Milky milky!

Relentless at the moment, if its not beautifully trimmed buds its soon to be trimmed beautiful buds.

Nice work on pulling it together so tight chopwise.

One thing I know people do I guess but I haven’t seen is an actual outdoor scrog. So let’s do one. That ought to spice things up a little.

Ladies and Gentlemen (and Nick), allow me to present the mobile, rotating, 34” round, outdoor hula hoop scrog setup.

Here’s how I made the base:

Here’s the poles which were widened at the end to fit the dowel holes better.

Here’s the screen before attaching.

And here’s what it’ll look like with the seven gallon final home when we uppot from the 3. Fill in the blanks - use your imagination.

It’s a tall scrog. I’ll lose the lower nodes and strip everything below the screen, then flip before it’s full and train and finish filling through the stretch, so as to keep the end height lower. I have to work this once she gets up there in my high end chair, with the 18” lift on the seat. But I can do it. And the underneath is super easy and accessible. I’ll shore it up later on and lose the tape ring, something more solid.

Voila!!! If you’re going to commit, then commit.

So is that A game enough Nick, or you want some blood too? Heh.

Love it!

You might consider adding a couple of spacer blocks to even out the center base. Seems like it would be a bit unstable but maybe the cloth pot would form around the two different heights in the middle?

And not very mobile so the outdoor spot has to be carefully chosen to max out sunlight?

Thought of that @Azimuth, but we are only talking 1/4 - 1/2 inch. If I let the pot bottom mold to that it will give me better stability when’s moving it around.

Also it’s quite mobile! It has wheels! It spins! The entire point was to make it mobile!!

Oh cool! I saw the spinner but missed the wheels. Carry on...

And lots of nice sharp pointy objects right around where you'll be tieing branches to keep you on your toes!
Yeah …. I considered going nuts since I have tons of corks. Could easily cover all the points with that. But too much shit work. I’ll just watch myself.

Wow!

That’s awesome. Really.

its not even your C game that people call your A game… 👍🏼❤️🙏🏼

It doesn’t just make sense if you’re in a chair - tents get cramped for everyone.

Very cool - get on to one to Vivo or someone to get something in production !

Well played, Sir!

Why thank you Mr. Hardy! So I have a 44” larger one too. That one is for the Super Silver Haze next grow. One plant in a setup like this in a 15. 44” round. Heh. In a 5x5.

So @NickHardy, I’ve been thinking about your giant SIP setup and the comment you made with the photo of the hedge. I got the impression you might really want to try a hedge-like training sort of thing. So I gave my Oregon Yoda a call and asked him about it, as he works on that scale and much larger. He said nobody trains outdoor plants but everyone should. He said whatever magic you can work in a tent will work even more amazingly outside. He said you can make one plant a field if you want. He had a few suggestions:
- use MSA, preferably a 40% concentration type stuff, to strengthen the branches as you’d need the support later on.
- use the wide-squared, twine-ish, white netting to help form the plant when it begins to get big and wide, it’s what I use in the greenhouse.

For what it’s worth!

I thought the thing about growing outdoors was the super penetrating, and moving, sunlight made training much less necessary. Interesting to hear his rather emphatic comments about every outdoor grower should be training.

But the commercial guys wouldn't have the time to devote. Backyard types though...

What’s MSA please, Sir?

Did I mention the blue PVC plan? I’m planning on pulling it out in either direction and letting it grow up along those bases. Maybe cut alternate nodes to only get the ones inclined to grow in those directions. And yep those nets - I’ve seen whole plants bagged up in them - necessary probably for the move.

Its a big old rectangular space which is why I thought of the hedge look!

My imagination not up to much!

Well, yes, but also no. He trains his 18 footers in the greenhouses along these lines. He does it like every six feet. Greenhouse growing is essentially outdoor growing. And he’s as commercial as it gets. I think that’s what he meant.

MSA - Mono-silicic acid. Essentially silicon. It strengthens branches a ton, but it also opens up and increases efficiency of transport mechanisms that feed the plant. It has zero downside. I use it religiously. Every plant. There are tons of products. Many are anywhere from 2-12%. Then there’s the real deal. 40%. You use drops per gallon. The effect is strong, fast, and unmistakable. You’ll feel it in the branches.

I forgot - dude there’s nothing you can’t do with that PVC. I might make a huge rectangle. Depends on where she’ll be. Suggestion: when you construct whatever you make, keep an eye to flexibility. You have no idea what this plant will do in the Godzilla SIP. It might open a black hole. If you made the whole thing from PVC so that pieces could be removed if necessary or it could be added on to (somehow?) that’s a best case scenario. Know what I mean? If you go too static on the construction you lose flexibility. I might make a series of 2x2 or 3x3 squares - start with one and as the plant outgrew it, just add a square. A modular design.

That’s quite a lot of money 😅 ($70)

That store Philospher Stoned is really good. Noth the platforms here Lazada & Shopee. Today I had Frass and Dynomyco delivered from them. They seems to have all the import stuff. I’m
Not looking at hoe much it is. I found the same thing for 20% the price ai think, even same style bottle so I’ll get one of those as well and compare. 550 Baht is better than 2500 baht!

You can add at prop/seedling stage I saw so by Tuesday they’ll be on it!
