Jon705's Multi Strain HPS LED Hybrid System

It look like it just has multiple diodes on one chip, 25 on each chip. So I guess that what COB is, multiple diodes on one chip.

And how can you do a good test without a KillAWatt meter?, you scrub! I am joking BTW making fun of that AZMedMan or whatever his name was that was trolling BID's journal.

That thing does seem pretty bright, your dogs look a little disturbed by it lol.

Just googled and COB stands for "chips on board" and exactly as you suggested - rather than single LEDs they attach multiple diodes to a ceramic board.

So each 'light' is 30 diodes so if they're 3w each it's 360w light, if they're 5w then it's a 600w potentially.

Careful not to burn your house down Jon!!

NEW information about the light : each part has 30pcs 3w chip. but we just drive 50w per part, so the light we send to Jon is 200w totally. the reflector is about 90degree. so the coverage is 3x3feet is ok.

As to the package. the box we are using is the best one, we have suggested to factory. but they told me this is the strongest one. when we mass produce this light, we will customize box for this light. the one we send to Jon is not the final box.

Wow! I couldnt imagine this light running full power! So because of the warm weather I ve been leaving the veg room door open during the day and closing it when we go to bed, with the 400 the room is around 88 degrees when I open the door, this morning it was 80 degrees so it definetely runs cooler than a 400w mh.Now that I know how many watts it is I am concerned with swapping it with one of my 600's but im still going to do it for one round, it would be pretty cool if I got comparable results with 400 less watts though:)

That light is bright.....and it looks way red! It's a cool looking light.............I hope it produces as well as it looks! Hose bomber told me I could replicate the "pontoon" for my induction light for about 40 bucks.....the mfgr wants close to 700! I was sorta dismayed when I found out I bought such an expensive light, and then the mfgr creates something that "I need"......to get better performance. Shit like that can kill a company...especially a start up.......he may have blown the whole deal!.....I'll most likely try LED next.......in conjunction with the induction at first. They show all the success in the videos.......and I have had some success.....but I think there is a tradeoff. While I use less energy, and my heat factor is significantly reduced, I think that the light is overated...........I may not be a master grower, and maybe I could get more from this light if I was....but this is still a field that I have accomplished a significant amount of study in....and If I can't milk the mfgrs claims about the induction....especially with the experts that advise me.........this light may not be able to support itself in the current or future market. I like how the test for these (LED) lights is structured....and I like how sara is conducting her business, + reps sara!

Yep im really impressed with how bright this light is bro, you can see how well it covers that 4 x 4 tray and it looks like it has great penetration but we shall see once the plants are 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide:)

PS: Pontoon?

Yah, I was thinkin penetration. Indagro made an add on for my light, its one long led panel on either side of the light...it sits on the light like a saddle. It comes on before the induction does, and I think it stays on after the induction goes off. Supposedly it triggers some kind of flowering response..............It's comprised of red only I believe...I had some faith in this company until they produced this expensive ass add on....I thought I bought a complete light when I paid 800 bucks for the one I have...........I bought my light...less than a year later they come out with the bullshit add on!

Wow! that really sucks bro, not a good way to stay in this bissness, especially when growers like yourself are journaling here for everyone to see.Have you contacted them? Tell them you have a high traffic journal on :420: that growers here are paying close attention and that you would like to show all of us how well this "add on" works, who knows maybe they will send you one for free, doesnt hurt to ask:)

When I first bought my light I explained my credentials and the kind of exposure my journal got...........I think I asked the owner if he would be interested in "showcasing" the lights on a major forum and I would be willing to run 16 of them and do a massive grow.....no response.............and dude had previously responded to any questions or issues I was having. Whatever......IDK what his motives are.....if the whole thing is a scam......or there's something to it. I will say this; its a 420 watt light, I think it will produce the same as a 400 watt hps.....that's it, I don't agree with their claims that it's equal to a 700 watt hps....IDc what the specs say....that's what the light will do.........I have 8 runs under it....my best pull was 12.5 oz., and while it's ok, the 600 watt hps walked all over it...with a 2 year old bulb....an opollo at that!

thanks for the info bro, and thank you jon and everyone here for helping to find the products that work for our application.
IMO this community is a must have tool for the serious grower.:)

Hmm..I guess led's arent the only shady grow light companies around, sorry to hear that bro.

Thanks Ronnie, even WHEN I make mistakes....if someone can move forward with the research then there's no failure for us...only setbacks..........I will say that I am impressed with the advancements with the leds....jon and others have proven time again that these lights are useable....which has been in question for some time. I'm very thankful that we get to participate in these folks grows......especially when we have a certain degree of confidence that they are being utilized by EXPERTS! You guys ARE the experts!

That's the reason why I am so excited when I see your success jon, you would have to push the inferior products aside with a bulldozer to get to the quality that you are finding through your dedication and diligence. The professional arena that could have utilized your skills.....in ANY field.... suffered a loss to have you working your own project independently.....you would have been making them millions!

Thank you for the kind words brother:Namaste: thats the problem though, making them millions and getting paid peanuts, I think thats why more and more of us are starting up our own independant projects, call me greedy but I dont like or agree with giving the governement half my check every week, the roads are still shit the snow removal sucks ect ect I refuse to line some fat greasy politician's pockets or some retired prime minister that I didnt vote for's pockets($170 000 a year pension) with my hard earned money. I am however taking a job at a tiny little restaurant as head cook in the next few weeks, the pay sucks but I love to cook, and since the pay sucks the government doesnt get much of it lol...its more for something to do during the long winter here, if im not working then im sledding in the winter, a full day of sledding cost a 100 bucks in fuel alone, it can get out of hand pretty quick:)
