Jon's Dedicated Fruity Pebble Cookies Grow Plus The Mystery Plant

Necessity is the Mother of Invention

Just discovered a new use for the exhaust pipe on my tents. I said I was feeling a bit ornery this morning, so to chill a bit I decided to begin the day with a bong hit of the Kush Mints topped generously with the Apple Blossom kief. This was an attempt to bring a little "up" to a very heavy indica, as the AB kief is my most sativa in effect. Kush Mints is the real deal if you're a heavy indica fan, and boy oh boy is it good for pain. Unfortunately for me it also rapidly makes me sleepy and/or a little dreamy (which often translates as dopey, lol). So I gave this combination a shot.

I paid for that selection. Within moments of exhale my lungs expanded to the extreme from the volume of kief taken in on the first hit, along with the generous amount of weed underneath it I managed to draw as well. This began a two or three minute long coughing fit. Meanwhile, the "sweats" we get in our faces and around our eyes, more so from certain strains than others, hit me excessively hard. I had to put my head down for a few minutes and close my eyes and watch sparks going off. When I raised up my head and got back to a full sitting position, all I wanted to do was immediately cool my face and head. I happened to glance at the exhaust, and vioila!

This works very very well, btw. Lol. Very rejuvenating if anyone can relate to the experience. Once I cooled down I'm finding it actually may have had the desired effect a little bit. I'm feeling pretty clear headed and alert, but very very stoned.

Here's a picture of the Kush Mints, some of you may have seen it before.

Don't you think you should cut off those top two or three things sticking out above everything else?? I would make things much more even.

Why didn't I think of that? Thanks Azi! You're right! Who the hell needs two gorgeous, soon to be fat main colas on their plant when there's all these other buds? I'm being greedy. Sorry.

Cool. First time I've ever laid eyes on the strain, and this seemed to be a good example. Is it? If not, damn, a good example of it must be beyond insane, cuz this here is no joke.

Morning @Bill284 -

Hey Mucker, here's one I think (hope) you'll approve of. I have been watering Titan a little differently this time since flower began. Instead of drowning her first thing in the morning to total runoff, I feed her just until the outside of the pot becomes a uniform color again (you get that, right?). No runoff. That's at 6 ish or so after wakeup. Then, around 4 pm (remember, she's on a 20 hour day, this is halfway through) I again feed her, this time to runoff. It takes less to get to runoff on the second watering. I kind of think it might be better. I decided to do it this way to see if I could mitigate having roots in the bottom that never get unwet. This way I was hoping to keep them all well moistened at all times but spread the feeding out. Seems maybe she processes a little quicker this way, not sure.

What do you think?

Thank you!

See? Now you're getting it. I just want to help keep you thinking straight. :thumb:

And, just to calm @Emilya 's stress level a bit, Jon's in coco so the repeated waterings every day is ok.

Autoflowers and @GeoFlora Nutrients

If you are looking for the ultimate in easy, low-maintenance grows that will yield excellent results, allow me to suggest that it doesn't get a whole lot easier than growing autoflowers with these nutrients. It is as close to set it and forget it as anything to grow that I am aware of. The GeoFlora does all the work for you. You simply have to water it when required. I don't know if the Geo folks had autoflowers in mind at the time of inception, but they sure do make an already easier plant that much easier. If I were someone who wanted big yields with minimal time commitment and effort, I would find a bunch of high yielding autos, a few bags of GeoFlora, and go to town. I have yet to see a plant that does not respond well to these nutes.

Hoping this sort of cements the point a little, lol! Here's a picture of the incredible amount of work I had to do to get prepared with a nute station, mixing station, and side table for making sure the Zkittlez was squared away. She's in Sohum soil mixed with my spent soil and powered by GeoFlora.

Thanks Geo folks.

