Jon's First New Digs Grow

Beautiful trichs Jon! How are you settling into your situation back in PA?
It’s slow going Shed, thanks for asking. My
Mom timed her descent into dementia perfectly. Lol. As the primary caregiver I’m a bit frazzled. But still loving being in Pa.

That's a really tough job but if anyone has the patience for it it's got to be you.
:green_heart:
You’d think, right? I thought I had the patience of a saint. Nope. Turns out I’m a goddamn human being like everyone else. Oh well.

I get it Jon. My mom is going through the same.

I thought I'd be able to...well, actually I don't know what I thought I'd be able to do. But whatever I had in mind is turning out to be a bit more difficult that I would have thought.

Day 79

In the last couple days these guys are kicking the final fattening into high gear. I learned the all important mantra very well from my touring days with the Dead:

Don’t leave before the miracle happens.

Lol. But really. The final fattening phase is a legit thing. I see many a grower wanting to harvest before this, as it’s easy to get twisted in early growing. Each strain will do it to differing extents. It’s like the last maybe ten days, maybe two weeks or so. Suddenly you look at the buds and there’s, like, visible growth! Thought those fuckers were done, what’s this?

So I show pictures with probably annoying frequency, but these really show you exactly what it is. I’ve grown this strain a bunch of times but this is the first organic run, and I’ll tell you, this is apeshit. Never seen them finish like this. It was so odd to me I checked the one small bud I should’ve chopped long ago, just in case the damn thing was making seeds. Nope. And bonus: these are WAY denser than this strain has ever given me before. Rocks. Grinder weed. I’m pretty psyched.

So the extra new growth - it’s pretty easy to spy, lmao.

That’s as well put, and I’m hearing slightly tongue in cheek, as anyone has ever described to me. That sentence starting with “I thought I’d be able to…” says it all. I personally choose to see it as an example of my arrogance. Ain’t on them. It’s on us. Least that’s how I see it. Thanks GDB.

Give yourself more credit since nobody's perfect. Not even saints!

If you (or GDB for that matter!) need my ideas on how to love parents with dementia feel free to PM me. It took me a while but I got to a good place with my dad.
:Namaste:
Wow. I am much less on an island than I thought before this discussion. Muchas gracias Shed and GDB.

You're not alone Jon!

And those buds are becoming obese! :ganjamon:

Sorry to hear about your Mom Jon. ❤️

The ganja is looking fantastic!😍 I'm glad you're enjoying the organic part. It's cool to watch how the plant wants to grow vs how we force them to grow. They truly are what they eat. Nice work!🥰👊

PS, watch for nanners in the new growth creeping in. If they are ever gonna self pollinate, now's a very common time.

Thanks Gee. I’ve been looking . I think it’s too late now . The one is two days out and the other maybe five. But thanks! Last night I was laying on the couch almost asleep and suddenly the taller plant bowed to me. I watched it in slow motion do a full bow all the way to 90 degrees. The stem didn’t snap or crimp, the roots didn’t pull out, and no harm no foul. I got lucky I happened to be in the room. Phew!
