Jonwayne's Bag Seed - Rookie Grow - Winter 2015 Journal

Here we are @ day 57 into flower, girls still look the same a few more hairs have turned and curled is all. Not that couch lock buzz I'm looking for just yet. Up until now all 8 e been using to look @ trics with is a old 20x jewelers loupe, that works but you have to be a 1/16 of an inch from what your looking @. But I have a 60x-100x coming in Friday, and I think one of the 2 will be ready or close to harvest by then. I'll put up a some photos later tonight of the progress.

I'm thinking they will be done one day next week, we have just under half milky trics. What you guys think here they are, @ day 58

Sounds about right to me, a week to 10 days. Pistils are all drying up, but it looks like your calyxes could still stand for some swelling up. Hard to tell from pictures of course...

I'm in for the long haul either way arteekay, I've put alot of hardworking into these girls. I want to see them reach there full potential. I'll smoke Reggie as long as I have to, untill these finish up haha. Only thing is that big ole bushy girl I have in veg is dying to go into the flower closet. Little pre flowers everywhere, getting to big for her box. I keep taking clones to keep here size in check, but I can't do it much longer. I may have to sacrifice the tiny plant in flower for some less potent head buzz type smoke. To make room for this big freaking mother plant haha so with that said I'm gonna the little one 7 more days to mature then I have to harvest her or I'm gonna have a mess.
Thanks for your comment art, I'll keep yuns updated.

Well my 60x scope came in today, a few days early. And while inspecting the small plant, I found several amber trics on her older larger buds. And that makes since, her calyxes are bigger, 70/30% dark/white pistols, with all those signs. I'm pretty confident that she is ripe enough to harvest. With that said, and me needing the space in the flower room asap. I'm gonna prepare to harvest her, she has had one flush already, its a small pot, and I've only used nutrients in flower really. I'm gonna cut it today before the lights come on. As I've heard that's the recommended time to do so. I'll post up before and after photo's, I'm gonna wash most of the buds and leave a few unwashed for comparison. She is tiny, so expecting 8 grams or less dry from her. But it's the frostier of the two, so should be some decent smoke when cured. I've not tested any buds from her yet. Updates will be tomorrow night about this time. If I forgot or left something out, please let me know.

Ok here is some closeups and photos of the first one Harvested today.

And it turns out my 10s scope I was using up untill now that my new 60-100x came in. Wasn't enough to see actuall color depth of the trics.
The other plant is also ready after inspecting it tonight, it will be harvested today before the lights come back on.
I'll post photos of it just like I did this one here, most likely will be Monday on it though, vacation this weekend. Everything looks good. It's amazing what washe's off the buds, I will be washing the entire plant on the big girl. This has been a great learning experience. Like to thank all the people here on 420 that has helped me soak up this knowledge that will help me for many years to come. I plan to crank another journal up here soon that's a little more organized and in more detail. Smoke report on these girls will be posted in 14 or 15 days from now guys, stay tuned. Happy smoking

It's extremely difficult to get a photo through that microscope ha those are the best I could get. Do those tricomes look like they were ready to harvest to any experienced growers?

Got the second plant cut, washed, and trimmed hanging to dry now. They were small enough to hang the entire plant in an empty pantry cabinet with a small desk fan to keep air moving around. Everything looks good keeping it @ 65-75° F. and 40-50% RH looking like it will take a week or 10 days to go into jars. I will do one last photo update followed by a smoke report when there cured a day or 2.

Went into jars today, after they started drying good. They dried throughly pretty quick. The washed buds actually dried faster and more evenly I do believe. I'll get the smoke report posted, when I get over this cold, my sense of taste and smell isn't that great right now.

Ok smoke report is in, I have most of my senses back. As far as taste I'm no professional by no means. This is some of the smoothest weed I've smoked, it's extremely easy on the lungs. It still has a green taste, but you can tell it's getting better in the jars.
Plant #2 first ha (the small one)
Smooth goin in
With a Suttle green and skunky taste.
Has a pleasant sour after taste.
Skunky/sour smell as well.
Fairly strong body buzz followed with munchies.
Really sticky and resin covered.

