Jon's Sneak It In Auto Grow

Don't be fooled, though. It's all book learning since I don't actually grow anything as evidenced by my photo collection. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Jeez, I went out of my way to not mention that…

What’s exciting about today is that shortly I will be installing the sidelights! Today is the day to set the tent up for the real deal. If I get 1/50th of @Hafta (‘s) results I’ll be very excited. He has a secret weapon I don’t have - he uses side lights angled down and then also some low wattage LED bars around the bottom. That’s the way to do it.

Out of curiosity, is there no limit to the electricity budget or the lengths you will go to in pursuit of the Maximus grow? 🤔

Just messin' with you as I  do enjoy the innovation you bring to growing and allowing us to live vicariously through your grows. And your results speak for themselves. You are certainly among the best growers on this site and it's fun to follow along. :green_heart:

Aw shucks, Azi, I’m blushing. :thumb:

Well, I mean, let’s just say I don’t smoke everything I grow. So electricity is what it is. Fair enough?

In that vein - looking ahead and doing some rough math - for example - I’d be quite surprised if this doesn’t end up being 50-60 ounces jarred. All I have to do for 50 is average 6+ per plant. Hell, the 2 PMCs and 2 WWCs alone will be about 40 ounces at 10/per (par for those strains). So it’ll be nice to have a bunch of new strains, but even smoking around the clock, 50+ ounces is a lot to smoke.

So much to digest! Hope my stomach microbes are up to it?

Anyone care to take a stab or share their thoughts/information? Feel free!!! What else you got to do on a Sunday? Lol!
I was gonna jump in (until I read Azi’s like ridiculously good and detailed post) then I thought - you know what what Azi is almost certainly a ways ahead of my understanding but I’ll still write it anyway. Hope that’s Ok?

You ever bury a pet? Or seen a human grave shallow dug? Nothing untoward but Christian communities in Africa will bury like that. Cloverd and little plants immediately pop up above. The wood of the coffin, the animal matter inside they all release a nutrient mox that’s conducive to one plant type or another. Small clovers and stuff pollen in the air land first. Then worms and then insects and then birds. Invisible life swirling and recycling.

We are all made of stars - a book by Martin Chown a very good scientific author has a book called that. Moby ripped it off for an album or something. There is nothing happens on pur planet without Photosynthesis - needs light from stars.

I’d be more surprised something wasn’t growing on the rootball.

Life persists. Maybe not human life. But something.

Loving the journal and the fun questions.

Muchas gracias Mr. Hardy! Appreciate your input.

This guy guards the outdoor plants from the pond side. He’s as big a gator as I’ve seen in our little ponds. 7-9 feet or so. In a wheelchair I give him plenty of real estate. Lol! I kept a bit of reeds from the bank for perspective, in reality he was about 50-60 feet from me. Camera was on max zoom (15x).

Pink Rozay

She’s getting ready to take off. Loves the sun. Hey @CaptainLucky, we were talking earlier about the 45 degree prayer angle on the leaves, yes? Well here’s the best proof there is. This plant is very healthy and well fed, and here she is responding to plain old perfect direct sunlight. I didn’t get my protractor out, but that there’s pretty damn close to 45 degrees. Maybe this is partially where that thought comes from?

You have crocs as well as gators in FL now. And non indigenous snakes.

They reckon most are illegal exotic pet releases. But the salt water crocs they reckon made it on their own. Which is incredible.

Such a distance. Some flukes of currents and winds.

Changes and a Vision Comes Together

First step was to remove the plants. I put them all on the table outside.

Then a tent cleaning and removal of everything but the six equally sized buckets, placed like the 6 on a die. In go the girls.

So now you can definitely dig the vision.

All done for a few minutes. Side lights are next. I’ll use the side bars for them.

Heh.

Training, eh…

I should try that.

I have the most ridiculous idea.

Thanks!

All looking cool buddy! I was catching up on the Photo of The Month thread. Yours I love - bith the sentiment because yeah its hard yards and also - the hole in the brown linen fabric pot is just perfect! The colour of the pot just lovely organic looking (even of from being stained by soil and chemicals 🤣)

I need steel clippers and steel wire of two gauges and say than you to someone!

Off to shop

Looking great man. Loving the more “instructive” posts.

Appreciate the encouragement on the “instructive” posts. I am hesitant to try to “teach,” as I honestly inside don’t feel I am qualified to a lot of times. So my style is more to “display” what I do and why. Then if people get something from it or want to ask questions I’m more than happy to expound. I tend to overuse qualifiers like “imho,” or “to my eyes,” rather than just stating as declarative sentences, cuz mostly what I talk about is observation/experience based and not hard science based. If that makes sense. So thanks.

Makes perfect sense mate - certainly more qualified than me!

I out something together from that post and someone else’s grow style and bingo!

I have an idea for training hoops for my 18 Solos!

Cross pollination of ideas.

Love it man.

Nick
I’m busting out the hula hoop rotation scrog screen for a 15 next grow. This thing is 44” across!

It was @bluter and his cool conical training things. So cool.

Showed them to & Co

“Yeeessss! You not try to do for yourself I get the guy make the pallet today make for you he make correctly!”

- So you like them, then?

“Yeesssss!!! Maybe can make for upstairs flower room bigger size as well. Stronger wire. Nooow! Go away need trim this tonight!”

😂

So thank you both!

Triggered some thoughts.

Perfect!

Rather Involved Training Session
All Plants In The Garden

Dos Si Dos Day 25
2x Watermelon Wedding Cake Day 22
2x Platinum Mimosa Cookies Day 21
Apple Fritter Day 15

It was time to get serious. Now, after an hour or so, I have all the plants with their base canopies in place. Everyone is at the same level. All the huge pairs of upper fans are gone except the one pair I couldn’t bring myself to chop yet (pictured). Now it’s time for selective side branch topping, going as wide as we can, maintaining a flat top at the same level as all the others, and all that fun stuff. Watch the middles grow out and catch up to the rest of the canopies.

Gotta make ‘‘em ugly before they can be pretty. Nature of the beast.

Here’s front and back views of the session, the one PMC I left the fans on, and the results.
