Whoever it was probably chose to go with plastic because plastic is cheaper.

Small local hardware stores should have replacement plunger ends if you still have a handle that holds up to the abuse needed to handle several kids in the household. Most likely you have one or two hardware stores in the neighborhood. I am not sure that the big box home improvement stores have the replaceable end.

I’ve got a hardware store at the end of my block I’ll be checking out. These plungers I had were all one piece and snapped in weird spots. I’m hoping the hardware store has the wooden handled plungers because this isn’t the first time I’ve broken these plastic handled bathroom devices, I did the same to the scrub brush 🤣

The big box stores definitely carry two or three plungers from the same company just different packaging, you can tell just by how weak they are. I’ll be going to the small business hardware store and seeing what they have. They usually carry local made stuff and more durable brands. The only downfall of that is though, the selection is thinner. However if the products are better quality I don’t mind less choice

Orally I haven’t found anything that really hits. I’ve eaten 500 mg and nothing. Drank 100s of mgs worth of drinks, zilch. Same with my wife. I’m prepping the stuff to try making my own butter and see if we can get anything that way.

A fat joint though gets me nice and baked. A single water bong bowl works too but I have to use energy to smoke that 🤣

Some people seem to need a lot more to get high from edibles, and a few seem to be completely unaffected.
Anecdotally, I've noticed a correlation between prescription antidepressant use (even when they're no longer being used) and resistance to edibles.
 
And of course when you light that shit on fire some of it doesn't make it through. :laughtwo:

Buying from the local and usually independent stores also costs a little bit more since they cannot buy in large volumes to get a price reduction. But that slightly higher price is offset since the locals are close by and no need to spend the time and wear and tear on vehicles getting to a big box store.

You had brought up the local Cultivation Station several months ago when they closed up. I talked to the head guy at a HTG grow shop and he explained one of the things that independents like Cultivation face when it comes to LED lights is that they do not have the buying power to get selections and volume discounts. Considering that LED lights are still changing designs and output and pricing at what seems like every week and if they do get a volume price then the light might be out of date before they can sell what they bought in bulk.

Yep.. It’s literally at the end of my block so I just walk down the street. Plus, when I spend my money there, I know it’s staying here in the community instead of going to some corporation in another state.

That was one of the big things that stuck out about that place. They were still pushing the old ballast lights and had no LEDs. So basically 1/4 of products for growing weren’t accessible to them.

That left them trying to profit off of everything else. In my experience most of those other products don’t have much profit margin, especially when you’re trying to compete with online retailers.

They were in a crappy position and a real nondescript location. So basically, unless you already were a customer, they weren’t getting much new traffic. Every time I went in there it was just me. It’s sad to see it happen, but I can’t prop up a business on my own 🤣

Were you ever at their previous location? There the indoor space was less than half of what they had in the new spot down by the freeway. And the older location had no outside fenced-in storage.
 
We have a shop like that here, after covid and the dispensaries opened and recreational we went legal grow shop's closed and most go to the dispensary now,why Idk but they do Like for me ive been a caregiver for 7 years with 6 patients and myself plus worked with the dispensary with my overage then they changed the laws and the COVID, let's just say i made a heap of cash but after the dispensaries opened after COVID and the laws were changed , they made you get a license to be a state regulated grower that was HUGE COST in licensing fees not to mention insurance and security costs then you have to deal with the state in top of it and the fines for non-compliance isn't cheap you needed Deep pockets and investors + the banks don't want to work with you because of the federal gov regulations on marijuana it was BULLSHIT!
So now I have 2 loyal Patients left and the rest go to the dispensary put me right outta business well almost 😁 so i had to get creative and started working on my overhead and lowered
It a ton now I can maintain a free grow w some profit to spare but how can i compete with 40 different cultivars to choose from? The fuckin State finally figured it out those BASTARDS!! ✌️

at least you can still sell it. when they legalized for rec they took our med licensing away. if we get caught selling anything it's the same jail time as the old trafficking laws now.

previous we were even allowed to advertise and set prices for product. now that it's legal we are forced to send clients to the dispensary, which has no med based products, only rec.

All the money the state makes Oon taxes are supposed to go to schools and roads i forgot what they said last time on the news about taxes the state made but it was an ASTRONOMICAL # but yet our schools are Falling apart and our roads SUCK!! Most of us aren’t big fans of the government so that’s okay lol. I acknowledge that regulation has its place when applied appropriately. However this almost never happens in any sort of fair or equitable manner. Those with power and resources just continue to accumulate more power and resources while the rest of us get crushed even further into the ground.

This system was rigged way before I came of voting age. Left, right, they’re both shit with a stranglehold on the nation. Nowadays people vote not for their chosen candidate but so someone else isn’t elected. That’s what a 2 party system inevitably becomes.

Both parties are catering to their extremes. Eventually they’ll alienate enough of us to make a third party viable.
