Jgrowlove's 50 Fire Strain Hunt: 1000W HPS

Without the original, P1 parents, White (Black) Widow cannot be accurately bred. It's an F1 hybrid which requires two, specific parents. As only MNS has the P1 parents, only their Black (White) Widow is legitimate-the others would be f2, f3 generations, et al, and would not exhibit the homogeneous traits of the original stock. White Widow, while powerful, and undoubtedly a classic, has been so knocked off, inbred and clusterfucked by shitshows like Dutch Passion and Nirvana, that the only way to truly experience it is to buy from Mr. Nice.

That's probably true. Luckily the Dutch Passion variety is also a fantastic smoke/high

I didn't notice this post last time I visited your journal. This is really sad news. In regards of medicinal strains, I've mainly focused on pain-relief. When it comes to cannabis strains and cancer I know very little. But I'll make sure to research a little. If I find something interesting I'll of course let you know. Great thing you're doing for your aunt!

PS! You may already have some good strains against the side effects of the cancer treatment. Northern lights if for example great against nausea

Thanks for the great info bobrown. I'm looking forward to improving my environment so I can get the best product from my future grows. I will sadly be finishing off this journal with a few pics of my favorite plant to grow to date Special kush #1 who is in week 4 in flower followed by a royal medic which is also in week 4

I've recently received the horrible news that my aunt has been diagnosed with breast cancer and I am currently in the process of looking for strains that are have high medicinal properties to help fight the cancer and deal with the side effects of chemotherapy. I will be starting a new journal at some point when I can get things cleaned up and reorganized. I appreciate all who have helped me along the way. Without the helping hand of the members of 420 mag I would not have been as successful during my first few grows and I am forever grateful. I will focus on finding medical grade medicinal strains for my next task and again any suggestions are welcome as always. Look out for a "Growlove And Heal The Wounded" journal very soon. I have been keeping this journal for over 7 months and have learned so much and am happy that I opened up and will continue to visit as many journals as I can. Administrators do your thing I can't finish my 50 strain hunt but I will be back very soon. As the great NCW says Keep Em Green!

The National Cancer Institute website has a section that provides a basic overview of what cannabis is and how cannabinoids affect the human body:

“Cannabis has been shown to kill cancer cells in the laboratory”

The website references studies conducted on mice and rats that allude to cannabinoids inhibiting tumor growth by causing cells to die, blocking cell growth, and blocking the development of blood vessels tumors rely on for growth. It also linked to additional studies which are summarized below:

Cannabinoids can potentially reduce the risk of colon cancer due to its anti-inflammatory effects on the colon;
Delta-9-THC was found to damage or kill liver cancer cells;
Delta-9-THC had anti-tumor effects;
CBD caused breast cancer cell death while having little effect on normal/healthy breast cells;
CBD, when used with chemotherapy, may help make chemotherapy more effective and increase cancer cell death without adversely impacting normal/healthy cells.
Furthermore, NCI acknowledged that cannabis can help with the following:
Stimulating appetite
Pain relief
Relieving nausea/vomiting
Treating anxiety
Improving sleep quality
Despite all of this promising research, NCI clarified that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved cannabis for use in treating cancer, and only two cannabinoids (dronabinol and nabilone) are approved for treating nausea and vomiting as a result of chemotherapy treatment.

Found this info that may be of interest to you:

"If you’re looking for a powerful general pain reliever, Afghan Kush is the strain for you. Nearly 100% indica, this strain is native to the Kush Mountain Region in the Middle East. Featuring a strong, pungent aroma, the vapor of this flower will numb away body pain and keep you locked on the couch.

Because this strain is a potent indica, the effects will be felt mostly in the body. In fact, this is what makes it so great for those seeking relief from muscular and back pain. Not only is this little lady loaded with pain-fighting THC, but it’s also chock full of analgesic and anti-inflammatory terpenes. Particularly, the terpenes humulene and caryophyllene.

Their names may be hard to pronounce, but these potent flavors are the culprits behind the pungent and spicy hop aroma of Afghan Kush. Terpenes add to the strong body-numbing sensation Afghan Kush creates. As a bonus, caryophyllene also has anti-cancer effects. This makes Afghan Kush a good choice for patients hoping to manage cancer pain. Other strains high in caryophyllene include Hash Plant, Maui Waui, and Super Sour Diesel.

Afghan Kush also features potent antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help protect your cells from damage and prevent damage from stress. So, while you may have turned to the herb solely for pain management, you’re getting a lot more than that thanks to powerful cannabinoids and terpenes.

Here are a few of the beneficial flavors and cannabinoids in Afghan Kush:

Pain: Humulene (hops), caryophyllene (pepper), CBG, THC
Inflammation: humulene (hops), caryophyllene (pepper), CBG, THC
Antioxidant: caryophyllene (pepper), terpinolene (floral), THC"

A couple of other strains with caryophyllene are Jack Herer and Super bud (greenhouse seeds)

Special Kush looks sweet bro. :thumb:

+2 bro.. .looking forward to your next round. Many many prayers and wishes for health and happiness to you and your family.

Can always depend on change. Look to love and choose that path. :Namaste:

Sorry I've gotten so far behind.. GL with the Black DOG. Hopefully, you'll get something like I got. Not sure if they have alot of different phenos and if I just got lucky but I was impressed. And takes abit to do that anymore. Hell, even I could get alittle buzz. One of the better plants I've had in awhile. I'm fixing to do half my flower room with clones off mine. And I'm hoping one can make it in before molds set in outdoors.
Sorry to here bout your Aunt. We both Miss J and me have been dealing with C. Miss J had breast cancer. I say had cus they say they found it early and the surgery was pretty well guaranteed. She ended up having to do the whole 9 yards. But they say she's C free. Me they did alot of looking. All that Peta scans. I had a node in the neck swell. It was bad but they couldn't find the primary source and ended up stripping all the nodes out of my neck and afew other things that could be the problem. Then they wanted to radiate me after. Hell they don't even know where it is but they want to hit my head with radiation. Hey I'm stupid enough now just what I need, fry my last braincell.
Looks like you got some nice manageable buddage going on. Keepem Green

I've heard nothing bt good things about Inhouse genetics and especially the platinum crosses. So I'm pretty sure she will be frosty considering it's crossed with the (Forum) Girl Scout Cookies. She's only a few weeks old and still vegging bt I'm sure I'll have pics of her when I start training on her

I'm pretty new but of the 6 strains I've ran so far the In House is growing better than any of them. Huge fans, thick stems, crazy side branching... I popped 2 Grand Double Purples and got 1 male and 1 female. Its my first male so nothing to compare with but he looks like a beast too with the same explosive growth and branches everywhere... Trying to figure out where I can fit another little flower box so I can save his pollen for experiments!
