Joe's Grows

Heeeee brew!

Omg she looks fucking great!
Thanks Trala,
I'm pretty happy with her myself. Just goes to show the genetics are as important as the growing conditions.
I might have overwatered her a bit though. :eye-roll:
Hope you had a nice holiday.

Hello

Saying goodbye to bag seeds is a game changer for sure.

Your 3 Wookie F2 Autos should get to you soon :)

Started on the supercropping today.
I use a pair of long nose pliers with a flat gripping surface to squish the stem, they're a bit dirty but she'll be right mate
Also removed a few leaves from the bottom.
Noticed some possible burn spots from foliar spraying while the light is on, :eye-roll: dumb-ass.
And a pic of the light from the plants perspective.

I think I burned the tips of the new leaves when I went over the top with the pyrethrin. Maybe the Neem?
New growth looks okay now, and no visible bugs, so that's good.
I spread her out some more with the yoyos, so every new shoot gets light, especially in the middle. That's where the majority of the light is focused with the board I have, so I'm taking that into account when I'm training her. I believe bar lights spread the light more uniformly across the tent, but you work with what you have.
Also added some more gnat barrier.

Joe I am so impressed with your grows brew.

I see the work you put in.

Good job bruv.
Thanks Trala, that means a lot coming from an accomplished grower like yourself. I do put a lot of time, money and effort into my grows, especially when I have great seeds to start with.

Hate to jump in with bad news but it looks like you might have a ball sack growing where you super cropped.

Hey there Regrowth. Thanks for stopping by.
Not gonna lie, I'm a bit nervous now, I see what you're talking about. I'm hoping it's just a calyx forming that hasn't developed pistils yet. If it's a male I'll be disappointed, but I've got some Swiss skunk seeds I'm just itching to grow, so no major drama. Just means I'll run out of smoke before it's ready 😭.

I'm not sure what's wrong, but I've noticed a problem. The tips of the leaves are burning and there seems to be some twisting. It started happening after I sprayed with pyrethrin and Neem oil. I followed the instructions for mixing the Neem, and the pyrethrin is premixed. Each was used separately, but I was quite liberal with the application. It may be coincidence, but it seems like it could be related.

Okay, so after some research into possible problems causing the symptoms I see, I may have found the reason. I was under the (false) impression that I didn't need to worry about the pH of the water I used in living soil. I just checked the water I've been using, and it turns out the pH is 7.8
The last time I watered was 10 days ago, so I made a 5ltr mix of water, yucca extract, organic acids and superthrive. I used pH down to bring it to 6.5.
I watered slowly around the edge of the pot and I really hope it works.
I hope I didn't mess up too bad. We'll find out I guess.
From now on I'll be checking the water pH every time.

I found a mealworm in the soil. I did add mealworm frass a while ago so I suspect that's where it came from. Apparently they eat decomposing organic matter, and I haven't found any literature that says it's bad to have them in the soil, so I'm not too concerned about it.

I love Yates products but my plants fucking hated that product. I remember using it once on my gorilla glue grow. I don’t like leaf food products. I feed via the roots.

Best product I’ve used is an eco product. I have that neem and will use it in my summer grow, but the other Eco product is where it’s at. Kills em dead.

Yeah the Yates is pretty hard on the plant, but I'm still seeing mites after using it. It does slow the population down, just not fast enough for me. I might have to get some stronger stuff from the grow shop. The Neem should keep any other insects at bay, I hope.
