Hi @InTheShed - hey man, hope you’re enjoying the SIP project, trials and tribulations aside. Here’s my next water idea. This is for a photo. Look how sweetly one of these plant risers fits a five gallon bucket. Due to the solid ridge on the riser, it will insert nicely into an AirPot. Using the riser makes a five too small. I’m using a seven and rolling it to about a six as that is what fits it. That’s too much up top for an auto but is perfect for a photo. Take your time filling the top, and when the roots start to show through engage the bucket. Maybe flip around then. The feet on the riser are exactly the right size for a nice gap between water and roots. And I will cut out the bottom of the foot holes altogether. This design also solves the problem of do we water top and bottom, as obviously with a six up top you’d have to keep it wet. If you’re a person who likes a layer of perlite in the gap, simply fill the feet with perlite.
What do you think? Good setup?

CongratsSorry @Azimuth, even after that discussion I missed the first bucket. That was the filthy one! But here’s the second bucket. The first was five times dirtier. And the last bucket basically did nothing (rinse I guess). And here’s the buds all clean and hanging. Wow. Pretty big auto. Thanks for your help on this.

Yours looks great with that instant fit. My build is in my Giant SIP thread. Just needs holes in the side, medium and plant to go.

It depends on if it’s a lighter or torch, with the torch only 3-4 seconds and then keep inhaling to get the hit you want. Lighter about 5-6 and same thing keep inhaling till you get the hit you want. But be warned if you inhale too long you’ll get a mega mega hit. Enjoy

Thanks @NickHardy. So change of plans on the clone. Speaking of airpots, I have sevens on the way. When they arrive, rather than the cloth pots, I’m going to uppot into one of the airpot 7’s. Then the airpot goes into the A game rig. Then, since I’ll now have an empty tent with my best light, I use the new hula hoop rig and scrog her out in there. I will run her up to the screen untopped. Then the main takes a 90 degree turn and runs immediately to an edge. Then I wrap it in a circle as it grows around the hoop. Meanwhile I scrog the rest on the inside of the hoop. Perfect. When the screen is 100% full I flip.
I don’t want to deal with a ton of wind, 100 degree days, stealth issues with the big obvious hula hoop rig, constant worry about ambient light at night, and a record leaf miner infestation currently gripping Florida. I can, and have, but no. And since the next grow is a 4’ wide hula hoop scrog of Super Silver Haze (sponsored by NASC!) in a 5x5, this will.make a good practice run. I was very tempted to do her outside, especially given her gorgeous Christmas tree shape. But no.

I have these Nicole Kush 2.0 I want to grow. 1000-1200g p/sqm indoor and 1500g out door. Umm ok! So when my 4x4 is free I have a new light provisionally ordered and I’m gonna spinnny spinny scrog to your most excellent design. Is this also where your heading? I’ve never done a scrog, or a one plant/tent pretty grow so seems like the right approach to take.
