JBC Pineapple Chunk - Tangerine Dream - Barneys Farm

What u mean rust rot? U have.rusty.looking dry.spots on leaves? Or on leaves and buds? Have u fed nutes in the past week? Ppm? If u have rust looking spots on leaves it might very well be nute burn. It happened to me n I was warned but I neglected it thinking it wasnt a big deal. Started real small n I jus used plain water for a week n returned to nutes only to burn the fuk outta em n also got a heavy salt build up due to me not flushing,,,,whats ur rh looking like? Do u have a fan blowing on ur plants?

Hi Gimmiethegoods,
I'll take some pics as soon as I can(hour or 2). But the rust isn't any chemical deff of nute burn, I defo know this as i've had both and most before. I have also had botrysis rot a while ago due to high humidity. I'm growing in a wardrobe and the conditions aren't great they seem damp. So I put a dehumidifier in there to sort it.

But the problem is I have them in someone else's house and i'm teaching the skill lol. But I don't have control of the room except every 2 days. I say leave the dehumidifier on but it doesn't happen. It's only on for a few hours a day. I think way of solving is to get a tent, get them here and look after them myself for the last couple of week.

The rust is that type of fungus that grows up trees in forests. I think it 100% a fungus, any ideas on good cures, FAST!!!

I'll be seeing them to sort all this tonight so i'll check back. Thanks for help.

defo worth investing i a tent jbc, worth the peace of mind knowing that if something does happen you can get to it right away, my humidity sits around 40 during lights on n 55 during lights off, gonna invest in a dehumidifier to help this time round,

hope you get it sorted tho bro, dont want all this effort going to waste. sending some good vibes your way

Hemp Diseases and Pests Management and Biological Control
Chapter 5 : Fungal Diseases

Section - RUST

DISEASE CYCLE AND EPIDEMIOLOGY :
All three fungi have been described from a single spore state. Interestingly, each represents a different stage of the rust life cycle (aecia, uredia, and telia, respectively). They could be different spore states of the same organism.

DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS :
True rusts should not be confused with "white rusts," which are related to downy mildews.

CONTROL :
Cultural control method 10 (careful pruning - see chapter 9) may be sufficient. Also follow method 7c (avoid excess humidity, avoid overhead watering and dew condensation in glasshouses). No biocontrol is known. Sulphur helps if one carefully dusts the undersides of affected leaves.

I left some info out. Good luck, JBC420.

Nice one potchimp and Taylormade!
Here they are, what you reckon 420?? Put a couple of the full beast for fun.

What you reckon on the Pineapple, the first few dark pictures. Could it be a copper deff. Rust mould wouldn't miss the veins would it? It would just spread. so maybe it is a deff.

Yeah man think you and gimmiethegoods right. Thought it had to much nitrogen due to curling leaves and dark green colour. But not the rust. But then done some reading and Nitrogen tox seems bang on. Its got the tall bendy tops with spaced buds and all is dark green.
It said also that if it gets worse the leaves turn copper like they are.
Think your right potchimp. Nice one.

Will need to flush the pineapple to sort it. Ive bent the tops of the tallest buds down 3 inch to close the gap a bit.

Those problems where I see deficiencies are making me think twice these days. Everything is there in the mix (as far as trace elements), so if I see signs of problems in the leaves, then I start looking for not so much what deficiency it is, but what is causing it. Hell, nutes are there; I just have to figure out why the plant isn't taking them up. In my case the roots were too cold. And a lot of damage.

was reading thru this to see if i could find anything

Some plant deficiencies

OOO yeah. That origanly came from you(gj). haha forgot. I saved it as a blog so I could always use it.

Think too much nitrogen, I reckon. So like potchimp said not a nute deff as they all there and the pH is 6.6 on both, so it can take them in.

Just going to feed water for a few feeds, see if it clears up.:thankyou:

hopefully wont do to much damage mate

keep us posted on the issue bro

:goodluck:

Yeah defo. Thanks for the help taylormade, potchimp and gimmiethegoods.:high-five: Hope to get it sorted, got a closer check on them at the min so I can take care of my girls. Think tent going to help as well with environment, cant trust wardrobes, especially in winter.

Hey bro hows the problems with the girls ?

From looking at her with the claw and dark green leaves it does look like nitrogen toxicity, the reason you are getting burnt leaves is because the excess N is locking out other micro/macro nutrients, flush would be first on the cards then build her back up to a nice level of nutes do you have a EC, PPM reading on the strength of your feeding solution?

Hey godspeed, No sorry dont have a Ec or PPM Check. Its defo a N tox. I have been able to feed with pH'd water 6.5 3 times with 20% run off. Will do that another 2 times at least before another last feed before the final flush. I will give them a feed tomorrow. Water for both of them.

Will get some more pictures on in next few days to show progress. The curling top leaves of the pineapple have started to straighten out again, so the water is helping.

Still running the dehumidifier for at least 4 hours a day to make sure the humidity is kept low. Was getting a tent but big mess up mean;t they had to go back for now.

Another lesson learn't. No point going at it without every bit of necessary equipment. But on the other hand its all good for the learning.:thumb:

Hey akaman, Thanks for stopping by man, appreciate positivity. Should see them putting on some weight in the last few weeks.

Just been over to your journal man, +reps on harvest bro. what was the final smoke like?
