PREPARATION:

The cabinets:

Building prep: Staining/sealing the body of the cabinet.

The wood before (White poplar veneer, over hardwood core)

The wood after sanding and staining:

I love how the grain is really brought out by this stain...

Contrast, before and after:

All done!

and the ruined bath towel to prove it...:cheesygrinsmiley:

Then I cut the lengths for the frame. The plywood behind is the Floor/Ceiling. 5/8 thick for extra strength.

Sub'd +reps J. Been a long time lurker don't comment much but, ive been following your journals since the inception of the cardboard project. Funny thing, My first bagseed grow was in a carboard box (with cfls) thanks to your journal and docbuds for the hempy oc plus journal. Your thoroughness, dedication, as well as your approach is very much appreciated, as I am in the midst of pulling the trigger on my second led. So ill be in the back watching.Again, thank you Jandre for not only the aforementioned qualities, but also for sharing. I'll now go back to my lazy boy and continue lurking.

Stay frosty.

Being that I'm in an unfriendly state, I don't want to change the good mojo, luck, vibes Ive had going since joining the site and growing by increasing my profile in said unfriendly state. (The big T) Don't want to jack up your thread with my ramblings Brother, continued grow love from a fellow cannafan and grow brother. Im not always logged in but I'm definitely ALWAYS READING.

Stay Frosty J,

It's a nice sunny day, the rain is gone for now. The yard is prepped, I have everything needed. I will begin to build the first of the grow cabinets today. Pictorial to follow tonight, after building.

Question: Do those of you following this thread wish to have more of a how-to type post on the cabinet, showing every gory detail of the build, or just a brief picture recap? Since this is about the Lights, more than my cabinetry prowess, I am inclined to do a brief recap showing the highlights, but if my public wishes for more, than of course I shall oblige. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm from the camp that believes more is better...

I wouldn't mind seeing how your cabinet build goes...but of course majority rules, so I'm good either way.

I personally am interested in the LED light and the plants that grow under it. Cabinets, tents and rooms are all custom and fitted to individual needs anyway so the cabinet assembly details are not needed. I'd say the final product is good enough. You don't have to be the Bob Vila of Grow Cabinets. Having updates knowing where you are in the process is cool however. So maybe single pictures and an update on where you are at will keep us interested IMO. Maybe if you had a separate journal just for cabinet construction it could keep things organized for those interested in the particulars.
