ISearch56 is Learning with Bag Seeds on the First Grow 2013

I definatly defer to Rico and KingJohnC's words. :) They are good to have on your side. ;)

Just a couple thoughts I have for ya, The first thing inexperienced growersdo when they have damaged leaves is to pull them off. This is the worst thing to do. Im sure Rico can correct me if my theories are flawed. ;)

Fan leaves are generally the first thing the plant will show a deficency on. But we want it to stay on the fan leaves aswe dont smoke these. :) When you remove leaves the plant can not saccrafice them so the problem moves to the smokeable parts. Cut off the infected area if you wish(like trimming burnt tips) , but leave the leaf so the plant can sacrifice the leaf and not damage the budding areas.

Also, nute od is a uch bigger problem than just dark leaves. basically every nutrient that she uptakes is a 'salt'. And once the salts get transported into the plant, they only 'come out' if they are used, ie, turned into sugars.
So when you od a girl, she may be so full of salts that valuable stuff (like Mg) cannot be transported because she has nowhere to put them. :)
Its not just about leaves dying, its about the plants ability to use what you give her when you give it. :)

Ok,you and Rico carry on now. :) I was gonna type that stuff last night and got carried away..by my bong.

Good point about leaves, Spimp :thumb:

Epsom salts can be used in solution to flush excess salts out of the soil.

Please stop spraying your leaves, ISEARCH :)

Rr thats All I Need to HEAR. . . . :thanks:

Down the road maybe you can explain foliar feeding. . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

Spimp it's OK if you get carried away TYPING . . . .

GREEN EVENING . . . . . :thanks: . . . . FOR CHECKING UP ON ME . . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

:scratchinghead: . . . . WHO'S MORE . . :hmmm: . . BELIEVABLE . .

This pics where taken this morning before I watered #4 .
In the first pic I'm checking soil PH. I left the meters in the soil for at least 10 mins. In the second pic the moisture. . . . .

I'M MESSING UP. . . . I FED /WATERED #4 ON 11-05-13

Advancednutrients Directions
Sphagum Moss & Soil base media: Use 2 mL per Liter of water for every watering during vegetative stage.

I used 2mL of SensiCal for 2.5L of water. #4 is in a 3 gallon pot.

I would use 1 tablespoon of epsom salt per gallon of water.

Do not use both. Make your choice :thumb:

The sensi cal will also add nitrogen, so be careful if you choose that. Thank you for the reps :ciao:

100_54703.JPG

I ONLY USED 1.25L OF the water and Sensical solution. . . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

Also I watered with 1.25L of plain water PH at 6.5 . . . . ;)

Since Sensical also contains NITROGEN . . . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

:thankyou: . . . . . rICORICO

GREEN EVENING . . . . :420:

Saturday afternoon I stayed with the plants for the last 15 mins before lights out for 6 hours. I WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE NEXT CYCLE " lights on-18, Lights Out-6, Lights WHERE ON FOR 3 HOURS. Now there's a lot of heat stress and burned from the lights. Mainly fan leaves on #4 and some of Linda's new GROWTH.

This pics of Linda & #4 are from yesterday around midnight

GREEN MORNING . . . . . :420: . . . . AND :thanks: . . . . FOR STOPPING BY. . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

I watered/fed Linda Yesterday afternoon, I used "The Hot Mix" That Nuted #3

This is what I did

Mixed 1/4L of The Hot Mix with 1.25L of water. The solution's PH was 6.7 I didn't get any run off. I also watered with an additional 3/4L of plain water PH at 6.5. I got a little run off. . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

5 Mins later As I . . . . :rollit: . . . . Linda BECAME ANIMATED . . . . :cheertwo: . . . . the fan leaves perk up Quickly.

I SAID TO MYSELF IF ONLY YOU HAD THE ENERGY AND WILLINGNESS AS Linda YOU WOULD GO AND GET THE

CAMERA MAKE A VIDEO OF THE FAN LEAVES MOVING IN SLOW MOTION AS IF STRETCHING AFTER A BIG YAWN. . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

I DIDN'T MOVE . . . . I JUST . . . . :tokin: . . . . STARED AT Linda ADMIRING HER AMAZING TENACITY. . :circle-of-love:

SHE GAZED BACK AT ME RESILIENTLY . . . . . :dreamy: . . THIS PICS ARE 10 MINS AFTER FEEDING/WATERING. . :cheesygrinsmiley:

THIS MORNING Linda AND #4 ARE LOOKING A LOT BETTER . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

I am glad to see you are fighting the good fight IS. It looks to me like that fan was aimed right at the spot where the leaves wilted and dried up on Linda. The fan only needs to make the leaves move a little; just so you give her fresh air to breath. You can also point the fan right up at the light to drop temps slightly if you need to. You did well to let the soil dry out all the way, you are learning lots, that is very clear.

