good meds. :thumb:

So your saying if I started a Sativa growing indoors in February and moved it outdoors in May it still wouldn’t be ready in September?

Exactly. Here is a recent post I did explaining it:

Cannabis plants are photoperiod and therefore have evolved to flower when the number of light hours begins to decrease. From the moment they germinate in spring the days are getting longer right up until the summer solstice on June 21st. From that day forward they sense that fall is coming because they are getting progressively less and less light with each passing day.

Any plant of sexual maturity (which would be all outside plants germinated in the ground in the spring) will begin the flowering process on the 22nd of June (northern hemisphere) when the days get shorter. It takes them much longer to show pistils then plants slammed into 12/12 so they will show pistils between mid July and mid August.

That's why the long flowering sativas are native to more tropical environments, but short flowering indicas are from where it gets colder sooner.
Gotta be something that matures quicker.
Yeah, short flowering indicas!
I think you’d just be extending the veg period. Flowering time won’t slowly start to kick in until June 22 outdoor for a photoperiod.
Thanks SCD!

I do not think that is what he was telling me. If I want an outdoor plant which I do I would need a faster maturing strain for my area of growing. I could start indoors and have a better chance at maturity but there is still the chance it will not mature in time so I would be better off growing another strain. Thats what I get out of it. Better my chances by growing a different strain. It can get cold here really quick and I am lucky I got this close, but it is not over yet.

I saw my first sign of baby flowering pistils the first week of August. So I’m still around 8weeks of flower today at the first week of October.
Are you growing indica or sativa dominate. If sativa you are in the same boat as me Ten plus weeks of flowering.

Anyone growing outside should make sure to understand my post above. When you start has nothing to do with when you finish outdoors.
That’s what made this bag seed run so much fun for me this year.
I learned a lot about the plant differences and have 3 diff types.
So now I can better gauge my harvest window a bit better when I do go to research and then buy seeds

Gotcha but I could say move indoors sooner and start the 12/12 artificially. Correct?

You are much further ahead in the learning curve than me. You have done this before, and I started knowing nothing.

That’s the fun part of learning the how’s and why’s with free seeds. I believe they are all at least hybrids.
One leans a bit more to the Sativa side and a few that are more indica dominant.
I could use something that is 8 weeks+. Anything longer and I need to step up my shelter game

Here is a list I found by googling "short flowering cannabis strains"
  • 1 – Lowryder (Hybrid Cannabis Strain) ...
  • 2 – Critical Kush (Indica Cannabis Strain) ...
  • 3 – Early Girl (Indica Cannabis Strain) ...
  • 4 – OG Kush (Hybrid Cannabis Strain) ...
  • 5 – Superglue (Hybrid Cannabis Strain) ...
  • 6 – Red Dwarf (Indica Cannabis Strain)

Yes, and that's exactly how I grow. I use the sun as my light source but I'm not tied to the seasons. I flip whenever I want, any time of year, by giving them 12 hours of darkness every day.

It takes commitment because it needs to be kept up for the rest of the flowering period.

I imagine it’s a lot easier indoors with a tent as well.