Plant #1 (scrog grown) larger one
This one is just as smooth as the other.
This one isn't as green tasting
But had a slight cat piss/amonia type after taste and aroma.
It's not to much, but you can definitely tell it's there. I've only smoked one other type of weed that tasted like this before.
It had more of a head buzz with not so bad munchies.
I'm sure both will get better with a longer cure, but for right now. That's what I get from them.
Thanks to everyone that followed and helped along the way with this grow. Keep an eye out for the next one in the next few weeks.

I'm thinking of documenting the mother plant and her clone I just put into flower after this harvest. Thought about just continuing it here, have my first and second indoor harvest on the same journal. Im attempting to grow a single cola from the clone, and the mother it a nice 2'x2' healthy bush with tons of tops on her. I topped her @ the 6 node weeks ago, she grew 2 nice big tops and was quickly our growing my space height wise. So then I started a little lst that ended with tieing down all her branches, they all shot up like something crazy. Should be a decent yeild if she fills in nice. I removed the bottom 1/3 of foliage, pretty much every every bud site that didn reach the top of the canopy. Not gonna waste my time with those little buds this go around. So what do yuns think, do I have any interest in this one on here?

That's all I needed h00k, it's about that time for your next grow isn't it? I'll try to get some good photos tomorrow, and get you guys and gals up to speed on this lady (shirl) and her little teenage girls (tam, and joyce) she has growing up with her. Thanks

Before I get everything up to date on my mother and clones I'm just gonna leave this little bit of bud porn here for you guys. This is the small frosty plant after 7 days curing.

And here are the girls that went into flower after this past harvest.
Strain: bagseed
Germination: paper towel
Lights: 8x23 watt 2700k 1700L, 2x 60watt 3500k, 2x 4" flouro tubes 2700k 2100L bulbs. Total est. Lumens (22,000) in roughly 12" square.
Medium: topsoil, peat moss, worm castings, little black sand, cow manure, 50% perlite.
Mother went into solo cup 1-6-16
Vegged: untill 3-4-16 just over 8 weeks
Took 3 clones right before flowering
Into flower: 3-4-16=current 11 days into flower now and she curretly fills a 2x2 square in my closet with her foliage.
1 Clone went into flower @ 8'= 3-6-16-current 9 days into flower
The other clone is still in veg and will be used soly for clones goin outdoors this year.
Now for current photos

Clone started @ 8' after a 9 day stretch thus far, she is @ 12' now, and throwin out side branches. I was hoping for a single cola on her, but doubt that will happen now.

I've had some ph issues with the mother here that last 2 weeks. Had some of my older lower leaves start yellowing around the edges a little nothing too serious I don't think, i assumed maybe had some thing locker out. I fed her one round of transition to flower nutes before the yellowing came up, and 5 days later I flushed with ph 6.5 water, runnoff was still 6.9-7.0. So I left it be untill the next feeding witch was today, I give her another gallon of ph 6.3 water, the runnoff was alot clearer this time and came out 6.7-6.8. Think if add nutes back in the mix and give it to here @ a lower ph this next feed that it my soil should balance back out?

And my 8 inch clone that I put in flower hopping to be a single cola plant has went crazy the her first 10 days in flower. Has gone from 8' to 18' grown 6 inch side limbs that wouldn even there before flowering. Has grown into the light 3 times, burning a few fan leaves. Tried to keep it as close as I could to reduce stretch but no, she had other intentions. Averaged 2.5' a night in growth. So I added a 55 watt 2700k 3800L bulb to her to help fill her out better since she got so darn big. I'll do a photo update tomorrow night.

@ 21' here after 11 days in flower

Well guys, this part is slow go. But the bushy mother is starting to devolop little nugs filling in nicely. And the clone is still shooting up like I don't know what, my lights on it are topped out, so if it grows another 2 inches tonight like I expect it will. I will have to snap and bend her, or tie her top down. She has went from 8" to over 2 feet in less than 2 weeks. That has my closet packed this round, unlike last time, I'm having to move and situate alot around them. Pictures coming