GREEN AFTERNOON TEACHERS, AND CLASSMATES . . . :thanks: . . FOR CHECKING UP ON MY PROGRESS . . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

Rainstas thank you for the advice and the words of ENCOURAGEMENT . .:high-five: + REPS . . :passitleft:

I had the lights to close, I was doing to much adjusting and to soon from each adjustment. YES, YOUR RIGHT, the heater fan does not move. This is what it is at the end of the day "THE LIGHTS" at least for ME.
In my humble opinion LIGHTS TO CLOSE CHANGES THE TEMP AND THE HUMIDITY. . . . . . . :rollit:

This is what I USED TO DO BEFORE SUNDAY 11-18-13 . . . . . :geek:

The lights would make it hot, I'll turn the fan on, the humidity drops below 40%, turn the warm mist humidifier on. . . .

Humidity gets up to 50-60%, the fan made it cold, TURN ON THE HEATER. NOW IT'S HOT AGAIN . . . !@#$%^&*()_+ THE HEAT DROPS THE HUMIDITY AGAIN . . . . !@#$%^&*()_+ THE EDGES OF THE LEAVES ARE TURNING IN OR CURLING UP DEPENDENCE ON YOUR PERCEPTION OF THINGS. . . . . :bongrip: . . . . . .:420: . . . . :reading420magazine: . . . . :rollit: . . . . . . :nomo: . . . . . . . :tokin: . . . . :reading420magazine: . . :thedoubletake:

Hey KJC,

I found some time to come over here and see what's happening in your part of the world. I've read through both your journals and it seems you're quite the popular guy.

On the plus side there is a veritable smorgasbord of great growers and thinking minds who's input should make anyone's grow a resounding success.

However I am somewhat dismayed that those great minds with some notable exceptions are not making themselves heard in helping get some serious issues sorted over here. I'm sure John, you for one would love some positive input to get your girls back to a picture of health. Come on people do I have to say it those plants are still seriously stressed the upturned saw toothing on some leaf edges is a classic sign. Cutting off badly damaged fan leaves along with silly comments like “they're looking great KJC” has not resolved the problem.

In my view the basic functioning of the plants has been impaired in some way. Most likely light stress causing the plants to lose the ability to respire properly. So a new look at lighting at least to be ruled out first. Now guys you can jump on and bury me now. Or you can start banging your heads together and help John get those poor plants back to a proper state of health. Nuff said. Peace all.

IT WAS A VICIOUS CYCLE . . . . YES IT WAS . . . . :biglaugh: . . AND A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE IT WAS . . . ;)

HELLO WildRosebud . . . . :thanks: for the likes and reps . . . . :cheesygrinsmiley:

WOW . . . . I wasn't around for 2 weeks and there still alive. On 11-15-13 I watered #4 with 3.75mL of water + Sensical until yesterday I don't like that the soil stayed wet for so long. Yesterday I fed #4 for the second time I mixed 3/4L of water with a 150 mL of the nute solution that I made on 11-05-13. From now on I'll feed/water with 1.25L or less. The leaves on the top shoot and all of the new growth are thin and stuck together . . . . :scratchinghead:

GREEN EVENING . . . . :420: . . . . I CAN HONESTLY SAY I MISSED . . :rollit: . . UPDATING MY JOURNAL . . . . AND :reading420magazine:

RainStacks Yesterday after I fed #4 I started to attend to Linda and I noticed that the lower branch was barely attached to the main stem. It wasn't something that just happened overnight. As the branch was moved and tied down it was being pulled and slowly detaching. I saw the branch leaning when went to lift and straighten it there was a big space between the branch and the main stem. The branch was hanging by a few threads. . . . . :smokin2: . . . . think , think I said to myself as I . . . . RoorRip . . . . . . IN THE NAME OF LEARNING I GENTLY PULLED AND THE BRANCH CAME OFF . . . . :thedoubletake:

I watered Linda with 1 Liter of plain water PH at 6.7 and moved on . . . . ;)

Don't feel badly, we have all snapped stems. After training they can get woodier and are more likely to snap, we have all learned this the hard way. Sometimes even if there is just a small amount connecting if you tape it up, they can heal. I have seen this happen a few times. You may want to use some hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound and prevent any type of infection. You can use Elmer's glue to seal the scar too.
