Jon's Sneak It In Auto Grow

Congrats on the first of many Jon! Not much amber in there so it should be a great high. Tell the others to space themselves out a bit and see if they cooperate. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Are these the yellow leaves you're talking about:

I don't think that's a nitrogen deficiency but I guess you'll find out soon enough!
Nope, @InTheShed, that’s not the deficiency. That’s too much heat and too much light. That’s been corrected. But lower, around mid-plant, the leaves are yellowing a tiny bit, and I can see the emerging leaves are not emerging as green as they were or should. I’ll post a pic in the morning. You’ll see what I mean. Sorry can’t picture now.

My bad @InTheShed, I can show you now. Here’s a few examples. Do you still think I’m misreading it? I easily could be. If so, great, would you happen to have an alternate theory?

So I have the PMC out of the tent in the sun (pictures to follow shortly), which opens up the tent a ton. I think this looks pretty good - almost as if someone kind of knew what they were doing.

Here’s a wide shot and then pictures of each of the three plants in frame, 1 Dos Si Dos and 2 Watermelon Wedding Cakes, in that order.

Beautiful canopy, beautiful colors, beautiful growth.

Nitrogen is a mobile nutrient so a deficiency will start at the bottom and work its way up. If you were slamming P and K you might have locked something out up there.
Thanks @InTheShed. And not to be a pain in the ass, but if that is indeed the case, the only way I know to break a logjam (lockout) is to flush. But I have watered to runoff every watering since birth. I don’t quite understand how I could be creating a lockout. But ok, we’ll go with it, and then would you recommend a flush? Gracias Sensei Shed.

Thank you! I believe that using the @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pros as side lights for more than half of flower has had a significant impact, especially on the density of the buds. I have five plants worth of rocks, which I never get. Maybe I get 3 of 5 and the other two are more fluffy than I would like, or something like that. I will discuss this in detail later on. But yes, what a powerful and versatile light you guys have created. Looking forward to rocking them the way they’re intended to be used in the 2x4 when we start back up for real.

No sensei here!

Lockout can happen even if you're watering to runoff. It happens when there is too much of one or more elements in your medium that keep the plant from using another nutrient.

Here's Mulder's Chart:

SoilTesting_Fig2.jpg

"For example, adequate potassium aids in use of iron and manganese, but if it is too high it will hinder utilization of magnesium, boron, nitrogen, phosphorous and calcium."

Source

So potassium locks out nitrogen. It was one of the main issues with MC, since folks would add more to keep their lower leaves green but end up with too much K because of the ratio out of the bag.

Since you're in coco flushing is a pretty simple affair (with a wet dry vac!) so that's seems like a good place to start. Don't forget to feed right after.

@InTheShed - with all due respect, you have contributed greatly to the sum of my knowledge, and of many others - more than enough ten times over to be due the title of Sensei. Lol. That aside, thanks again. And now I completely get it. Excellent detailed post and I hope it is useful to others as well. Undoubtedly this is exactly what happened. All I knew for sure was that it was my fault. Heh. But I figured it had to be connected to the overuse of the PK 13/14, and I was right on that at least. Not that it was hard to figure that much out, lol. Anyway, yes, I’m actually going to flush them both. Can’t hurt, might help.
:thanks:

She’s close! For every picture like the first (which says ready) I have one like the second (which says not quite). I’ll give her another day or two.

And check out the drop of resin just hanging off this outcropping!

This clone has alternating nodes top to bottom. I guess that’s normal with clones due to their age? In any event, I abhor topping once I see alternating nodes, so we are just going to let her go. Once I feel her roots are well established in the 3 and she’s on a nice wet dry cycle I’ll put her outside to flower.

So you’ll be flipping her by taking her outside?

Nick
That’s the plan. She’ll go from 20/4 to approximately 12.75/11.25 or 13/11, and I have a cover prepped for her when she goes to her nighttime spot so as to mitigate ambient light from the variety of equipment and lights all around.

Apple Fritter
Day 73

Before I tied her colas back she topped out at 54”. I think this plant could fill a 10. I may try that next time. Her colas are rock hard. There is a ton of weight on this plant, much more so than it looks. What a nutso auto. Notice how much greener she is since the N treatment.

She is beautiful. 🍋

how are you going to shift the plants when you move? I mean you can time a run to end just before you move but that means starting totally bare.

Although you could probanly survive a decent sabbatical with what your currently harvesting!

That plan is a bit fluid. I have all the infrastructure and I have the space at the new place. Just a question of when. Once there I’m up and running within days as my workforce is already standing by. As far as the clone, she might be transportable if absolutely necessary or desired. Or she may become a gift to the new owners. Or I get stuck here long enough for her to finish. I’ve learned to live with this dreadful waiting/not knowing/being powerless to affect thing. Heh. All the others will be done by the end of August or so.

Yeah one plant probably not an issue, but easier in veg? I think I said I was invested in the clone last week? 😅

If I didn’t then I am now! Its mysterious. And the first time he’s sent you one? Could be amazing…
