Joe's Grows

You know how people say LoL all the time?, but they're not actually laughing out loud? Well LoL, I literally have tears in my eyes. He was a badass alright
I showed my poodle his picture and she's shaking right now. She's a lover not a fighter
Oh I didn’t realise she was a girl.

Lover you say? My Billy would have absolutely ruined her. He was quite the dressing gown fucker if you know what I’m saying (and just in case you don’t, he had a dressing gown fetish. Come winter everytime I went to put my dressing gown on, he would be on it like Hugh Hefner on a 17 year old starlet, useless redundant geriatric cock and all)

Definitely a lover, (not on my watch) this guy wants to 'ruin' her as well...
get in line buddy!
Here's some pics of my 2 girls, and the neighbors 'roaming Romeo'.

I love dogs so much more than people.

We are having Billy’s funeral tomorrow. We were going to do it as a family last Sunday but I was too sad. Just us and the kids. My son really loved him too, as did his girl and their youngest boy. The first born grandson not so much lol.
I love dogs more than people too.
I wish they didn't have to go...it hurts.
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

I got some Neem oil and a better sprayer. This little unit has an adjustable nozzle which makes it easier to direct the spray.
I mixed some yucca water and added the Neem oil, then I misted everything. On top, underneath the leaves, and I soaked the mulch too. Those little bastards won't know what hit them.

One question; how often should I spray with Neem oil?

If I have bugs I spray neem oil every three days for a week and that normally destroys them. I also spray outside of the tent or garage doors leading to the tent if applicable. I haven’t had them for about 5 years thankfully.

So I gave her another dose of Neem oil today, I sprayed the hell out of the mulch as well. I then trimmed some of the cover crop away to give her a bit more room to breathe. This pic is taken at the time I sprayed, she looks a bit sad about it.

Today I started training her to take advantage of the light spread. Since the light is rectangular, I figured I'd try to arrange the bud sites in a rectangle. (Sorry Trala, I did say I'd probably change the plan anyway  ) I pinned down the 2nd set of branches, and I'll pin the lowest ones when they get a bit bigger. The top ones will be supercropped and tied into place when they get bigger, and that will also allow the lower branches to catch up.
I removed the bottom leaves because they were touching the ground, and I trimmed back some more of the cover crop to give her more room.
I'm spraying the mulch daily with the Neem oil mixture, and I spray the plant every few days. Don't wanna overdose the poor little thing (Thanks for the tip Bionic Chronic)
Anyway, I think that's about it for now.

Oh, that's right, I can see tiny trichomes on the leaves already,
I rubbed it cos I wasn't sure, and sure enough, it smells really, really good
I think I might be in for a treat with this one. You can see them in the last pic below.

Damn. Something has chewed on a leaf. I've looked everywhere and I don't see anything that would be the culprit, I'm assuming whatever it is, it's coming out at night and having a munch. I've been foliar spraying the plant with Neem oil every 3 days (5ml per 2ltrs) and I sprayed around the tent and the door etc.
I'm wondering if I should spray more often, or if I should make a stronger mix.

Had a look this morning and I see new leaf damage. The underneath of the leaves are clear, no visible bugs. But I do see fungus gnats. I definitely don't want them in the tent, so I'll be attempting to eradicate them as well. The fungus gnats wouldn't be eating the leaves though. The Neem oil seems to have had no effect. I might have to try a pyrethrin pesticide instead.

I've gone full defcon1 now.
I removed the mulch to reduce the moisture in the top level of the soil, and spread diatomaceous earth around. I also moved the fan to blow directly on the soil. Next time I'm in town I'll get some more diatomaceous earth and some pyrethrin pesticide.

IMG20220715114855.jpg

So I went into town and got some stuff to control the gnats and mites.
I couldn't find any diatomaceous earth so I got this 'gnat barrier' instead. I also got some pyrethrin spray and some more yellow sticky cards.
I got some hydrogen peroxide (3%) as well.
Since I'm such a good customer I got some freebies too, another co2 bag and some coconut water powder.
I put the gnat barrier down and then I foliar sprayed with the pyrethrin. I made a mix of h2o2 (4.5ltrs water and 0.5ltrs of hydrogen peroxide) and watered her with the mix.
I've never used h2o2 before and it's a bit strange to see the soil fizz, but that means it's working.
I don't see any bugs now so I'm hoping what I've done is working. We'll see I guess.

She's looking pretty good I must say, considering the bugs I'm dealing with. The phrase that comes to mind for the way she looks at the moment is 'plump n greasy'.
I can see a few mites on the surface of the gnat stuff, but the plant is covered in the pyrethrin oil so they won't be able to lay eggs.
Hopefully they'll all be gone soon.
Haven't seen any more gnats, and the yellow sticky cards are clear. You can see in the pic, (it's not very good cos I took it with the flash) I just stuck the new one to the bottom of the old one.

I may have overwatered a bit. She looks 'plump', and the tips of the leaves are slightly droopy. I'll let her dry out for a while.
It looks like I'm on top of the insect situation, haven't seen any gnats or mites for a day or two.
