JBC's Super Soil - Fully Organic 4x Blue Mystic + 1x CH9 Jack FEMS

I turn off the HPS and use the 26w 6500k working CFL for taking pictures and general tent work. I now have my ballast on 100% so as appose to 75% (450w) so the girls are having the full 600w HPS.

Sorry to hear about the recent hermie problem but thats feminized seeds for ya, little temperamental bitchs that they can be !

I'm more of regular seed man myself taking clones from a female plant only, even tho i've grown the same strain myself from a regular seed female/clones i've still managed the odd few seeds to several on a plant or 2 of my own grow of Blue Mystic over the last few grows or so....


Yup hermies can happen on regular seed also... i guess thats a side effect of forced growing indoors ?

Normally occurs for myself in the last few weeks before cropping & often get semi formed seeds i find in the cured bud... not many tho !

Still smokes pretty darn good :thumb:


Not sure what has caused that with my own grow ? but might be partly due to the light regime used... to which i need to monitor results abit more before i can decide on the matter !

Or even possible light leak via passive vent !


Even tho a good wipe down of grow area with a diluted bleach solution after every grow has proved fruitful to reduce seed content has proved worth while, so cross contamination from past grows does enter the equation along with any bud handled from a unknown source which may leave pollen on your fingers/cloths when handling your plants !

Practice good hygiene when handling your plants, if handling strange bud before hand... wash ya hands :thumb:

Yeah hermi's are a ****! :) Would be best to do what you said and get a good mother plant to take clones from but thats more room needed. Think I'l just soldier with fems for a bit yet. I think it might of been the big drops in temps at nights last month maybe.

Anyway here are the hermi buds at 4 weeks. At least they smoke-able ,

I think hermie is just a plant's response to any sudden change it senses to a hard to survive climate or condition. Its only two things in life are to grow and to propagate and if any other conditions than what the plant has naturally evolved to survive in happen, the plant senses life could end soon and puts every bit of its energy into producing sexual parts. If hermie is in the DNA, it's coming out, too. Just my opinion. Nice buds by the way!
 
Cheers mate, Yeh I think your point on hermi's is right. Always something got to go wrong, life wouldn't work otherwise.
 
After I blew the plant off with a blow dryer set on low (in another room), I put my Chemdawg D BX 3 mother into the 600 watt HPS unit with the rest of that plant grouping this morning, thinking,"What if it hermies from stressing from the light change, and not only pollinates itself but everything in here? It's 2/3 of the way through; a critical time." Then I thought about it and realized that if a plant gets pollinated, all its other plant chemistries should stop and almost all its energy should start being used to create and protect the offspring seeds. It would seem like any mutations of marijuana that kept growing or flowering would be diverting plant energy elsewhere, creating weaker and fewer seeds and those seeds over the long run would have not survived to produce more plants that waste energy like that and would have been rendered extinct from evolution thousands of years ago. Guess I'll see if my theory's correct soon enough. Wish me luck!

Yeah Super Soil is great, it doesn't need to be as super as some mixes. I think it's more about getting the right ratios. But if they're right, its so easy. It is anyway, if it needs a lttle more of something then just give it to it. You only end up looking after a few probs if that, sort them and you back on track.

Like mine sometimes gets a little P hungry since flower. So I just topped it with more Guano and it was helping but with a little 1ml PK feed an a few molasses throughout there life, they do fine. I just watch. No more PH'ing or mixing nutes and all that crap. I just let it dry out and water again, Simple's :thumb:
 
Well put. Start with a known great mix, take ALOT of notes on every plant and adjust the mix accordingly, within a crop or two you will have a custom blend for ur pheno of Bubba. In the meantime the weed will still be stupid dank

Mine was just made up from what I watched online and here on 420. But seen as where I live and no one here does it this may I had to find my own mix out of what I could find here.

But like you say after a few grows you will pretty much have it dialed to your plant specs, your defo right I done one now and Only got to change a few tiny things and it will live fine with Blue Mystic.
 
I'm gonna try mineralizing the soils next round. Some calcium nitrate added and less 2 lbs of blood meal and bone meal to compensate and a pinch extra rock phosphate. Gonna peek into the high brix arena, eventually ill order docs batch but in the meantime I'm gonna Dink around.

Yeh might have to try that myself. It would be good to get a sample of your own sent off for analysis and see what it comes back as. You would know what you needed then to perfect it.

Some plants just want to watch the world burn :( sorry about them hermies buddy but by the looks of it they still produced some nice frosty buds :thumb: And for four week buds they look mighty tasty!.

My Joker haze is from hermied seed from my first grow i ran 4 of Joker haze seeds on my last grow and all but one hermied about midway into flower and they all reproduced with themselves before i could catch it, at the end of it i kept only seeds from the non hermied Joker Haze and since so far the one seed i planted from them hasnt hermied , not sure if its genetics or that i had a better growing condition who knows, Weed is a very strange plant, there are so many things we are still yet to learn from it:)
