Medusa
Forbidden Runtz XXL Autoflower
Day 57

Turning out to be quite the impressive plant in her own right, and there’s no shame being outpaced by the Watermelon WeddingCake - few strains can match the WWC for size and production.

Here she is this morning,

Banana Sherbet Flarf Report

This picture shows the totality of flarf from the scrog. The Trim Bin and box on the right are both all sugar leaf. This is what came off post fan removal and pre hanging. The two boxes on the left are the buds and/or branches of buds that would have dried to flarf. I haven’t begun to break them down yet other than removing a few stems. They are lined up here with a fan blowing directly on them.

Everything I hung I believe will dry to a legit bud, and the trim from that final trim will all be prime sugar leaf. I don’t really refer to that as flarf, as it has way too much value to wear that title. But the four boxes in the picture definitely are flarf. If I’m not conveying this adequately in picture, what I’m trying to say is that this is nothing! Very little flarf for a scrog that has produced maybe a pound of bud. My undercarriage defol was pretty effective and better than I thought. It also speaks to the penetrating power of the NextLight 420h.

Anyway, I’d have been fine with more flarf, but it’s a nice bonus.

First Smoke Report
Banana Sherbet
Kief

Duh, I can’t possibly review the bud yet. But we can say that the kief is awesome and gets you extremely high. I did a first pass on the sugar leaves just to try it. It works. Good indicator of the quality of the bud.

White Widow
Day 48

This plant stayed in veg almost 40 days. In my experience with regular (non XXL) autos, this is quite a long time. Wish they all did that. I’ll be trying Original Harvest genetics again. She has developed many a bud site and should be pretty productive. She also loves her new pad, as do I now that I removed the exhaust and filter. Not using it, (running this tent passive the whole time), so it was just taking up space. Much cleaner in there now.

Congrats on that amazing first node and the paucity of flarf! And I'd say that whatever is smokeable goes toward the 1lb goal. :thumb:

Is that a plant with no pot?
Thanks Shed! Only the buds that make the jars go towards the 1 lb. goal. That’s what I said to start, I won’t change up now just to make a pound. It’s either an honest, real elbow or it’s not. You know me Shed. I always toss my failures out for all to see! Lol.

No pot? She’s in a 7 of coco, perlite, bokashi, and frass. ?? Oh I see. I was able to get an overhead for a change, that’s all. Yeah there’s a stupid pot. Lmao!

Jon that is a large wedding cake mate, Hopfully mine turn out like that
Hey @LizardMate - it’s about as close to a guarantee as I’ve ever grown. This is my second one and it dwarfs the first one. First one was 12.75 jarred buds. This one is way bigger. Yes, I’m in coco and water, but this genetic is giant no matter what. How are you growing it?

Edit: here’s a comparison. I grew this scrog and it’s tons. It’s banana sherbet xxl auto, just like the watermelon WeddingCake. XXL. Emilya grew the exact same plant. She got almost 6 ounces in soil with what I consider minimal training. I got a pound in a scrog in coco. For what it’s worth.

Dam nice. yea I'm growing in organic soil basicly no nutrients (just a few feeds throughout the life). Got 3 going all vegged from about 55-65 days. Also took a clone of each plant and planning to regrow the best one.. If I can get 4-5+oz per plant it will be happy days

Nice! You should be in good shape. Watch those puppies stack and fatten!

Oh, I thought I was seeing the perlite and roots in this pic!

Lol, gotcha. Nah, just my filthy outer pit and two fans blowing up from underneath. Once the clips break on the clip fans (an inevitability) I repurpose them and use them like this.

Garden and Trim Update

Trimming:

Today is cut down day for the Banana Sherbet. This means she’s almost dry enough for jars, but maybe a day or a day and a half out. The outer sugar trim off leaves are all crispy, but you can feel there’s still some moisture to come out from the bud itself. This is when I break them down. Remove them all from the stems, break down the larger colas into smaller buds, etc. I basically turn the hanging weed into boxes of buds that are 100% trim ready. Then back into the dark for another day, then trim then jar. Once I’m sure we’re stabilized I’ll do the weigh in. But having done the breakdown, I’m guessing we are gonna be, in fact, a little shy of an elbow. We will know shortly.

Garden:
This is the big tent, the 5x5x9. We have two autos. Melissa and Medusa, our Watermelon WeddingCake and the Forbidden Runtz. The girls are both quite ridiculous. I have had zero res issues and have roots for days there, and the pyramid pot concept certainly hasn’t hurt the Forbidden Runtz. Not sure, but I’m wondering if just a straight 10 would accomplish the same results as this pyramid pot, and take up less space. Anyway, here’s the girls. And when you see them side by side, remember that these plants were planted and popped on the same day, and both are XXL genetics. Astounding difference.