Morning :ciao:
I agree on the twice a day, 3 wouldn’t hurt.
I've tried many different ways increasing and decreasing amounts and times.
And I can conclusively say that without a doubt I couldn't see a difference between her or her clone beside her ;) Fed different amounts.
Don't forget you need the placebo group
Eventually I ended up doing something similar though.
Remember I had many to do ;)
Using my wond on a hose from the aerated pump chamber I'd slowly water around the outside edge until eventually the top is covered in water " feed not water ".
Then I'd stop moving on to the next repeating the process until everyone was soaking.
Then starting back at the beginning I'd flood the pot, fast.
Pushing through and out the bottom drawing as much fresh air in behind it as possible.
There by replenishing nutrients, washing out old salts and giving the roots a breath of fresh air.
This routine, usually twice a day in flower produced excellent results.
As long as I maintained proper ph I could feed them with a sling shot.
They usually just wanted more.
Ph, ppm,air then the microbes and fungi fed them for me.

Yours sounds like a good plan my friend, as long as she is fit & healthy and shows up for church every day " on time in her Sunday best " keep on your your strategy. :thumb:
I always say the best method is what works for you, Yada Yada hehe.
Hope everything is going well Amigo.

Stay safe :cheesygrinsmiley:

Awesome. Thanks, Sensei. Funny, I tried watering from as high above the pot as possible so as to get as much downwards pressure on the roots with the water as possible, trying to get the oxygen drawn through. Not sure how good that works in the tent, lol, all it gets me is perlite and water and coco on the floor everywhere. Lmao!!

Morning @BubbaKush909 and @Kanno26 - I haven't even gotten it yet, so I can't give you any direct reporting on it, but I can share with you the parameters and process I used to decide. Rexer helped me with these.

First I decided on a budget that was on the high side, due to Rexer's belief that when it comes to dehumidifiers, you get what you pay for. His thought echoed my own direct experience (and sounds like yours too Kanno) that those little $30-$40 ones that run on a tiny cord or batteries and you have to empty a small reservoir whenever it fills are complete garbage and do next to nothing. My budget was $150, $200 MAX. That's pricey I know. But in theory it would get me one that will last and work properly for a long time.

Next I identified the following features as must haves:

"Real" power cord, no batteries
Option to hook up drain line
Rated to cover more cubic footage than the volume of my tent by a decent margin
Sized to fit in the tent regardless of my chosen growing scenario
Possesses feature that allows you to set the unit to a chosen RH level and maintain it at that spot
Varying speeds/power levels
Clear and easy to read display that is easily covered for lights if necessary
Wheels
Well reviewed
Ideally!: feature that allows the unit to restart itself in case of a power outage when the power comes back on

Then I went digging. I looked at dozens of them, considering the scenarios that would have to be in play given the shape and size of the various units. I narrowed the list down to around four or five based on everything but the reviews. Then I checked the reviews for each and the ranking on the Zon in it's given category.

After all of that I showed you what I came up with. The only compromise on my list was the auto-restart feature, but as we have the hurricane proofing infrastructure that makes power outages impossible, I wasn't too worried about that one, especially given that it came in underneath the bottom end of the budget (around $140).

I will install and begin running it when it arrives on Friday, and it will take no time at all to see if it works as advertised. Of course I will report on my results.

Hopefully that helps you guys out a little!
I too went down the path of cheap. In lieu of buying a more expensive one I opted for these mini reusable dehumidifiers. They do help but like you said, you get what you pay for.

Wow

This is a picture of the very closest cola to my light. It is Fulvia's tallest branch. As you see it here, the tip of the leaves are 5 1/2 " away from my light. It's designed to be close like that, but I've never gone closer than 6". At 6" where this cola is, it is getting hit with ppfd in the mid-1400s. The bud on her will build to be higher than the space to the light, so inevitably this girl will get tied down if I can't figure out how to raise the light further. That is not my preference, as this is really the only rogue causing concern, the others are comfortably further away. If I simply pull her down a little I can let the entire canopy simply grow into the light and raise it if necessary later on.

What I find astounding is that this cola and the pistils and leaves on it don't seem to mind in the least. They are not burning, curling, taco-ing, bleaching, or tip diving, and the pistils are all pure white.

How much fricking light can these beasts take? Lord.

Yeah they saved me too! I’ve got another one coming for my drying closet right now.
Nice call @Venturisix! I use my little one like these in my drying closet. For that, they're perfect! They just won't do a large space at all.

Hey @Costanza, got an old 3 or 5 gallon pot that is still full of dried soil by any chance? I have a bunch, just in case I need to employ extreme RH measures. But if you do, you could put one in the tent under your canopy and it would help to absorb some moisture. Just a thought.
