Lol. I was just about to say thanks for filling in the gaps with detail that I wouldn't be capable of. I got the bare bones right I think, but he's gonna benefit more from the detail you provided. Nice.

@Jon ,@bluter ,@Bill284 Thanks for the tip guys, I'm a little in the bottom of the discussion and we'll see, otherwise today they got the dressing so maybe they'll be fine, otherwise the shade is light, but thanks for the other advice I'll inform you

Do you have a schedule for your nutrients?
Are you following the dosages and timing recommended for your nutrients?
Giving them everything recommended?

I go exactly according to the plan, I don't change the water and I only fertilize the fertilizer every other day, so about 1L into each plant is about

you don't pH the water? is that what you mean by not changing the water? You should wait to adjust pH until right before watering the plants so that you pH adjust the final fluid going in... and it should be at 6.2 - 6.3 pH as earlier mentioned, no matter whether it is plain water or water mixed with nutes.

If you are not watering to runoff each time, but instead thinking for the plant and deciding yourself how much water to give, you are not doing this right.

If you are watering each day or every other day, and not letting the soil dry out as dry as the Sahara Desert between waterings... you are not doing this right.

And yes, please read my watering article. I am always happy to answer any questions that may arise from doing so.
 
Morning Jon! I checked around on 'Great Lakes Water Only' soil and the reviews seem positive. I also ordered square 5gal grow bags, I should be able to get 4 of them under my lights easily. Today I'm making bubble hash with all the ok stuff from the grows. There's some pretty good stuff in there too so hopefully the hash is good. Only one way to find out! I don't really care because that gold leaf photo turned out to be really good and I have a lot of it.

The 4 seeds all popped yesterday so they're in soil under the lights at about 78 degrees. I'm hoping they break ground today.

I noticed a lot of what looks like mildew on the outsides of the grow bags I used last time. I tried cleaning them with bleach without much success so I got rid of them. Have you had any issues like that? I didn't notice it during the grow and it's hard to miss so I think that happened afterwards.

We water them every other day, but now we let them dry as you advise me, and then I will continue according to your plan. I haven't always added clean water with adjusted pH with nuts and adjusted pH

I get salts buildup on my grow bags.
It look like fek and is hard to remove.
But harmless I think.
Imagine that build-up around your roots,Yeiks.
Edit: don't use bleech.

Well, your love for the worst division in football notwithstanding, yes, often times I have garbage on the outside of the fabric pots at the end of a grow. Not sure I'd call it mold, but it's a green coating sometimes. Some of that comes from stuff like molasses leftover in the fibers and it molds. You can see the same thing if you use molasses and fail to vacuum out the runoff and it sits in there. After a few days it will become moldy on top. That's why I always remove my runoff about half an hour after watering when I know it's all run out. I don't want mold. And I don't need the extra water in the tent creating extra humidity.

Personally, I wouldn't use bleach on anything I was ever going to use for plants again, try warm water and dishsoap would be my suggestion. I found when I remove the old dirt and let the pot dry out completely it usually comes right off. I clean my tents after each run too, and sometimes I get the same thing on the outside from AC water runoff or whatever, and again, I wouldn't use bleach to clean it. Maybe it's okay to do that, but I wouldn't.

If you use calmag put it in your water first every time.
Mix well let settle.
Calmag helps with nutrient uptake.
Them micro nutrients, grow nutrients, then flower nutrients, then anything else like silica last.
Then when your done then set your ph, last every time.
Then water properly.
Always chec ph of everything going in.
Then let dry, sometimes 3 days or more.
Very important for air around your roots.
When dry apply 6.3 ph,d water same way you water when feeding.
Then let dry real dry.
Then feed with full nutrients as per schedule at 6.3 ph.
Then dry.
Water.
Dry.
Feed.......repeat exactly each time.

it's salt and nute build up. sometimes you'll get an algae ring when the media is wet as well.

the bleach won't help much, and will probably degrade the bag some. you can place the bag in an h202 bath, and then just rinse and wash as normal. you might not get all of it off but it will be neutralized and won't affect anything.

Ok I will definitely try it and see what it will do calmag I do not use but maybe it is contained in fertilizers I will have to look.
