Jon's First New Digs Grow

So speaking of Carmen, she sent me a link to this product cuz she knows of my predilection to make a lot of kief. I checked it out and wasn’t sold. Not for this price. However, if you go down and open the videos, there are two - one is using the machine as a flour sifter. The other is the results of someone who used it to make kief. Looks decent. It doesn’t show if it was made from trim though. Obviously I would never make kief from buds, unless the weed was crap. Anyway, never considered something like this.

He mentioned he had some outdoor to make kief. I don't know whether it works with leaf material.

Set it up in a freezer

Biggest thing I found was getting everything cold enough that the friction between the materials shears the tric heads off the stalks
Whether it be bubble hash, dry ice or just cold
Warm weather or at room temperature got a lot more plant material

Hey Jon, looks like it has different sieve sizes too! With that some top quality full melt hash can be made.

Forgot to say also to keep the Trichome heads from sticking together so they can fall thur your screen or get stuck to your screen

Edit and the harder you shake things the more heat you create. Look up friction, welding, or ultrasonic.

I agree. In my poor man’s Trim Bin method, (cheap but you gotta put in some time to get good at it), I found early on that an overnight in the freezer with the next days kief load of trim works wonders. Yields more, and it’s way cleaner. So add a fourth method to that list, lmao.

Too rich for my blood for a mere sidelight. Least for me. I have so much kief now all I do is give it away. Lmao. Interesting though - I have several jars of different strains that are now like three or four years old. A few haven’t even been opened that whole time. And what seems to happen, least in these small Infinity jars and I’d think any sealed container, is that besides curing just as weed does, it also becomes darker, stickier, and more hash like. I call it half hash.

This is a jar of my Dos Si Dos. The DSD I grew once in my life - my one outdoor grow. This, the Blueberry, and one other were my very first plants in coco, when Sensei @Bill284 was teaching me the ropes and wiping my ass for me. You may remember that grow, @StoneOtter, it was when I had built that huge wooden outdoor grow room and had that and tents and outdoor plants. Anyway, that was what, like 3.5 - 4 years ago. Those plants finished in the tent, btw. They got too big to keep outside and I couldn’t move them around. Lol.
Anyway, note the color. When I made this, it was white snow. It’s been jarred in this jar since, and I popped it open like two weeks ago. First picture is for scale. The last picture is an attempt to show the consistency and how it holds together. All my older jars are like this.

Pretty cool. Way smooth. Way strong. Tastes like heaven. Smells like fruity, gassy perfume.

Man Dos-si-dos is a special bud Jon! That flavor! The pressed version I had was an orange citrics to remember! I imagine your kief may be the same but different :p ! I'm starting one now for the next grow. I like it for the taste and my wife likes it for the narcotic way it puts her to sleep.

It's decarbing Jon. I've been studying hash making and when you apply heat to turn trichome heads to a temple ball consistency, trich heads turn dark. Frenchie Canolli calls it a semi decarbed. Bright minds!

Sorry for your Pittsburgh disease. :rofl: We just saw who the best football team in Pennsylvania is. Although I have a ton of friends from there and lived there 1989-1991, in time to see Lemieux and Jagr in their primes and back to back cups. Cool city. I had a blast there. I think that was when Rapistburg, I mean Rothlesburgh, was QB but maybe he was after.
