Jon's Sneak It In Auto Grow

More Garden Tweaking

Pretty much everything I do now is to improve air flow and lower RH. By changing out the totes for buckets, I not only drastically improve the air flow from below to up high, I also get the inch or two of lift (height) I wanted. I also cleaned out between the buds a good bit. There are so many tiny crap leaves in between and down low I have to stay on it or I’ll have bud rot everywhere. The buds are looking great and everything is proceeding as expected and desired.

Here’s the tweaks, a back view garden picture, and a closeup of the gorgeous Dos Si Dos.

Very nice plants as usual. :thumb: :goodjob:
Thanks Keith. I fricking hope so. This has been one of my more expensive and work intensive grows. Next time we’re going EASY. I’m sick of being a slave to a bunch of crappy autos.

I have to say you do them so well Jon!
Thanks SO. Yeah people forget I can actually grow photos too I do so many autos. It’s okay. We’ll be reminding them next time.

Garden
Final Infrastructure
Thank God…

We are finally ready for the last month or so of flower. All totes replaced with buckets, lower fans in optimum positions, both AC units running on high. That gets me down to about 42-44% RH, which is gonna have to do. Temperature is 74-76 degrees even with two AC units on high and all the moving air in the world. That’s how much energy these plants are giving off, not to mention the obvious increase in light heat with the side lights. I must say, the @ViparSpectra XS 1500 Pro makes a nice side light. The main light is at 100% and the side lights are at 75%. We still have no burn or foxtails yet. My light rocks 680 watts so smoothly it’s insane. That said, I’m scared to see the next electric bill. The lights and fans are nominal - it’s the two AC units on high that kill me, and from here forward they will never go off. That will allow the temps to get down to about 65 degrees at night, which is fine. This is the month of the most electric usage, and it was no piece of cake last month. Lo (not) l.

Here’s the bottom and the top.

Apple Fritter
Early Flower

Sure looks like a sativa heavy plant to me. I’m loving these strings of pearls. This is the top. The top is basically a plant of its own. Anything from the bottom at this point is bonus bud. This is not typical of Sombrero training - in fact it’s the first time I’ve ever seen it happen like this. I don’t know why but this top just went completely apeshit. Loads of productive side branching is part of it. Heh.

Blurple/420h Closet
Light Division Information

The Pink Rozay is basically using the Blurple, with an overlap from the 420h on that side. She gets rotated as such. That allows the 420h to power the Gorilla Zkittlez and the Apple Fritter (no offense, blurple….), until the GZ comes down. Then both the remaining girls get real real happy. I have the GZ more squarely under the 420h than the Apple Fritter, until harvest. That also necessitates rotating the AF, as the door side of the plant gets less light than the light side, obviously.

Here’s a shot to try and illustrate what I’m saying above and a bonus shot of the tops of the Pink Rozay.

The stacking on the PR is to die for.

This is the month of the most electric usage,
Go on you tease - how much do you reckon just for growing?

Ours is about $550 in full operation but we’re gonna have an extra AC and the HPS/CMD soon. That’s just the grow bill. The total is $900 p/m during flower and veg. Gotta be $1000+ with the other lights.

Would someone buy my weed!

😅

Lmao. I haven’t broken it down like that, but as a partial list you can start with every 4-liter Remo ingredient. That’s easy enough to price. Then five new pots. Oh, and let’s not forget that to fill 8 pots, ie, 6 (7s) and 2 (5s) takes 52 gallons of coco. That’s six large bags. Also easy to price. Add to that a large bottle of PH Down, a large Bembe, a large Calmag plus Iron, a fresh Kelp Me Kelp You and Wholly Mackerel, a bag of RGR, a fresh Great White….then add 900 watts of light, then add two AC units running on average 60% of the grow, plus six fans…plus the cost of the seeds…put something in for my time if you like…oh yeah, new skewers and new plant tie stuff too…

Yeah. I hear you.

I just meant the electricity!
Lol! I don’t know. My deal with the powers that be is that I pay the first 150 a month of electricity. I have a feeling I’m winning in that deal.

Gorilla Zkittlez
Day 70

This plant is advertised as a 63 day plant. Lmao. She’s got maybe a week to go. She looks exactly like the plants used in their marketing, which I use as an indicator that I at least grew it right enough to resemble what their growers produced. Although she’s listed as an indica heavy hybrid (70/30 - pretty heavy to the indica side), the buds to my eye look more like a sativa. Small buds that are very dense. Long strands.

She will likely harvest this week. I haven’t even felt the need to look at her trichomes yet! Guess I’ll do that in the morning.

Sorry about the slight blur - I had to zoom big to fill the frame from the distance I was shooting.

Gorilla Zkittlez
Day 71

I’m going to let her finish outside as much as the rain allows. She’s only in a five (wish I’d have used a 7!) - she’s easy enough to lug around.

This does a few things:

- makes me happy
- increases trichome and terpene production
- allows for real color pictures
- the biggie - her being outside means her pot will dry out much more quickly. I will have to water her to runoff at least twice a day outside. This is MORE FEEDING than she would get indoors, as indoors she gets a gallon in the morning and nothing til the next morning. So for her final fattening (this is where we are now) she will basically get double feed. Heh.

There’s a lot more bud on this plant than I thought, now that I can see her, and she’s frosty as hell. In real light you can see she shimmers in the light from the buds themselves, not just the leaves. This one is gonna be strong. Again - heh. Also looks like a not too bad trim. The buds are hard, like olives with a pit. They’ll trim up easy. And as @StoneOtter noted: the purple is about to come in, however much she gets. We have the tiniest touch of it now, barely visible (good eye Otter!). It’s 95 degrees here where she’s sitting, so she isn’t going to generate color from a cold introduction of a
deficiency (as @Azimuth is fond of describing correctly). These will be the actual colors. Pretty cool. She’s not a yield king, at least not in a five. Obviously I’d get more in a seven, and this pot has been filled with roots for long enough I’m wondering if she might fill a ten. Probably too quick a finisher for that, I’d try it with a different strain. This plant is about the quality of the buds and the famous terps. If I get four ounces from her I’ll be super happy. I got other yield plants.

Here’s her light and dark sides (for another hour or so til the sun is up up and she’s lit) and a few actual color bud shots. She looks much prettier in the sun.

420h/Blurple Closet

The GZ going outside puts both our closet girls squarely under the light field. They’re much happier. And I don’t have to rotate anymore! (You know I will anyway, lol). Their air flow is way better and the timing is perfect. Soon I will switch the Blurple to reds only.

Clone Update

Well, I got exactly zero love on my clone questions, so I’ve made executive decisions. I deem her back all the way now. The lowest two leaves are not coming back, when they have no green they will go. The rest looks like it’s becoming a plant. So I also deem that she no longer has to be in the shade. I have her at about 400 ppfd, she’ll go up to 600-800 if she handles the first light bump up well enough. Soon I will uppot her to a three, which will be her final home. She remains on Remo veg week four feed.
