Jon’s 3 Autoflower - 3 Pounds Attempt Grow

My friend is here this morning to make sure I mix the @Prescription Blend nutes correctly.

You gonna eat that? 😬

I blame the lizard! On the plus side it doesn't see to have caused that monster any harm. :thumb:
Nope, I think she likes having her skirt blown up. It’s amazing to me how just the addition of one little fan blowing upwards changes the RH a few points. To the good side!

 No it’s all yours, lemme know how tough they are.
Lol couldn't help myself....

But your forbidden runtz is looking great short and stout.

Hope your having a good day jon.

You do what you gotta do….
This gives us almost a real canopy of sorts. Those two were simply getting too close and I have nowhere to go with the light.

Day 50!

Milestone day. This, I think, is halfway home. So far so good.

I tied down the two rogue (Uber dominant) colas to sort of match the canopy, which allowed me to turn up the light a touch. Also gave her an above and below haircut.

For those keeping score at home, here’s the skinny:

Underneath: 4 small fans blowing upwards, one in each corner.
Above: 1 oscillating fan blowing back and forth across the buds.
Outside: 1 5000 btu window AC unit blowing AC air in on high.
Exhaust Fan: Not in play - I am growing this as a passive system with no exhaust fan. The doors are never fully closed.
Temperature: 72-80 by day, 62-70 by night
RH: 50-60%
Nutes: @Prescription Blend, currently on week 3 of flowering in PB feed chart, always to the letter as prescribed. Periodically, today included, she gets a shot of Fox Farms Microbe Brew on top of the PB nutes.
Water: She’s firing on all cylinders right now so she is tearing through water at approximately 2.5 gallons per day. 3 daily feed sessions.

Here’s the scrog. I keep looking at this plant and I have to keep reminding myself that it’s an auto. Lmao.

Hi @Bill284, @Azimuth, @Emilya, @Rexer, @StoneOtter , @InTheShed, and anyone else who wishes to chime in on a question…

I’ve been thinking about the water pot for the Watermelon WeddingCake. I’m wondering - as long as I don’t put any water in that res, this thing should simply function as a pot, right? When the roots hit the plate that separates the water from the not water, if there IS no water, then the roots will simply curl around like in a normal pot, yes? It’s not as if they’ll reach for plain air, but if they land on water they’ll grow into it, right?

I have to leave town for the mountains from the 25-28th. I have to leave the plants to my stepdad to water while I’m gone. This is two weeks away. I was hoping I could get away with no res water until I return. There’s no chance of him managing the res for four days without killing my plant. And given the timing, I think that’ll work. I wouldn’t think a bunch of roots would be massed on that separation plate before three weeks from now.

Anyone with input it would be most appreciated. Thanks!

It's a bit of a guess for me.
I'd say that if there is no light entering the pot, there is a chance of the roots filling the space. That's my bet

Always deep thinking going on here Jon. Keeping it simple might be the best course for your stepdad. 3 days shouldn't do harm to her like the others said I'm thinking too. A little drought won't hurt them at all. My guess is roots will build in their own way until you come back and really wet them down down there, and then blast for you. Mountains sound fun! Where you finding them?:hmmmm:
